yes, exactly. that and "but i used deflect right when he shot" or the " but i reached Cover right before D.va's mech actually exploded" or "that bullet DID miss me on my screen". it basicly makes your close calls and fast decisions more accurate. I really really love that they finally went up to 60.

+Overwatch Clips is this something that has to be enabled manually.
this speed is not upload speed or download speed.
This is effected by your ping, which is effected by the quality of your connection, and location, and traffic on the network.
Having a high upload and download speed only gives you priority on the network for a set amount, however your connection speed only really effects how much can be downloaded or uploaded at one time to the node you're connected to, download "speed" is about how much information can pass at one time, limited by the provider to the set speed.
0:29 look at the right guys elbow, bottom right corner of the screen, just above the table. There's a dark spot there that appears and disappears quickly. I think it happens multiple times throughout but I'm on mobile and I can't be arsed to check.

If someone leaves the game early in competitive give the team with one less player a damage multiplier to balance the game
that would be terribly unbalanced. give a bot instead
But what if a support leaves? Still damage buff? Or give passive healing? Or increase healing from the remaining support? Too much to balance
And this is why players shouldn't be making balancing decisions for the Dev Team.
I'm not going to call one idea better or worse than another, since anything would need to be thoroughly tested in PTR... but *_SOMETHING_** needs to be done.*

Well, you get killed around a corner due to their "favor the shooter" setup as opposed to tick rate. That's why Roadhog hooks get you when you are a mile around the corner...they have it setup to favor the Roadhog and what they see as opposed to what you see as the person getting hooked around the corner. Tick rate is barely factored in when it comes to getting hit around the corner.

It was through a skinny part of the map so there was no way he could have had LOS. I wasn't even coming in and out of cover, just staying behind cover healing for a second.

Seriously though, it's a bit criminal that a game this good doesn't support it :(
21:9 is the aspect ratio used in ultrawide monitors like the Acer Predator X34. 16:9 is the standard aspect ratio, so 21:9 gives much more horizontal resolution on the screen.
The main downside is that not all media content and games, like Overwatch, support 21:9, which means you'll get black bars on either side of the display.

A cooldown on his double jump would fix him. He still has his reflect, he still has stupid damage output and mobility.. It's just not fair that you're RELYING on the enemy not being able to even aim at you to make a character useful. I often pick on enemy Genjis with that exact same premise, especially after closing the gap and then killing them as Symmetra, having taken zero damage.

I think the best way will be filters f.e. if you dont feel you want to play on QM hanamura map or Route 66 you can block it because theyre RNG map system is not so good I stayed on same server and we got Volskaya 3 times and some good maps didnt even apppear so making map filter for quick play would be good it will gave you more power to customize your game

It's been nearly invisible, but now that you mention it, oddities like lag, getting hit around corners, and such have occurred way less in Overwatch than in any other game I've played online. So good job!
I must say, i love what you guys did regarding online for Overwatch. You're one of the few games i've played where i am able to play with friends from all over the world with little to no connection issue. I've played from friends in Jamaica, South Africa, Singapore, Philippines, America, England. You can't do that with most games unless you switch servers. Really congrats to you for this.

I love this so much. These guys are just simply telling us what's going on in a semi easy to understand way. They don't seem scripted, they're just telling us what's up, and why it's up. Prefect, this level of interaction should be the standard, not the exception.
I think rolling out this new netcode will bring back a lot of players who hated dying behind cover. Thanks for working on this.

The tickrate update has been in for a while now, there was an option for it last time I looked.You've probably been playing on the "high preferred" setting for a while now, so nothing has changed.
What this update has done for me is that every game an icon or two (depends on something?) icons pop up on the far left side of the screen, one is a lightning bolt with an almost full circle around it and the other looks like 3 cards or squares and a second or two after the symbols pop up everyone in game sort of teleports a slight distance and at times skills and/or regular shots that have been shot during the teleport don't have any animation and so I often die to literally nothing, anyone have any sort of idea what this is? It's not a huge deal but it can be annoying cus I've fallen out of maps and gotten killed by literally nothing a few times, shouldn't be that it's my internet not keeping up cus it's quite good at least compared to other players in other multiplayer games where you can see everyones ping.
you might be experiencing spike lagg? check your resource monitor to see if anything is clogging anything up
they took down the East Coast Servers on PS4 with the Season 2 patch. So anyone who lives on the East Coast now is forced into servers in California resulting in horrible lag and packet loss.

You can turn those icons off through options -> gameplay -> network quality notifications. I think they siginify a packet loss and... something else. Something to do with network stuff.

