you are a very talented craftsmen !!!!! this video is very well done. your steps , are slow, and clear commented. thank you,for giving us your talent on youtube !!!!! i do since 45 years marshal-arts.and i do since 30 years asiatic weapons performances. your video is well done.
@EdenVierZweiAcht For me, I feel comfortable with any diameter between 1 inch (2,5cm) to 1,5 inches (3,2cm). It can vary with the size of your hand, but with those diameters you shouldn't have any problem. Take care
Thank you! glad i didnt return mine, fixing em was way more fun, and now i know how to make em so thats cool. I used paracord 550 since the previous thread broke off after like a week.
excellent tutorial ! I have not luck , in my city the brooms sticks have a smaller diameter than your stick but I have two pairs of nunchakus made out of some wood i have in my house ^^
+vinnie dolly I used 1 inch because there will be more wood between the tip and the hole and with that it will have more strength (but of course you can try with 1/2 inch). For the to hole I used 8mm bits, and then I make the hole a bit bigger, by putting the drill at an angle. With that the knot can be hidden better.
+vinnie dolly I used paracord.... It is very strong, and also is softer than any other ropes that I have used (braided nylon (even though paracord is also nylon, it is softer than the braided nylon I used) and cotton), so if you do tricks that involves touching the rope with your fingers it will be kinder to the fingers. But you can try different kinds of ropes, and use the one you like the most ;)
Very cool. Also very similar to how I used to make mine as a kid. One step that I took further though was instead of using oil or wax to cover the wood I'd wrap the sticks in a couple layers of electrical tape and then a layer of that hockey tape that's used at the bottom of the sticks for grip. With this you could have a pretty solid grip on your sticks even if your hands got sweaty and after a few hours of practice your hands had some pretty nice calluses on your hands to toughen them up.
definitely yes i think, but some nunchakus have a some bumps made from i dont know maybe thats like a kind of bolt on the lower part of it.. it's easier way to make a fighting style nunchaku

Hola, ¿cual es el diametro del paracord que usaste?....yo hice el nunchaku tal cual hiciste en el video pero me es imposible poner el nudo final dentro del agujero de 8mm (yo use un paracord de 4mm de diametro). Gracias
Prestozable, The string should be the width of the palm of our hand, so that if you have the string in your hand each of the two sticks will hang down on each side of your hand.
Fantastic video. Best tutorial on YT!
I will try it soon. I'm still habe an old broom. Here in Germany it is a forbidden weapon. So I make myself punishable when I build it. Keep it up.
It's more smooth for your hand to round the ends, but you can leave them like that if you want
Would that be the inner elbow or outer elbow when you make your elbow 90 degrees?

Hi, those are from a broom handle. If you don't have wooden brooms, you can try to buy a wooden dowel or curtains dowels in a hardware supply store
How bout just one cross hole with a snap pin sunk so it doesnt stick out and the pin gos through the last links on a chain in the chain holes
1:33 why do yoiu choice 1 inch as first hole ? is half an inch not better? also, I did not get what drill tip you use for the top holes. 6mm or 8mm?
+vinnie dolly I used 1 inch because there will be more wood between the tip and the hole and with that it will have more strength (but of course you can try with 1/2 inch). +NunchakuTutolials.com ok i get. and what type of string do you use? standard common cotton-made one or synthetic superstrong material's?

The lenght of the nunchuck handles are supposed to be the lenght from your elbow to you wrist.
It was floor wax. You can also try using oils for wood, lacquer or paint.
dude, you are freakin awesome!
Did you get that wood from broom, can you use broom wood?
For me, I feel comfortable with any diameter between 1 inch (2,5cm) to 1,5 inches (3,2cm). It can vary with the size of your hand, but with those diameters you shouldn't have any problem. Take care

Very nice. Definitely going to favourites. Thanks a lot
Great job. Your English is very good! What is your native language?
which is the size of the rope?
Prestozable,
The string should be the width of the palm of our hand, so that if you have the string in your hand each of the two sticks will hang down on each side of your hand.
how long is the cord between the sticks
What kind of string is good for Nunchakus?
+joesashiify I personally prefer the G string.

I made one from a shovel lul.
Can you use PIECES OF WOODEN BROOM?
How long is the rope? How far do they need to be a part? thanks.

thanks. My native language is Spanish.
Ohh ! Thank you !
Butterfly sword if you have this. Thanks
Nice, but a slice of a blade will separate it, rather than a chain version. Nonetheless, I like.
imachynn no one uses sword anymore. No need to worry about cord being cut.
thanks so much mate :D
These are nice
Can you send me a list of watt i need to make it ok
thanks helped alot
Yes, sadly in many parts nunchakus are illegal.
Dude, he said that in the beginning!
I used paracord 550 for that nunchaku
Buen video....
Should of used chain because you can block knife with the chain not paracord
You don't need chain to block a knife, rope is more flexible
Dillon Yu You dont use chain for nunchakus. Its to slow. A nunchaku with chain basically sux.
Dillon Yu you block with the stick
yeah... check on youtube for "How to make a wooden sword [scimitar]", and you will find my video ;)
thanks ,,,,,,,i can try it .
Thank you very much!!!_)
