    I just ordered a Motenergy waterproof ME1719 6KW continuous 15Kw Peak motor to try on this! Subscribe to my channel to follow the progress on this build! Would love to hear your suggestions for future mods! Cheers mates!

    Please keep it electric, too much change and too much replacement parts or more than the absolute necessary will kill the point of having the cheapest car and making something very fun out of it. At least for me, its best when the upgrade are done thw short st and simplest routs, that is ingenuity after all. Love your qork and hope this channel grows.

      Thank you for your comments! I agree that there is something special about EV's that make them more enjoyable to drive. FoxxyYT pointed out a motor that I'm very interested in trying on this project. Ultimately it's going to be up to the owner as this is not my car. I'm just doing the mods on it. I'm trying to talk him into the QS138 90H which I think would be a great fit for this car. Cheers!

    I've been shopping around for an EV to drive in Cali, and I keep finding this issue with range. Is it difficult to covert solar power to charge the car while in motion?

    • @3dconceptsofutah757
      @3dconceptsofutah757  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would have to be a pretty big panel to make a difference but you could do it. I would not count on a solar panel extending range too much. You could probably fit about 200 watts of panel on the roof if you are lucky. The car stock and way underpowered has a 1kw motor. If you were just cruising and using around 500 watts of power and generating 200 watts in full sun you would be operating at a 300 watt deficit. When you factor in the losses from whatever hardware you would need between the panels and batteries, benefits would be lower than that. However, if you left it parked it could charge it over time.

    • @3dconceptsofutah757
      @3dconceptsofutah757  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@newmom1171 If you find a car with a large capacity (range rating) You could find something that might work. Do you live in a small town that would allow a golf cart to drive around town? That's essentially what these ones are. There are more serious EV's out there that you could bring around town. Might be better to get something like a used real car EV like a Nissan Leaf or something....

    Great setup. The original motor actually looks pretty good internally. Its an IPM motor, so very good for flux weakening (overspeed) and would probably handle similar power to the Kunray motor, especially with the kelly controller. Best of luck with the continuing build process ✌️
