Hey guys, exciting news- I Finally went on Patreon :) www.patreon.com/YoniSchlesinger I will post there new Tutorials/ Tabs for most of my arrangememts. From time to time I'll make live home shows and all kind of different sessions . I Also upload videos berfore they go public on my chanel, some behind the scene, bloopers etc.. It will be fun. See you there.
You're a great teacher too! You show more than just the specific notes or strumming pattern, but go into how to get the vibe and more subtle details that really make the arrangement feel like music, which a lot people don't really touch on. Awesome stuff, thanks
Very impressive how you managed to teach something you do naturally. I know how hard it's to teach something we simply just know how to do without thinking about it.
Hi yoni, it's my real pleasure watching you play this my favourite song in the 1988 while I was a student and I presented this song in my college music competition and it's a nostalgia for my yesteryear and Now I am 54yrs old , but started playing guitar again after 26yrs. These days, I have learnt scales, pentatonic and Now Blues scale too. One thing , I noticed myself from your playing stuff, is your mastery level in which you are capable of producing sounds which we are looking for. That's incredible and I like it. Your English is of a little bit looking like Middle east accent but it sounds good when you sing it. So, big thumbs up from my side.
I love the way you sang the riff at same time you played it. Shows how perfectly you understand what you’re doing. You are blowing up. These covers are amazing.
Thanks so much for this!! I learnt so much from this lesson! It was a really strange strumming / picking pattern for me at first but now I am finding it useful playing other songs too - for example Moby - Slipping Away. It sounds so good and so fitting for that too (probably because of the similarity in the drums), thank you Yoni for sharing your knowledge!!
Hi everyone! I don't know if all of you read the description of the videos, so I just put it also here: First of all, tnx so much for your lovely comments. Yoni
6:57 Wow!! A very important piece of info guys. He was a Drummer before he became a guitar player. Now I am able to connect the dots... How He really nails down the rhythm so well in each and every cover.
I was playing this song with original chords and very frustrated when doing it because it sounded bad, now with this class it sounds much better, thank you very much for sharing. greetings from Mexico
The way u teach is awesome coz it incorporates base/drums in it someone has to feel what you feel to understand n this helped me alot my favourite song ever for life
Thank you for taking the time to share your skills Yoni..a great lesson, found this after finding your cover by accident..a brilliant one by the way..Cheers from NZ
Thank you so much for this tutorial! You're like a magician revealing your secrets to us. Do you have any favorite finger and picking exercises you use to build your precision and technique? I've been playing for years but neither of my hands move with your level of effortless consistency. Thanks again and looking forward to everything you post!
Hey man, sorry for not replying till now. Its a good quesion. I'm gonna past here an answer I gave in my latest video (Here Comes The Sun), for a similar question: " I wanna talk about it one day in a tutorial or something but in the meantime I can tell you this: Stop thinking that your'e a guitar player- be a drummer that also create music beside the groove that comes out of your hands. Many years before I touched the guitar the first time (which means before the age of 9) , I use to drum on the tables at the classroom. I memorized every bit and nuance of every song I knew (Was listennig to Metallica, GNR etc.) and when I started play the guitar I just felt that the chords and the notes are in addition to the rhythm, and not come before it. This is how I treat songs even today- Groove before melody/ Harmony " Hope it helped you a bit. Good Luck!
Thank you 🙏 Could you make more tutorials videos like this please. It's really helpfull because after we can play the song with just one guitar and this is exactly what I'm looking for.
Thanks for sharing this with us. Great tutorial, loved it. I play this song the usual way, like Andy Summers. But it is a bit of a stretch and it took a while to learn. Love the way you incorporated both the rhythm and melody together. I am definitely going to learn it. Lastly thank you for generosity in sharing your knowledge 🙏
Thanks Yoni for the tutorial. On the original I was thinking where is the loop pedal until I realised it was all being played in front of me. Like you I play finger style, have done for over 50years, and find it difficult picking using a plectrum so I will have to see how far I can get with your tutorial. Next tutorial has to be Sultans of Swing please, great finger style version. Regards from over the water in Cyprus
Amazing lesson, Yoni! Toda raba! Any reason why you don't strum alternating strum here? Specifically: Down Up Down (kick) Up Down Up Down (kick) Up Is it just because of habit? It seems to me that alternate strum in this case is a little more efficient and it still preserves the desired rhythm. But I'm not a great strummer, so I may be wrong.
Great tutorial! Can you do a series of tutorials about your finger style playing (like in all of the mark knofler songs you cover)? It will be a hit if you did that.
É uma pena eu não saber falar inglês hehe então eu olho e tento fazer igual! Um dia aprenderei tocar essa música ao qual eu acho lindíssima! Aqui no Brasil tem a versão dela com a Rita Lee
Hey can you do a tutorial for some of the songs that you done for the B&G guitar videos? As they have tabbed them out on the B&G website, would be a great introduction to your finger-style method for this of us relying on tabs? Ps keep doing what you're doing living the covers!!

I don't even play guitar but I still watched the whole thing. It always makes me happy watching you, keep on doing what you do!

so the plot unfolds.... your amazing sense of rhythm is due to the fact that you were a drummer! .. your work is amazing!
I like the way you explain... simple and professional at the same time.... great job 👍
I love the way you sang the riff at same time you played it. Shows how perfectly you understand what you’re doing. You are blowing up. These covers are amazing.

This guy is amazing! He literally turns the guitar into an extension of his hands...
6:57 Wow!! A very important piece of info guys. He was a Drummer before he became a guitar player. Now I am able to connect the dots... How He really nails down the rhythm so well in each and every cover.
What he meant is that he thinks about the rhythm/drums first… not that he literally was a drummer.
I was playing this song with original chords and very frustrated when doing it because it sounded bad, now with this class it sounds much better, thank you very much for sharing. greetings from Mexico
