Who else thought the skit would end with Mick getting on the stage and killing it.
Kinda bummed that didn't happen-- but it's still a great sketch 🙂
@@rockphotochick Yeah. The premise was still funny. But we were both robbed of what would have been a great payoff Lol
That's what I thought was gonna happen. But I think it would have been hilarious if Mick got up last and sang a Stones song and they all said he was terrible. That's how I would've written the skit
@@Danny-ju2ip Yeah! That's good lol
Something like "Nice try but you don't really sound like Mick Jagger. The first guy nailed it"
Was waiting for Kevin to nail it, and then be told he sucked.
Only Fred Armisen could impersonate Jagger with such a confidence right in front of Jagger himself. ❤🤣
Ikr so bold and brave 🤣
I loved the Mick Jagger impression Harry Styles did!!💋🤣
I was thinking the same thing. LOL the faces he makes
Fred is pure gold!
@@emilyluther6482 ìķkķ
This makes me love Mick Jagger even more. He’s obviously so confident to have people do an over the top, mocking impression right to an A+++ celebrity’s face. Love everything about this perfect sketch. Amazing.
Funny how some rock stars can really act- Mick Jagger, Justin Timberlake, Eminem, even Jon Bon Jovi while some can’t- Steven Tyler, Gene Simmons.
@@clairefreeman6273 uhh. Eminem is just average. Won't call him a good actor.
Mick Jagger ain't even a celebrity. He's a saint
I was so relieved Jagger didn't get up and really do his act. That would have been too easy and predictable.
Pretty funny sketch...
Amen! 😄
I never saw this, nor did I realize Jagger could do comedy like this. He played this dorky character perfectly.
Mick Jagger is so funny. His British accent makes the sketch more funnnier
ajaybhathire funnier without more *
English accent - there IS no "British accent.
There are many British accents you pleb.
@Dani it's a cockney accent
I swear to God it's like he's lived in America for so long that he is overdoing it and sounding Aussie at times xD
Imagine having to do an impression of Mick Jagger in front of Mick Jagger. :O
Chloé Traisnel Imagine having to do a purposely bad impression of Mick Jagger in front of Mick Jagger.
🤣
Yeah Kevin nailed it, sometimes I think it's even BETTER than Mick Jagger
Actually, I do a pretty good Jagger. I think that he'd be amused.
Mick Jagger🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Mick in disbelief:
"What era of Mick Jagger are we talking abouuuuttt??" 😅🤣😂
"I seriously feel like I'm in the same room with Mick Jagger." Underrated line.
When he follows it up after the having sex line, "wha YEAR we tawwwlking a'bouuuu?"
Her butt rubbed against his. That's how "in the same room" she was!
Lucky lucky lucky gal she was!🎉🎉❤🎉❤🎉
Mick Jagger looks like the boss at the insurance company where Mr. Incredible works
His name is Gilbert Huph by the way
This killed me haha
Spot on
I thought that was Jagger in the thumbnail but was not sure!!
🤣🤣🤣
"Don't be a jerk, SAAAAANDY!" 😂
Meanwhile her name tag clearly says Sally
Lol...My name is Sandy& I felt that🤣
Be Deeeeeceeent
OK I won't..😜
"He's falling asleep at the microphone"
" that's classic Jagger"
Sounds more like Jim Morrison. The killer awoke before dawn….. Rest In Peace Jim.
I love when stars can make fun of themselves. Mick is hilarious I wonder how he kept from laughing while singing.
What era Mick Jagger are we talking about? 😝🤣😂
Yeah that was super
Underrated best line in the skit
Excellent! It's good to point this out ... Considering Start Me Up came out... WTHECK 40 YEARS AGO??!# (a year after I graduated HS) and there are SO MANY different eras of Mick Jagger. Lol
🤣😂
Sympathy for the Devil is late 60's Jagger. And Sympathy for the Devil is not in the lyrics! 🤣
The best things in this :
Jagger trying hard not to break character, and barely making it
Frank's imitation is so over the top while spot on, it must have been really hard to pull if off in front of the source material
Jagger exaggerating his own accent
Jagger never actually doing Jagger, which the audience was surely dying for
