Hey man, long time! Good, solid knives for the budget minded or beginning collector. If someone is new to knives, these are good choices to practice with and practice sharpening with. If you break it or mess up the profile, no big deal. Stay safe, bro!

Great suggestions! I love me a good leathwrman. I use to tell myself when I was younger that there was never a point in paying more than 20 dollars for a onife because all I had ever known was gas station knives. Then I bought a microtech....things have changed.

I had the same mentality, but my realization of the error of my ways came when one of my buds asked to use my sharpening kit to work his case trapper over as it had closed on his finger 10 years ago and he hadn’t sharpened it since as punishment 😂. So this man spent 4…. 6 hour watches honing out all the dents dings and imperfections in both the blades, then he polished them to dang near mirror finish, like the light coming through the window would reflect the polished portion of the blade on the ceiling. Then on the 5th watch i come downstairs to find he has whittled the rim of a mountain dew can into a pile of aluminum shavings on the table. I said you mean to tell me you spent 2 days sharpening it just to dull it whittling aluminum… he said it aint dull and shaved a swath up his arm, been carrying one since.

Its hard to beat a good multi tool like the leatherman even tho i havent carried one on my person in a loooong time when i did they got me out of many a jam. Best all round knife as far as sharpening with ease, and retaining that sharpness is case… not the stainless, but the high carbon steel. Only blade ive run across yet that would cut 12 strand, 1-1/8” spectra winch rope. Gotta do it one strand at a time, but it will pop through all 12 with ease, no other knife I’ve tried that with has been able to make it through, not even close. I used to carry the trappers which were about 50$ at the time but i like a bit larger blade so i came across the sod buster… happy days it is cheaper at 35$, bigger, and still holds an edge with the same carbon steel. Now they not very tactical at all, unfortunately they dont lock, and the sod buster is too thick to dig the occasional stuck casing out of my 22’s, but from a utility standpoint i love em. Also made in the usa. Good to see ya again bubba, hope you had a merry Christmas with the family. And happy newyear to ya when it gets here

Tactical isn't everything. I have a couple trappers and a Russ Lock. love them! Case will always have a place in my collection. Need to get my hands on a sod buster. Good to hear from you too and thanks for watching bro. And MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU TOO 🎄 👊💥🔥

This is a good list dude. The strong arm is badass, I wanna get one someday but too many knives at the moment lol. If someone were on an ultra low budget I would recommend them the Mora Robust as their fixed blade. It’s s hella durable, the scandi grind isn’t great for everything but super easy to sharpen, and its like $12 - $20. Thanks for the vid bro!

Hell yeah bro thanks for watching 👊 Can't beat the Mora for the price! If they were available everywhere like these knives are Mora in any configuration DEFINITELY would have been a strong contender for this list.

Get the Gerber Strongarm! Look up some of the torture tests people do on it if you doubt. They survive all but the most insane tests, and will certainly survive anything normal daily use will throw at it. For a sub $100 knife, you can't really beat it.

JOE X DID A 2 PART DESTRUCTION TEST ON STRONG ARM. HE COULDN'T BREAK IT.

I saw Joe X did two part test trying to destroy Gerber Strong Arm but he couldn't. Why doesn't anyone talk about that remarkable test? Joe X has destroyed several high-end exotic steel knives. Going to buy the Military Gerber version of Strong Arm. The LMF II INFANTRY - is a little over $110-$130.

I bought my Strong Arm on sale for $69, at Sportsman Warehouse. Sometimes they discount Gerber knives 20%.
