My son put my Monstera Delisiosa into the sunroom last year while I was away. It had the morning sun and lots of indirect light during the day. It stayed out there all summer and began living up to its name and grew like a monster!! It is back in the house in a room with more light than originally and is huge and happy! 😊

Great info! I wish you would do a video on watering very large plants. I use a moisture meter, but sometimes it shows that the plant is still wet. Often one part of the pot shows dry and another spot shows wet. I can’t imagine you can use your finger to only test the first two inches when the pot is 12 inches deep.

Good advice! I’ve been putting my cacti and succulents out for summer for years. Timing is the key, like you said...

I had not thought about how the wind would affect the watering of my plants outside, but that's a big deal if you're like me and just getting used to not overwatering your plants. I'm always wanting to put some of my plants outside because I know the light would be better for them; however, I worry about bringing pests from outside into my home and to my other plants.

Hej ni två! I'be been watching your channel since a while know and love your in depth, practical and not too scientific explanations. Would you mind to bring a video whether and what is to be done during season chances? E.g. now in the beginning of winter? What's to be prepared for / with the plants? I'm advanced with plants and know that in spring plant can (and don't must) re-planted and usually fertilisation is to be stopped - but when exactly? My Ficus lyrata e.g. is driving new greens as in spring .... Många många tack

What can I do if my terrace is facing south so it gets full sun during the afternoon? Could you create maybe a short video on how to improvise shade for such cases when you don't have any flexibility on where to place the plants?

Hello and thank.you for your informative videos. I have a question that maybe you could answer in one of your episodes. In the summer, my Medinilla Magnifica was enjoying the humid hot weather here in North Florida, I tried protecting it during the cold, but did so poorly. My 5 year old plant got a chill and the leaves were affected greatly, but it still looks alive and has green in the stems. Should I have kept many of the bad leaves on it instead of taking them off after bringing it inside? I also repotted it before bringing it in and washed down the leaves to avoid pests. Was this all a bad idea and can cause the plant too much stress to bounce back>. I am hopeful that it will return. Thank you and Happy New Year! 🎆

Every summer I put my plants on my covered porch and they seem to love it. And indeed any insect problem goes away. I don’t know if the problem goes away biologically because outdoor organisms eradicate them nicely from the soil or because it’s just not bothering me since they’re on my porch. But when I bring them back in they come in with an insect problem still. Not all of them. I’m wondering if there’s some thing I could do to make sure that when I bring them back in in the fall it is without any pests whatsoever. Or if at least there’s a way to absolutely know if they have a pest problem or not. Visibly I never see anything. is it likely they pick up some thing else from outside that becomes apparent after they are inside for a couple of weeks - I just don’t know.

How can we make sure that we don’t bring pests in when we bring our plants back inside? Should we just repot it in all new soil?

Some people recommend using hydrogen peroxide with water. What's your take on this?

    Summer? Now?
    Well, in Australia, I guess.
No, seriously, I get grow lights and stuff because winter is coming.

This question is off topic but I don't know where to post. I bought a Dracaena Lisa in a 4" container. It has 1 stalk with two heads. Can I remove it from the pot and combine it with a larger Dracaena Lisa that is in a 5 gallon pot? Thank you

You actually can, but there's always that risk of drowning that smaller dracaena. What I usually do on my dracaenas, if I want to combine the smaller plants to the bigger ones that I have been growing at home for quite sometime is I wait for a couple of months up to about a year when the plant is already stable at my home environment before I combine. Hope this helps. 😁

Can you put Hoya outside? They do not like drafts and I wonder if it's an easy way to kill it xD
