One thing I've not heard anyone discuss is the fact the loki is supposed to be deceiving as we were led on when he asked luffy to release him. How ever when asked to join the celestial dragons he outright refused. He didn't even pretend to join them so they release him from the tree. I think this is very telling that he isn't truly deceptive
Simple, king Harold shielded the holy knights from Loki's attack with his body just so to not incite the wrath of hoy knight (world government) And yet Loki only explain the situation to the Giants as "yeah I did it" after the king died
I seriously hope that for all his sins that Road gets the Caesar Clown treatment: A punching bag for the Straw Hats, the supporting cast, the main antagonists throughout the adventure. 😂
What Road said about the Giants drinking so much that they forget why they were celebrating concerns me. Loki will probably get out of his restraints and wreak havoc before any of them have a chance to sober up enough to do anything helpful.

56:47 I think he also chose to allow the wolf to be killed because he knew the wolf was a true Elbaf warrior and would gladly give his life for his warrior's honor!
Lokis father just was like Kuma(a former King) and Bonney turned into Nikka after his death. Maybe this was part of the phrophecy and Harald misinterpreted it thinking that the phrophecy meant him and Loki instead of Kuma and Bonney.
The whole Loki section just felt like the start of the Oden flashback. And that's when we were comparing him to Hercules, and the obvious good guy in the story.
I was listening to another podcast, and then my soul trampled and I knew exactly what it was, JB new video just dropped, I just opened TH-cam and this video was in my homepage. not joking
58:30 I can imagine the next chapter opening with the wolf hanging from the bandages and then Zoro appears and slices the bandages to save the wolf's life, this solidifying the Loki/Straw Hat alliance!
@@JoyBoyTheories There is no twin and shanks is evil. 1. Loki is a good guy. 2. The giants believe he’s bad. 3. Shanks met Loki, heard his side of the story and still said, “Nah. You’re evil. The giants said so.”? Of course not. Since shanks is impartial. He would definitely side with Loki after hearing the truth and try to reconcile between them. But he didn’t. He beat up Loki and dragged him back to elbaf. Why? Because he tried to recruit him. Loki refused. So he dragged to elbaf and said, “Here’s your king murderer”.
@@JoyBoyTheoriesAs for the informants they sent, evil shanks mentioned that after Loki refused to join. Implying that it’s for something else, not Loki. Joyboy it's been a long run!!!!! I love your channel and have been with you for decades following your One Piece Theories! I get emotional every time I sit and think about how far the story of One Piece has come. I still remember being in my early teens like a decade + ago at the time watching the Little Garden Arc on Toonami at the time and now we're here! Thoughts on the chapter I have that stuck out to me are the Giants interactions with Jinbe! I loved how genuinely curious and interested the Giants seemed to be with Jinbe and the Fishmen people overall, especially since the whole world outside of Elbaf has a more negative perception of the Fishmen. It is interesting to note with this also that some Giants have never traveled outside their country before so it really hits home here the difference between the Giants' more positive curiosity about the Fishmen people (some who have only met a fishmen first-hand now from Jinbe) in comparison to the rest of the human world some having seen Fishmen first hand before. I am also very excited to see Luffy's reaction to seeing "fake shanks," I would like to think his maturity/haki would allow him to know the difference between the mysterious man not being "real shanks," but we'll see it's Luffy here so at the same time he very well could be thrown off. It is also in my head cannon that "fake shanks," is the Man Marked by flames, Oda has not revealed his full face yet because I feel when he does "fake shanks," will have a burn scar on the side thus revealing who the man in question is. Real Shanks has BlackBeards scar on his face while "fake shanks" will have a burn scar on his.
I noticed that Gunko’s attack to the wolf looks exactly the same to me as Imu’s attack to Cobra. A band with an arrow at the end. Not sure what it means, would love to hear theories.
