And Yet I didn't recognise these VIPs who presumably could get in a comfy car and drive to Brize Norton up the M40/ A 40 in an hour and a half and cost a fraction of the money to the budget when we as a Nation are having to make difficult choices about heating and eating. In normal times fine - now not so fine.
1 if you don't recognise them that could also mean they are important... 2 you've no idea why they needed to get there faster than driving. 3 if people are struggling to heat their houses or eat then at some point that isn't the Government's fault anymore. The passengers are most likely members of the government, needing to attend important meetings, and to return to London to debrief on the same day. For this, the helicopter is a valuable time-saving asset. It is not possible to achieve this using surface transport.
They can't get to Northolt by car? They have their own RAF airport but no need to fly a private helicopter into Central London... Typical one rule for them one for us💦
Great close-up capture that and even a grin from the pilot. !
Agusta A109SP, registration GZ100, of 32 (The Royal) Squadron. Based at RAF Northolt.
A familiar sight at RAF Northolt, nice to finally get an upclose shot.

It used to be called Operation Armature, I did a few if them from Northolt in the late 80s/early 90s.

If anyone knows who it was, please reply. :)
