I have this and just sold it. It held up well over nine years or so. The grill grates need replaced and some of the heat deflector plates are done. Countertops held up well, fridge and sink still work. Range works. Mostly the grill needs some parts replaced. Not a bad set up at all!
I don't know why the recall. If I were not so greedy I think I would have it now. We had actually bought all three modules online and were called for delivery, but our patio construction was not ready yet so we postponed for a week. In the mail we got a "welcome to the neighborhood" 10% off coupon from Lowes so we went to the store that would be delivering it to get the 10%. They intended to cancel the order then immediately sell it back to us with the discount. Upon "buying" the s
Is been a year having mine 5 months in an open deck cover on all times we wash the grates by hand and put disposable trays in the bittom for dripings. The handle my husban touch with salt and seasoning in his hands is starting to show little corrosion spots.
Also, I have noticed the sink unit is completely off of the Lowes database. Even links to it crash. To bad as we had planned our backyard space around this unit, especially sad after your lovely and informative positive review here.
Hello, is it possible to replace the stainless steel grates with cast iron ones which holds heat better? any problems with rust... I'm thinking of buying this unit, and need help deciding
Can you hook the sink to hot and cold water ? We have access to both and I want a plumber to connect to a drain also. House is plumbed for this at the site we will connect to.
I been watching this page for some time and I am thinking about getting grill. How is the grill holding up now in 2015 ?? I would appreciate your advice.
Thank you for your reply. I have been looking at this grill at Lowe's for years now and keep putting off buying due to the price$$. I am adding an addition to my home and will buy the grill for the new patio. I will take your advice and will keep the grill under cover out of the weather. Thanks for your video this helps in my decision to buy the master forge grill.
I have the SAME set...all but the refrigerator section. I guess I can just run the garden hose from the hydrant on house to the sink, then run a line from the sink drain out to the yard, right? isn't that what you did. I honestly haven't used it yet..I want to really use it this summer, plug in the lighting system it has. I also want to order the rotisserie!! about 59.00 seems. I love the set. thanks for sharing.
some reviews state it's not good for cooking chicken, because of the temperature lost. Do you feel this is true? I just ordered the grill and will be receiving it soon.
With all due respect, the review is excellent. It made me buy it. I purchased all 3 pieces & had Lowes come & pick them up 2 weeks later. The sink rusted, many rust pits & I did not even use it. I kept it covered at all times. The refrigerator door started to show some sign of rust too. My concern was that if in 2 wks this happened, what would I expect to see in 2 years. For $2500 (all 3 modules) not wort the hassle. I am having an outdoor kitchen built with granite for $5K. So do your homework.
Thank you very much for your informative vid. I am contemplating on getting this grill. Since its been almost a year since you had this grill, it is still performing well?
I just purchased this and expecting it to come in next week. Thanks for the advice on the washing machine line and the drain connections. How did you have the PVC drain hook up distally to the drain on the ground without making it look ugly? Also do you remember the brand of the washing machine line you used and what PSI was it rated for?
Thanks for the awesome, in-depth review! Question for you: Does the grill and the side burner/griddle use the same propane tank? Also, do you have your grill flushed right up against your house? If so, how far away? Thanks in advance!
First of all fantastic video review. I really want to purchase this grill but I'm nervous about people complaining about rust. Have you had any issues?
no issues with rust but mine is in closed with a roof over it. only probem we are having now is with the grates flaking and we can't get ahold of master forge the unit is only a year old and I am very concerned about the safety of the grates. it seems to me that this might be a health issue.
So, your video totally made us decide to get this entire setup with the refrigerator. Excellent vid. However do you have any info on the rotisserie accessory???
Hilary B. i bouth a universal 1 in lowes is a little shorter then the total length of the grill inside, kind a cool you can rotisery and grill in the side
I have the same grill and, after 3 years, the cooking grates are in bad shape. been looking for replacements ones but can't seem to find any parts for the BG179A grill. or stainless steel grates that match those dimensions. still a great grill otherwise, just need some new grates.
Darren Kitchens Try this site I found called grill spot. I included the link. I posted some questions about this Master Forge grill set under my name (Jeffrey Everett) If you don't mind would you please read my post and tell me your thoughts. Thanks www.grillspot.com/brands/master-forge?bbq_part_type=7&gclid=CL6BsLraz8YCFRc8gQodFUQGug&p=1
I'm so jealous of you lol I saw this in lowes in 2014 or 15 it caught my eye too it really is a must have and I was gonna ask dones it come with plastic to protect but you already answered my question at the end of video thanks so much
The manual had a 1800 number that you can order parts. I would not replace the grates with OEM, they are crap. I replaced mine with grill grates brand and it works much better
I would really like to have the dimentions of each of these units. There is no information out there and it would be helpful to many many viewers looking to purchase these units. If anyone knows the dimensions, please post here.
Nice video amigo. i have my set up as well and unfortunately my rotisserie infrared does not work. I got mine 4 months ago at Lowes. My set up is basically set and would not be moved not even if a tornado hits the set up is most like to survive. Can you kindly provide me and the folks that might have the same problem with the rotisserie part. Thank a million
+Adam unsell yeah the front right side as you look in at it barely lights up, the rest of the burner doesn't heat up thanks amigo maybe one of this i will post my maste forge set up. again thanks a million and keep grilling.
The granite around your sink is not quite 1/2" thick....they double it up around the edges to make you think its thicker........look around the rim of your sink and your shelf on top......its half the thickness.......
Ireland TUCKERSON I got it at Lowe’s when the had them in store. The carry one similar in store but it’s not called master forge. Can’t remember the name.
This is the third summer for my grill. The end of last summer, the grates started to "shed" their outer layer. They are obviously not solid stainless material. It is to the point I cannot use them and must replace them. If I continue to use them someone would end up with chunks of metal from the grate in their food. Also, while cleaning the burners the other day, I noticed a lot of rust. There is some sort of plug or a casting connection, anyway a place on the burner at the back end about 3/8" in diameter that was just about completely rusted out. I tried to contact Master Forge but never heard back from them. Needless to say, I am very disappointed with this product and customer support from Master Forge.
+My Something Random there is a product called Grill Grates that I am considering using to replace my grates. It looks like a prety good product to me.
Mine too, this is a hunk of junk for a very big price tag. I wanted to buy the entire kitchen but it rusted out the first year so I didn't bother. Glad because now it's completely lost. 2.5 years later can't use the grill anymore.
Magnetism is not a measure of stainless steel quality. There are two main types of stainless steel; martensetic and austenetic. Martensetic stainless is magnetic but by no means "lower quality".
CAUTION: I know 3 people that have the Master Forge grills and the bottom pan on all 3 rusted out in 2 years.....I have the stainless steel 3218LT model. The hinges on the stainless steel unit have also rusted.
We kept ours covered, cleaned and out of the elements too. After three years or so, it is COMPLETELY useless - rusted out innards and, as it turns out following a brief Internet search, this is par for the course. Never buying a (an?) MF grill again.
Here are the measurements. BBQ unit: 27.25"D x 50"W x 48" H Sink unit: 27"D x 35.5H x 50"W The granite shelf adds another 9.5" to the back of the the sink unit.
I have the same grill, the problem is the whole cabinet that the grill sits in rusted beyond belief. Grill still works but cabinet is so bad the doors can't open and close. A real piece of shit, I called manufacturer and they said that they can't help
DO NOT BUY THIS GRILL, I have owned this grill for 3 years. Just about everything has failed. The grates are corroded and breaking apart with rust, The burners have rusted and 3 off them leak gas to the point you cannot cook with them, The cover and parts are impossible to replace and none of the lights or features work anymore. I use this grill once a week or less, keep it covered ALWAYS and it sits under a covered patio so I cant understand why this grill is so bad. READ OTHER REVIEWS AND CONFIRM.

