    I'm a do it yourselfer when it comes to fixing thing. My furnace was doing exactly the same thing. Inducer fan would come, ignitor would glow, flames light and then the furnace shut down. I cleaned the flame sensor several times and it would intermittently work. I purchased 2 brand new flame sensors and again the same thing. Changed them out and they would work here and there. Frustrated, I watched more videos in the past 2 weeks than I watched in my lifetime. It turned out that it was the pressure switch. I have a 2 stage pressure switch. Don't ask me why I figured out or at least took a chance to buy one and replace it, but I did. I live in a rural area of the country and it would have cost me $500 plus parts to have it fixed. So, if any of you are having this problem like I did, check out your pressure switch. Furnace works like new! Great video you posted!!

    EXCELLENT. Hands down best video on this topic - I've watched quite a few as my house is quite cold in anticipation of a solution.

    I was getting an attempt for the gas furnace to start and then quit going into lockout. I cleaned the flame sensor and reinstalled it with no difference. Meter is series with the flame sensor provided zero dc miro amp reading. Replaced the electronic board and the furnace is working great. The board is one of the top 5 things to go. It was on a Carrier Gas Furnace. So if you are getting no DC miro amp reading back when the meter is in series with the flame sensor and the flame sensor has 110 volts, it is probably a bad board as it was in my case.

      I’ve dealt with this on a Lennox Elite. E270- no flame current sensed. Did everything. Replaced the control board. Worked like new. Here I’am again 2yrs later with the same Code.

    Hi , my Nordyne furnace had flame sensor problem, yellow light is on . I bought a new flame sensor, replaced and the furnace was working but the yellow light still on. Can you let me know how to resolve? Thank you.

    how about cleaning the flame sensor first?

    Would it also cut power to the control board (wifi thermostat shuts off too)? My burners turn off 3 - 4 minutes into the heat cycle then turn back on and continue until temp has reached.

    Consider an option to clean the sensor.

      Yeah I didn't want to unscrew it and sand it like another video suggested, so I just wiped the sensor off with alcohol on a paper towel. Very little visible residue on the paper towel, but it worked!

    My Flame Sensor connection wire terminate at a White AC common wire. Meaning it has some sort of fixture that rapes around the white common and I can only assume it penetrate the white plastic to make contact. This white wire goes back to common on the IFC. Does this description seem normal? I have replace the Flame Sensor but still have zero microamps when testing. There the flame goes out after a few seconds.

    This is v hard to follow. Would be better to do this test on an actual furnace so we can see what is being done.

    $155 dollars for a $9 thermocouple! Nice!

    • @roadgeek123
      @roadgeek123 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I am not an expert in HVAC but maybe that price includes the trip charge, labor to diagnose and install, taxes, etc. You can't expect the tech to work for free unless you believe in slavery. Also a thermocouple and a flame sensor not the same thing. They may do the same job but the operating principles are different.

      Absolutely I agree. But it does become excessive.