It’s definitely a classic One Piece feel if JoyBoy is droppin hour long videos. My favorite content to watch on TH-cam by FAR I love to see it 🔥🔥 You helped motivate me to catch up to one piece faster years ago because I wanted to watch your current videos at the time

So I just finished the video: Awesome job. Im thinking Imu isn't the final boss, but the thing that gives him his powers. BB is going to get his hands on that power. Nika's fruit, and the source of Imu's powers have been at war since the beginning. The 2 previous sun gods failed to defeat the evil source.
My ritual is smoking a bowl/joint. You and hidden island are my favorite youtubers to smoke too. Awsome theory's, thought provoking and just the perfect tone to chill too.
Before this chapter I thought Loki killed King Harald to liberate Elbaph from the manipulation of the World Government, but now it feels like he needed to kill King Harald in order to liberate them from the king's royal decree to never discipline or show any hate towards himself. With the king dead everyone was free actually express themselves and vocalize how they actually felt about the prince and seeing how much they actually resented him he went off to sea only to be captured and returned to the island by Shanks.
Another banger from you, Joyboy! Great review! About the Joy Boy candidates, that reminds me of how specific Kaido’s phrase was when Luffy fell: you could not be him either. It is as if he knew that someone could TRY to become JoyBoy. The same reason to why Roger said that his kid was going to be the next Joy Boy. Furthermore, I like to think that the nature of Joy Boy (good vs evil) is defined through the winning Joy Boy candidate. In this case, both our Candidates are Luffy and Black Beard. It just so happens that Black Beard is NOT the candidate that Roger WANTS. Does not mean that he is not a candidate….
It's great that we are reading Elbaph together every step of the way, i'm also loving Jarul he's so nonchalant about the sword in his head and I laughed when he said "My helmet saved me in the end". Also it's amusing that not even Loki wants to work for the World Nobles and comparing it to becoming scum, it really aligns with what happened to the Donquixote Family and that pretty much everyone hates the World Nobles baring most Nobility.
I just had this thought. Carrot y was she made the queen of zou. Y did oda write it that she snuck onto the sunny without asking for permission My theory was the minks need her to stay she cannot leave zou. Look up gabiru d rat carrot dark past theory 4 reference but seeing them trying to recruit a giant makes me wonder what if carrot mother is a knight n lindberg took her back to zou to save her. The reason they keep her there is because the wg considers carrot their property and will kidnap her back. Theres a ton more and i do have reasons y i think all this i just cant get it all on youtube comments
Self fullfilling prophecy....but also imagine if someone like mother Carmel was the one who not only pushed for their demilitarization but also planted the seed of destruction through the profecy
8:23 100% agreed. This has definitely come up before when Luffy first awakened: I'm not worried about the course of the story and how prophecy would normally affect these types of stories. Won't pretend to know how, but I'm confident to subvert prophecy that is dictating his path, Luffy will deny that destiny that definitely contradicts his character and the point of One Piece.
Since One Piece often references various religions, listening to the video you mentioned about King Herald reminded me of the shift between the Old and New Testaments in the Bible. In the Old Testament, God is a vengeance machine, while in the New Testament, He becomes more forgiving and compassionate.
A one hour video JB? It's been a long time for me this felt more like a reintroduction to the arc for the year after the several weeks off, bit of lore and edging characters on the cusp of everything hitting the fan. Honestly though, I don't vibe with the prophecy idea. I don't think it's legitimate in-world either, it's just superstition like how the horse died not long after Loki's birth. Granted, nurture may play a role in Loki's despotic ways, but he is also someone who is driven in a similar manner to Yamato, just in a negative way. His rejection of the Gods Knights shows he has honour to him, which makes him a bit more layered, and knowing that Shanks helped in his defeat explains his feelings towards Shanks and his friendship with the other giants, so we're getting a lot of subtle work done with Loki. Currently, I see him a lot like I see Crocodile, objectively bad but with the capacity of being an ally under certain circumstances. Harold does seem to have more to his story if the panel obscures his face, he may be our next tragic backstory character. It was interesting to get a bit more Nika lore, with it coming from differing translations of text is clever and logical too, but it does give more context as to why the WG would want to keep Luffy's fruit out of anyone's hands. I liked how Zoro knew about Loki's deal with Luffy, because Luffy does always need the skeptic to keep him balanced, I think he also wants to size up Loki himself since he doesn't want to purely operate on public opinion. The old trio going to the castle will lead them to find the Knights' handiwork to the two giants, possibly guided by the lore of Rodo - who might engage in his own kind of redemption. Zoro needs to ditch the goggles though I couldn't take his intimidation seriously with it on XD We've had our first name of a current Holy Knight, Gunko, with her pantsless design in a winter realm...but Oda's been super shrewd about Shanks but not Shanks, hiding the scarred side of the face and not showing their arms. Gunko's powers are unique, might be a ribbon power similar to Diamante's, but it may only operate via the arrow. It could also be an extension of Imu's power, since they had that spiked tail thing to stab Sabo and Cobra with? As for recruitment, I don't think it's weakness, Garling was their leader and now he's a Gorosei, it's filling a slot.