Did you replace it with something? If I ever do it will be a pellet grill possibly. But I’ll probably keep it till it dies.
Where is the electrical plug in for the lights? Just bought one for $350. Its great!
Thanks for the review and the tip on the drip pan... I may pick up the 3 modules this weekend... you covered everything very well!

Beautiful video.... how did you connect your water and drain. You touched on how you connected a drain. Thank you
Hello, is it possible to replace the stainless steel grates with cast iron ones which holds heat better?
any problems with rust... I'm thinking of buying this unit, and need help deciding
My master forge outdoor fridge makes grinding noises when temp drops outside below 12C
That doesn’t sound good. I never got the fridge unit unit so I’m not sure what that would be.
Can you hook the sink to hot and cold water ? We have access to both and I want a plumber to connect to a drain also. House is plumbed for this at the site we will connect to.

How is your MasterForge unit holding up after two years? I was thinking of purchasing one
Thank you very much for your informative vid. I am contemplating on getting this grill. Since its been almost a year since you had this grill, it is still performing well?
Hello, I wanted to ask what is the total width of the complete set you have, not each one, but the all together.
How much is the total cost. Thanks. Love the compartmentalization
How do you connect the water faucet to the garden hose?
Hey Kpanic9 - see my comment above. I just sent all 3 of my pieces back to Lowes due to rust. How is yours holding up?
I just purchased this and expecting it to come in next week. Thanks for the advice on the washing machine line and the drain connections. Do they ever go on sale? Around what time of the year?

have you found any info on the rotisserie kit that you have to get separetely?
Same question I have!!!!!
Rommel Brusola I have the grill part anf got the universal 1 from lowes and it works.
I ordered mine from amazon.
Commenting to see what everyone's solution was going forward
what coupling did you use to connect to your hose? I can't find anything that fits
+Adam unsell thank you I will give it a shot
How did you connect the sink to your water? I’n having a hard time going from 1/2” to 3/4” without having leaks with adapters
Just go to hardware store and they sell azaptor for like $2-5. Easy.

The counter height for both units is 35.5 "
Hey Harry - just curious - see my comment in this thread. I just had Lowes pick my 3 units up because of rust. How is yours holding up?
What’s The model number of your grill
How is the grill holding up?

Just here to ask if you ever managed to get your rotisserie infrared fixed? Owned ours for years and it never worked for us.
The granite around your sink is not quite 1/2" thick....they double it up around the edges to make you think its thicker........look around the rim of your sink and your shelf on top......its half the thickness.......
Tried to buy at Lowes but now the Sink section is recalled and they won't sell it anymore. Without it the grill is less attractive.
Can you please post the master forge 800 number. I need it. Thanks
My Something Random thank you so much. I really appreciate it. And thanks for the infrared tiles tip. I’m also definitely ordering the grill grates.
My Something Random I had to replace the original grates because the stainless steal coating was pealing off and sticking to the food.
How/ and Where do you order?

specialed1942 I place an aluminum drip pan in the bottom under the burners so I don’t have to worry about that problem
@@MSRWorkshop I bought cookie trays that fit perfectly
I like it. How much?
Ireland TUCKERSON they run a little over 1k for each section
Possibly because of the rust? See my review above.

Master forge is garbage, save your money. Lowes discontinued selling it because the shit is garbage.
