    This is a nice video. Keep in mind when watching it, he is sitting there all tied up and none of the lines he is messing with have any load on them. First, his instruction about using the palm of your hand while easing is exactly right; this really helps prevent an override if you ease too quickly and gives you good control. However, you'll want to be wearing sailing gloves. When taking the sheet out of the self-tailer, keep tension on it to prevent the sheet from slipping. You don't want to easy the jib until it's time to actually release. If you're racing and fetching a mark and the job is unexpectedly eased, and it causes the skipper to lose some height, well, let's just say someone is not going to be too happy with you!

    Dont forget to put a figure eight knot in the end of the sheet line or it will go through the car block and you could lose control of the genoa.
