  • As we continue to clear out the snow around our houses this winter, one woman is asking you to remember her and her community.

I try.... 2 storms ago I cleared the sidewalk in front of house and along side along 5600W. Udot then city plows buried the cleared walks with solid Ice within an hour. ;after that I am done. try my best the plows f it up. I get around with a cane so can sympathize. btw snow blower makes a fine walker.

🤔 I always wonder why places with snow don't have tracks or big off road looking tires on wheelchairs. That should be thing though; no need to worry about conditions with tracks or big off road looking tires on wheelchairs.

I don't think the world has to be perfect to do something as simple as giving pedestrian infrastructure the same (or better) priority as road infrastructure. It just takes getting your priorities right as a city. Specialised plows exist for sidewalk and cycle path clearance...

That's dangerous for her to be outside. Her conditions have limitations.
Driving a wheelchair through the snow isn't a good idea. In a perfect world, maybe everything would be perfect for all of us.

Access to basic services like shopping and education is a pretty basic human right. I suspect if the roads were never plowed and were impassable, you wouldn't be saying the same thing...
