+Big Southern Bows Mine look NOTHING like yours lol but with twins, I've had to manage.... bows can get VERY expensive when buying for two, so I have tried my best 😂
+virginia b I totally understand the expense! I make bows for a lady with twins. It's really a matter of consistent practice. Like sitting in front of the tv and making the same bow over and over. I hope it works out for you.
+Michelle Gosnell well I've never used zip ties but there are several cheer bow videos that use them. So I would say give it a try. The only thing that might be a problem is that little plastic piece that is used to tighten the center. It would be hard to add a clip or barrette or cover the center with a knot.
+Crafty Queen yes they really do cost a lot plus most of them are flat from shipping once they reach the stores. The original Jojo bows are precious and cute but not when they come flat and wrinkled for $15.
I have been using this technique to make my daughter's bows for over 10 years now, and never thought to stiffen the ribbon. Will definitely give that a try, looked alot more, "formed." Also, I prefer to have two tails (even on my 3 inch ribbon bows), one in the front and one in the back, not a fan of just one tail. That is just me, though. Is there a reason why you only make 1 front tail, or is that just 1 of the styles you make? I am also going to try sewing on the clip on instead of my handy dandy hotglue. Great video, learned some great stuff.
Yes the hairspray is a game changer! As far as the tail goes I don't always do the tail on the top because it's practically hidden anyway. But it's just a preference. Thanks for watching.
The French barrettes can be found at hobby lobby. Smaller size barrettes are sold at Walmart. They can be found online also. The plastic headband holder I'm using can be found at wholesalegirls.com.

I love huge hairbows I've been making huge hairbows for 10 plus years I know how to make every kind of bow but this is great cause I can see how to properly fold the ribbon I love big bows but they are a pain in the butt because the ribbon is so huge and its,so slippery when trying to make the bow but thanks for this video
I had a lot of trouble with that to. If you watch my first set of videos I don't hand fold. I just use my salon clip with needle and thread. That may work better for you.
The number one reason to switch to hair spray is skin allergies. Hair sprays are made to be on skin, and there's inexpensive hypoallergenic hairsprays. I have had girls react to Stiffen Quick on cheer teams.
I know it can be so frustrating especially with 3 inch wide ribbon. It took me forever to get it right and I still make so many mistakes! Constant practice is the key lol. Thanks for watching!

You did not explain clearly about folding the ribbons to make the loops. So I did not find your video helpful at all. If I knew how to make the loops, I wouldn’t need to watch this. I’m going to find a better, more clearly instructed video.

Well it depends how big you want the bow to be. I'd say 42-44 inches for a large bow.

With the hair spray, what happens if you wash the bow? Will the stiffness still remain? Is there a sealer thay would keep it stiff no matter what?