I think that's why Vanessa Bayer kept addressing him as Kevin, to keep him in character.
I know!😀
Wow Alain, you're a comedy genius
@ Thanks. Working on it.
😂🤣😂🤣 This is so spot on. As he sung I was just waiting for him to break into a head shake, a shoulder move or a hand curl, but nothing, so that me made laugh too. I was pressed to see Jagger do Jagger while not playing Jagger.
That would've been THEE BEST!
"Sympathy for the devil, sympathy for the devil" - The way Bobby sings that and his facial expression literally makes me laugh out loud.
I love Fred Armisen. He's very talented and highly underrated.
I really liked him in Shang Chi.
To be on snl is a big accolade
On the internet every single entertainer is “underrated”. Or so the TH-cam comments would lead you to believe. Nonsense
Who else can imagine him saying “NOT FUNNY” when this was suggested
Yes that one NOT FUNNNNAYYY
No!
@@mr.mister7912 yeahhhh
@@peanutsthesquirrel5225 😂
I did. It seems pretty Mulaney.
Mick is fucking hilarious, he's got good comedic tone
Nathan Glennie Mick jagger is a legend not only can he sing he's a good actor(serious and comedic) there's only one Mick .
He played Ned Kelly afterall
I agree so funny this guy's hilarious
Yes he does!!
I kept thinking "good grief that could be Jeff Goldblum he is so dry and dead pan" then I started to think "hang on.... So many 'Mick Jagger' references... Oh my gosh.. NO WAY.... YES WAY!" LOL
That place in a star's life when he is so well known that he gets to parody himself. Priceless. :)
I saw Steve Perry get all 5,000 women in the venue crying. Lol.
He said, "These men are going to kill me..."
"...but if you were me, you'd do it, too!"
It was a jam/montage of "Cupid" by Sam Cooke. Then he made the audience (lots of chicks) sing, "I miss you, Stevie."
1994/95 tour. For the Love of Strange Medicine. Amazing stuff.
"What era Mick Jagger are we talking about?"
Great writing. And a brilliant performance by
Mick, who shows that he is a legitimate comedy performer.
For the fans, the stage antics (the rooster) and the song (Start me up) were about 10 years apart, so didn't synch.
Having to impersonate someone while in front of them? Now that's brutal! And props to Mick for going along with this sketch, it cracked me up 😂
SNL always punches the host in the stomach
I don't care what anyone says, Kevin does a great Mick Jagger impression.
Facts!
I bet he's got moves like Jagger too.
Oh my God.........🤣
🙌
When he's not asleep at the mic
The British accent adds to the hilarity of the sketch, absolutely. It’s nice that Mick was able to play along with this and he was a great sport. 😂
On Kristin Wigg's last show the last skit was made into a graduation ceremony and all the members of the cast danced with her. The first person to dance with her was Mick Jagger. Imagine, dancing with Mick Jagger to their tune "She comes in colors."
It was an amazing one. I think they did ruby Tuesday specifically for her...
@217ldp. That song is She's A Rainbow".
I heard that almost made her want to have sex with Mick.
Never was much of a Jagger fan, but credit where it's due, he was brilliant in this role. Nicely done, Mick!
Thanks man
@@tatayaya Why are you thanking this person? 🙄🙄🙄
@@suchabadkitty1293 Because EVEN a non-fan ( such as myself ) can see how good this skit is.
@@stellarocquie7957 I wasn't asking you anything tho.
What is the point of telling us you're not a fan ?
ohh mick jagger is just perfect in this one
Which one of them? I couldn't telle them apart. The impersionations were so great.
Have you seen Jagger in drag in the 1998 movie “bent”?
If this doesn’t endear you to Mick, you are not human.
The awwww from the audience after Kristen said "Not you Kevin" was so nice
Proof that Mick sold the audience on his character. Well done, Kevin!
Lol Bobby: 'Sympathy for the devil, sympathy for the devil!'. Mick: 'those aren't even the right lyrics'
Those lyrics are better!
So funny! Falling asleep at the mic!
@@jentleil2183 Classic Jagger 😂
I will never hear that song the same way again..

