Yeah, we did notice. I figured it was Mel, but didn't want to guess because she has other siblings [I believe?]. So I thought it could have been her son. 😀
for context: kindred is like the grim reaper of league of legends. kindred split itself in two : the lamb , the one who gives a swift death with her arrow . and the wolf , the one that chases and hunts: it enjoys violence when dying if refusing to die peacefully. the wolf at the start is also the wolf of kindred by the way! if you noticed it leaves at the end after her visions are over and she is back from her vision. kindred looks different in each region it is in. Noxus is all about power above all else. they worship the wolf as they dont like the idea of dying peacefully . this is why in this video the lamb doesnt carry a bow with her but instead gives an award also for passing kindred's test ( this part test is still unclear)
The Lamb breaking and entering the wolf statue represented her surrendering the idea of a peaceful death in exchange for glory and strength. it's a very devil in the crossroads kind of reference but so beautifully pieced together to represent this hulk of a woman that demands everything you have and more if you ever want to see another day.
a lot of people think the ambessa's vision of an inner battle is kindred a god of death, who was split into two wolf and lamb, noxxis only worships the wolf. great reaction.
good news for you guys! Ambessa get's her own novel!! It will be coming out 18th of february 2025 and is called: Ambessa - Chosen of the Wolf , written by C.L.Clark. I am guessing we get there a whole more information how her life was up until S1. Arcane can not cover her life considering how condensed the episodes are. I think the most important thing from this video in relevance to S2 of Arcane is to note, that Ambessa was pregnant with Mel on that battlefield and that Mel's eyes glow up in gold at the end. I guess bc she was marked by the wolf of Kindred?
@@Dchybrid well it's totally up to you, I play the game and watch arcane and I'm actually moving it but for my recommendation you should!! It gives you more facts about the characters you use
@@PopJibberish you can enjoy the league lore completely without ever playing the game. The novels are a piece in itself and do not really require prior knowledge - though, like in Arcane, you might get references easier but to understand the story, it is not required and you already watched Arcane so this should be more than fine to enjoy ;) I know many people who started out with the ruination novel and really liked it an went from there to explore the universe more. One thing I recommend watching is Necrit's video "The World of Riot's MMO is Already Done". There, you get a better grip of Runeterra itself to understand where the setting is - for example: I suspect we will get Shurima explored with Ambessa a bit in that novel. It is good to know what kind of region that is and a bit of the history - though it will be not required and important parts will surely be mentionend in the book anyways, I personally think it is nice to understand quicker while reading.
I still think that a lot of Arcane's success is that they kept the story writing and plot development in-house at Riot, and required that it fit with the canon of the universe. That kept any bright eyed idiots from coming along and making a mess. They also, very wisely, followed the KISS principle by following the classic 3 act structure to write it.
as much as i would love that to be true, it isnt. Even tho it is indeed an inhouse production between Fortiche and Riot, Arcane contradicts established Lore for characters and the Setting HEAVILY in many aspects. To its Benefit for the most part, but that just shows the skill of the writers. It does NOT fit the "canon" of the Universe, and the "canon" for Runeterra is pretty loose as it is. It fits the Vibe of the Lore very well, thats true, but its not "canon-compliant", as they say. Doesnt change the fact that Arcane is a masterpiece and i wouldnt mind if its version of the lore overrites the established canon, but dont say that its 100% accurate and compatible. Cuz It aint.
I know! They are pretty dope! I did a deep dive on my own after I finished the series the first time! I LOVE video game cinematics and game trailers, but they also had music videos and other content. I watched it ALL. I'm hooked. It's why I decided to watch it again with Shey! I COULDN'T let her watch it alone! 😅😅
@@lockekappa500 up to the point I saw them no one had understood the point of the cinematic. I am seeing more ppl who understand but its not me who is commenting on all of them for sure xD
short version, as people explained the Wolf represent the grimm reaper, but is more than that, the 3 people she see in her vision are Katarina, Swain and Pantheon, they are the same type of people that Amebssa, Swain and Katarina are also from Noxus, they are the type that are supposed to die but refused to die, Pantheon is basically the guy that will spit on the face of death, they are all warriors liek Ambessa, so is like their spirits are tsting her spirit in the after life because they will also refuse to stay.
I doubt it was motioned captured, this video was made by FORTICHE the studio that animates ARCANE, they don't do motion capture, the animate by hand. which makes their animations all that more impressive.
Oh no, I know it's not, I've seen "Bridging the Rift" mini documentary and know that Fortiche is JUST THAT DANG GOOD at what they do. *LOL* 😁! Love them so much.
Great reaction. I have to kinda disagree about what you say about normalizing being a badguy. I look at it as, if we ever want to change or hope to help someone from evil actions we first have to understand where they come from, and then we can naturally relate and sympathize. All "evil" stems from somewhere. I love exactly this how Arcane shows how badguys are just relatable people that are shaped by unfortunate circumstances.
The TH-cam algorithm just really hates me I guess because I just typed out a 3-paragraph reply agreeing with you without even using any problematic language and now it's all gone. Which words do I even have to censor to get it to pass???
To be fair we don't even know how bad Ambessa truly is. Yes she's a warmongerer, but they very much have a law and structure to their culture and society.
@@lockekappa500 yes. but we know that she kills just for the sake of setting an example, so in some ways shes already more ruthless than silco. i think its highly likely ambessa will be our antagonist replacement for silco. knowing the writing in arcane so far, no matter how "evil" she gets we will always get shown background with insight and reasoning. cant wait for s2!
@@mathiaskolostyak5589 Eh, I think at best Ambessa will be the "face" of the Piltover side of the battle. And yes this will probably result in some questionable decisions made in the name of war. But I don't think she'll be the Silco of this season. I could be wrong though!

I'm almost sad she's gorgeous younger. I mean, league does a great job having strong woman, also different ethnicities etc... But there's still one thing : male chars can be ugly, woman must be hot.
