I have a ruling question :Let's say I normal summon Razen and activate effect, then my opponent uses Baronne to negate and destroy and I chain Heavy Borger to bounce Razen to hand. On the resolution the effect of Razen won't resolve since it was negated but Razen is back on hand, so it won't get destroyed, right? I think it won't since it's not the same monster once it goes back to the hand. Same logic as why Mirrorjade doesn't Raigeki if it goes back to the Extra Deck. Am I correct?
What if I activate Borger to bounce back Razen and opponent chain book of moon. Does Razen still get back in hand, because I targeted it or does Razen still on field because it got booked?
i think it's because the cost is target a "VS monster", not a "face up VS monster" and you did target Mad Love so the cost is paid unless final attack order is on the field LOL
So if you activate dust devil but chain Borger it won’t resolve because the monster left the field and you can’t change its battle position. This instance is weird because you’re flipping a face down monster back face up
@@HouseofCardsTCG just read about dust devil again and i think it's because the targeted monster left the field. i'm basing this thought on a different case though where fusion and ritual decks practically does not give a shit about getting book of moon-ed because they can use it anyway
@@HouseofCardsTCG It will resolve without effect. There is a difference between not resolving the chain link (empty chain link) and resolving without effect. Resolving without effect would make cards miss the timing, for example.
Easy easy. Of course. Because it say "it", the dust devil resolves. I mean obviously it does. Where did you go to Yu-Gi-Oh school where they wouldn't teach this simple interaction? 🧐
As a reminder: targeting isn't a cost; it's an activation requirement.
Facts. Sorry about that. Misspoke.
yea I like quick ruling videos like this. They're not overwhelming and easy to digest.
These are easy to make! I can do more of these as they happen
Itd be nice if the title was clearer though, since its hard to find later for reference

I do believe you are correct. It won’t be destroyed, but the effect will be negated.
razen wont get destroyed in hand yes but not the same logic as mirrorjade. very different interactions
This came up on EDOPRO and I had no idea how that was the interaction. It was hilarious.
All because it says “it’s battle position” 🤣
Same ruling applies if opponent takes control of your VS monster, either for dust devil or for summoning Borger or Valius.
Yes that’s correct!

@@thorbenlippoldes1571razen still goes back to the hand because the requirement was already met. And Borger will summon.
@@GameCornerNIC thank u very much. I was on Lokals last Sunday and I wanted to bounce back mad love for burger but the opponent said, that's illegal.
@@thorbenlippoldes1571 it does. Razen goes back to hand and Borger will summon.

This is not a hard ruling if you have read the Demystifying rulings articles by YgoOrganization. Every player should read those.
I agree. They’ll make you a better duelist
Can you show us more powerful ruling for vanquish? Thanks
I can work
On that because it is very intricate of a deck
Good to know