He's not even tryin', he's doin the YMCA dance, now!

sympathy for the devil! sympathy for the devil!
I loved Mick's humility and goofiness.
Will done Mick!
oh yes, he's so humble that he keeps most of his wealth
Fred doing ‘Jagger’ in front of Jagger is epic SNL - love this skit.
Frank looks like Mick Jagger more than Mick Jagger does in this one :D
it's ok I guess!
Mick Jagger looks like Fred more than Fred does. ;)
My mum met mick jagger and she thought “who’s this old guy that looks like mick jagger?” And she never knew
A younger one
Mick Jagger is truly brilliant in this sketch. Well done.
Mick Jagger does a GREAT shy, non-karaoking deadbeat boring friend who always just watches.
Very observant. And the other actors do a GREAT extroverted, karaoke-ing, obnoxious, vapid, ignorant group of friends who always act like general assholes.
@@vdussaut9182 Yes! We are all just basically caricatures of ourselves! Love it!
So do I! And I'm definitely playing a character too...
@@vdussaut9182 All that's normal band stuff, except sometimes the voice is on-key.
Who else was waiting for Jagger to take the stage ?
How sick to death do you think they have to be of those damn songs by now??
Lol
This is the skit John mulaney was talking about when he talked about Jagger on his hour special

That is one of the funniest sketches....I can't believe how funny Mick Jagger is!!!
I couldn't stop laughing! So meta! "I feel like I'm in the room with Mick Jagger!"
I'm glad it didn't end the "easy" way and just have him get up and blow everyone away. Such a funny ending.
Y 'all might be too young to remember, but John Belushi doing Joe Cocker on stage next to Joe Cocker (!) was AMAZING. JC reportedly hated Belushi's impression.
I remember that- it was awesome!! Hilarious, brilliant !!

Mick Jagger to John Mulaney: Not funnay.

cosminmoise13 He played Ned Kelly afterall
He’s brilliant, isn’t he!
Heck yea.... See: The Man from Elysian Fields
@@xlerosx Just added it to my prime watchlist. The premise isn't that appealing to me, but the cast is beyond excellent, so I'll try it out. I am so impressed with Jagger's acting in this skit.
He’s Awesome!!
Everyone who hosts SNL is a celebrity. Obviously. They’re all famous. But every so often they get a true elite of the elite host who exists in such rarefied air that they are almost peerless. Out of all of those people they’ve ever had who participated in every sketch we’ve ever seen, for my money this sketch with Mick Jagger is far and away the best. Not only is it hilarious. But he nailed it. I’ve always liked his music obviously. But this just made me love and respect him even more. He totally killed it.
Best version of Satisfaction he’s done in decades. Seriously.
I feel Warhol's vibe in Mick's acting haha
sister morphine I know right!? It reminds me of Bowie in Basquiat as Warhol
TOTALLY!!!!!!
I thought the same thing.
Just imagine him saying "YES" to all of this.
He probably suggested the sketch
"DIET COKE!!"
Why not? He's worth like 400 mil. Wtf does he care now? Lol
Please note: wealthiest drummer ever is Ringo. 350 mil. Not that drums aren't hard in themselves, BUT he's one of the easier ones to play.
A lot of guys are a lot of flash or hotdogging.. Even Buddy Rich said the drummer is there to support the band.
This is one of the best skits on snl. Especially mick is great! He really is a good comedian. And his english accent and big glasses make him even funnier. I can always get out of my usual depressive funk with a few chuckles.🤣
Great skit. Love it. Jagger has a great sense of humor too. He has the makings of an actor, a comedian, and has fronted the world’s greatest rock n’ roll band for 50 years. Amazing once in a lifetime talent. How he doesn’t laugh his ass off & break character is beyond me 🤷🏻♂️ He is an absolute legend!!! Mick & Keith here’s to the next 50!!!
yeah, don´t be a jerk Sandy !
Everyone imitating Mick Jagger in front of him is hilarious
Who knew Mick Jagger could do skit comedy! He's Great! Lol
Look for him.in elysium fields.
He plays thr sad sack unbelievably well. Like he lived it.
I never saw this before. This is too good. Fred does great early 80s Jagger

Fred Armisen's was the best!
Many years ago ,I was Mick's limo driver for 2 weeks. He would send me out to get him pizza

Kudos to Mick for coming to SNL and doing this skit. Brings back memories of him playing Keith with Mike Meyers as Mick on Weekend Update.
Respect for people who take jokes and play them about themselves even when the can rightly ef anyone to do so. Lots of respect. You are the man, great musician, good actor, and outstanding person, Mick
"He's fallen asleep at the microphone!"
Omg I love this skit! Brilliant.
What was great for me, is that I didn't realise that was Mick for the first minute or two. At first I was like, "Oh, who's this? Must be a comedian, cos he has great comic timing & delivery." It was only once the impersonations started that I started thinking, "Now hang on...!"
