So very happy you had such a great time! I've taken 27 when I worked for Southwestern Bell/AT&T. These were sales award trips that I had to attend because I had so many employees who made their sales quotas. A few times I had a stateroom with a port view. Danny, the correct term for the way you want your steak is Pittsburgh Rare. Basically a charred outside with a rare inside temp.

Danny, another great video. You call it like you see it. I'm tired of seeing other TH-camrs who only have great things to say about their meals. I need the balance that you bring. Sometimes I think some restaurants serve sous vide steaks that they purchase from their suppliers and finish it off by grilling or some other method. Guga has some great videos. He has been collaborating with lots of people recently. It would be great to see a Guga DTM collab!

Disembarkation day is always a zoo. I do leave my big bag in the hallway night before. I also go to the breakfast buffet to let the crowds die down. Never won in the casino. Theaters are always packed. FYI: some NCL ships offer solo cruisers option; cheaper with solo suite, private lounge, and activities director. I always take this option when it’s available.

NCL has small entertainment venues so you have to expect massive crowds and difficulty in getting seats.
Glad you had a good experience on your 1st cruise so much so you already booked your second cruise! Yes, disembarking is no fun. Great idea on how to do it as stress free as possible. Love your idea on the duffle bag as well. I used the laundry once and all my close came out dingy looking- never again!

After your MSC cruise, take a look at Virgin. Incredible food for the cruise price. No kids on Virgin either.
I have nothing in my refrigerator tonight, so dishes Danny turn down . I am willing to eat. LOL.
I think there are a lot of people who would be very thankful to eat what Danny turned down.
that steak would be great cut into cubes and turned into a stew.. such lean and tough meats are great for that!
Glad to see you enjoyed your first cruise. I started cruising about 5 years ago & used to never think I wanted to cruise. Now I really enjoy it & have been on many cruises every year. Also I wanted to make sure you know MSC is having a status match program where you can match your hotel status to a higher cruise status with them. Say if you have Hilton Diamond status it usually matches to MCS Diamond or Gold status. You might want to submit for the match before your Jan cruise. Also enjoy MSC it is mine & my wifes favorite cruise line.

I have been on cruises years ago and filming in ship casino wasn't permitted. The casino wasn't big at all.

We did the Norwegian Escape with Caesars out of Vegas. The cruise we liked,BUT the food was subpar at best.😮
if something is subpar, order something else! you will eventually find something par .. hopefully
Do not waste food. The food in the Dinning Rooms was not bad at all.

So glad you enjoyed your cruise. If you gamble a lot on a Holland America cruise they will offer you super discount deals or free cruises on upcoming last minute trips. If you like nature things a cruise to Alaska on Holland America is very good. Food is good and the ship is smaller. (Crowd is 55+ if you don't mind seniors) lol
I signed up for a holland america offer, but I dunnooo.. tempted to try their rotthingham boat
Glad you enjoyed the cruise. It's always good to hear about a cruise experience from a first-timer's perspective.
You probably owe it to yourself to watch some shows. Yes the theatre is going to be crowded. But the seats are wide and deep enough that you won't be accidentally interacting with your neighbour. Once the theatre is dark it shouldn't feel too bad.
You were pretty dead on about the crew and ship's country flag. It's done to pay the crew less. But that is one of the reasons why that gratuity amount is important to the crew - it's part of their take-home pay. Now, I'd rather that the cruise lines paid better and simply passed that on to us in the overall price, but since they don't, I'm not gonna grump about the gratuity.
Too bad about the tables. I knew the lower limits would have bad rules - they always seem to on the ships. Not much you can do about it.
I've heard that MSC is a bit more European in terms of the vibe. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but should be interesting to find out.
DTM, great choice, the scallops, but they looked dry. Still, I would have ordered until I got some good ones. Glad to hear you are going on another cruise. More FREE stuff. Can't wait to go along. I could join you in person, but why should I, it's free to watch on You Tube. Karla in C.

Hi Danny, The seared scallops are usually one of my favorite appetizers. Next time, I will order three dishes of it. You were lucky because your scallops were very large compared to mine. My next cruise will be on NCL Getaway on March 7-17 since they upgraded me from a bronze to silver.
I've been looking at MSC for over a year now, and now that they sail from BK, I may have to try them out (when school is in session). When I went on Carnival in July, there were kids in the hot tubs along with adults and it just didn't sit too well with me, so I avoided it. Strange dynamic. Glad that you enjoyed your 1st experience.

So glad you fell in love with cruises. Try celebrity cruise line. It’s the best there is to me. The food on celebrity will make Norwegian look mediocre. I’ve been on almost all the cruise lines
Carnival 's food beats NCL both on taste and service.
Also they make announcements in multiple languages.
Watching DTM eat scallops was like watching a tennis match. My neck guys, my neck. DTM next time you should bring a blowtorch and char the heck out of your steak to your liking. Happy Thanksgiving DTM! Enjoy your turkey chow fun.

Congrats on completing your first cruise! Is the next one also "complementary"? My next "free" cruise will be in mid-january but I'm having trouble deciding whether to go to the Mexican Riviera or Caribbean - Mexico would use fewer frequent-flyer miles, and I'm also a cheap SOB, but I've been there before (I liked it, but I also like going to new places). I will be looking forward to hearing what you think when you eventually hit some rough seas!

Whoa! Did you eat all 18 scallops? Three orders hahahaha! The first steak didn’t look too bad. It was not burnt like you requested but the meat looked like the temperature you liked. I am glad that overall you had a good time. So good that you going on another cruise soon. I am glad you were able to sleep like a baby.

Danny, I just booked a different cruise date with MSC😢 BTW, I went with MSC this summer to Bermuda and I loved their onion soup! It’s the best one on all the cruises I’ve ever had. Please try it and let me know. It’s the exactly the way you like it- how a onion soup should be.

Those scallops, if you look closely and the botton of it; you will see a ring of moisture in the sauce below, to me they looked like a 6!

Take advantage of all your casino statuses. You.can get a lot of free cruises.

Danny, if you want a steak to your liking, it's important to understand the language of restaurant ordering. Ask for your steak CHARED MEDIUM RARE. Almost any restaurant that focuses steak should understand. However, in a budget cruise line, they're cooking banquet style, not to order

I have a surefire way for it to be not confusing, I will just wait till they say SIR, you have to leave the boat, and security will escort me off.