It's 60hz across the board now. It used to be that you were playing a 60hz game, but seeing it in 20hz
60pps (packages per second, this got nothing to do with Hz) is in place since Lucioball started. Had the network stats open half the time to see if my connection was crapping out or it was DDOS again.
toms cirulis I stated facts. If you don't believe them, then you're uninformed. Go watch the last Netcode Dev Update video they did. They explicitly state that the server updates at 62.5hz, and clients update at 20.8hz. In other words, the server / the game was deciding what was officially happening at 62.5hz, and it was notifying everyone about the current state of the game every 20.8 hz. So saying that you were playing a 60hz game and watching it in 20hz is essentially correct. If you think I'm retarded, then I challenge you to use your superior intellect to explain why I'm wrong.

The level of communication we're getting from the devs is great.The explanation with the paper cup Pharahs was such a simple, clear (and cute) way of explaining things.

its based on skill, i won 5 games out of 10 and i got 2800 platinum

I'm pretty sure it is based on performance, not just W/L. My mate and I placed together, yet were several hundred apart. The space between us fluctuates regularly, I assume based on our performance.

Sad part is the whole "roll out" for those with poor connections means this will hardly improve. As they still get favored with their worse connection, so you'll still get blown up even after your dash, you'll get pulled out of your ice cube. Your Pharah rockets will still disappear mid flight when you die.
+Sherrif As someone who plays pharah a lot, the rockets vanishing midflight is completely absurd.. I have a really solid connection and face this problem all the time. I'm not even talking about me feeling that the rocket should have fired, I'm talking about it literally vanishing in midair before it hits (and potentially kills) my target
That's not how it works Sheriff. If your own connection is stable, the server will see you as having evaded their attacks, regardless of how bad the attacker's connection is, because you are still getting the increased updates and more importantly, the increased "cmdrate" which is your data going out to the server. With your inputs going out more often, the server is far less likely to miss that you evaded the attack.
deadpenguinss It doesn't matter how fast your connection is or how "solid" you feel it is. Your data still has to go through multiple routing stations to reach the server and packets can be dropped anywhere. The best thing you can do to avoid this is not play at prime time when everyone and their dog is on the internet.
IntrebuloN I'm afraid it is how their netcode works, it's "Favor the Shooter" and unless somebody has 500+ ping, if they hit you on their screen then they get the hit, no matter how dodged it seems.

It's basically the different "moments". The Pharah the enemies see, the Pharah you play and the Pharah model that is actually in the game.
Left = Where Pharah is for you trying to shoot her
Middle = Where Pharah is for server
Right = Where Pharah is for player playing her

Great to see that you are working actively on making this game the best experience it can be. I sincerely thank you for your efforts. That said, however, the last few days have seen some of the worst connection, lag, rubber-banding, disconnecting and general garbage net experience I and many people I game with (RL friends/family, online friends as well) have had with Overwatch. I appreciate the work, it just seems worse than ever now.

So far this upgrade to the netcode has had a noticeable impact on my gameplay, not I find myself in a lot less frustrating 'pulled around three corners and a city' situations so thank you. I would like to see the over all tick rate stabilise a bit more. My internet is pretty beast and I am generally the only one using it, I keep it constantly monitored and during a match myself and a few of the people I play with have all noticed spikes in ping and the like which can be frustrating. Otherwise keep up the amazing work!

Loving these changes, really glad you guys are constantly improving this already fantastic game.
Here's hoping you can sort out the mouse acceleration (lag whatever it's called) issues the game still suffers from, there is a delay from the moment I move my mouse to where as it registers in the game. It's had this at least from the beta, up until the latest patch.
Sure there are some issues that crop up every now and then but i can honestly say that this is the BEST online fps i have ever experienced. The fact that you are active and on point with updates gives the game that much more longevity and I commend your efforts and hope you continue to do well in the future!

Yeah...When I'm running at 40 ping, blink on tracer, see my in game position, blink vfx, etc, all go off, and then die right back where I blinked from, AND watch the kill cam to see that I never blinked in the first place? For those who don't quite understand: High bandwidth servers mean that info is processed more quickly. So if you're being shot and and turn a corner, it will become less likely that you will die even if on your screen you got away. When you send a command, the server accepts it faster and send that info to the other players faster.
Great video, I think we all appreciate the feedback. Imo no matter the netcode (which definitely feels better after the 60 tick update), favour the shooter will still hinder the ability of players to dodge certain abilities - I am still noticing this with tracer and some other heroes even at 60 tick.