not that confident, other than his relation to other giants and Hajrudin! Just an easy assumption. Personally I think he was a liar, but also good at heart. Some mix of that.
I said the same thing to my friend that put me on OP years ago bout it possibly being banned after the world realize it’s going to go down as one of the greatest stories ever told cause of its parallels to reality
Just saw something interesting now on episode 174 anime. It looks like Nika fighting some sort of human with few snake heads. Could be a hint to the old fight that happened between Nika and Imu.
ngl I thought that when he was stalling, that jb baited himself into talking for another 20 min. But managed to wrap up quickly. A true professional yapper.
I see that some reviewers think that Loki may have another version of the Sun God devil fruit. Going off of Oda’s meticulous way of incorporating philosophies and mythologies. I think Loki may have some type of devil fruit that represents Surtr (the fire giant that brings forth flames that will engulf the earth).
Wait hold up you saying black beard might have been experimented on reminded me of when Saturn & his crew where talking & they both acknowledged BB as special
1. Given how Wano is an archipelago made of different seasonal islands as well as the giants skull on Onigashima what if Wano is made up of the remnants of an older Elbaph that got destroyed 2 I feel the Holy Knights will try to attempt to recruit Colon's dad or even Oars or a member of the Oars Family 3 King Herald's death reminds me of the passing of King Duncan in Macbeth 4 the prospect of Elbaph having been destroyed twice in the past maybe Elbaph in those days was known as Nakrowa aka Dreamland or Nakrowa was part of the old Elbaph 5 the prophecy could be a manifestation of a secondary ability of the owl seeing the bigger picture aka the future 6 in the Skypeia arc we saw the Nika figure with the spear and shield slaying a many headed snake 7 Rudin & Loki are half-brothers 8 I'm hoping we get a flashback on how Who's Who failed in guarding the Nika fruit and Shanks procuring said fruit
I love the way your mind works, it's similar to my own. What if the handed down devil fruit in elbaf (fruits have their own will) works similar to the founding titan in attack on titan which forces you into pacifism!
I feel like when they asked Loki if he would join them if they spared the wolf was a test. Why would they want someone in their ranks that shows sympathy. Since he refused them still it probably showed them that he would be perfect to become a gods knight and are even more intrigued and interested in recruiting him.
So something hit me while listening to your rant about the parallels between Loki and Hajrudin and Luffy and Usopp. This isn't related to Elbaph, but Usopp has quite the reputation. I would imagine that tons of children out there want to be like the brave Captain/God Usopp. What if, over time, these desires manifest into a devil fruit, retroactively turning Usopp, or rather his legacy, into a Nika-tier figure? How's that for a laugh tale?
I got the impression this chapter that there might've been two Joyboys (who did different things durig the void century) but I find the concept of there only being one better. Bascially, he was such a grand figure that history and its people (including the giant warrior pirates who come with co-captains) can't conceptualize him as one person.
Anyone else notice the panel with lokis weapon being an absolutely massive hammer and not an ax? Is that thors hammer mjoulinir? Is God D. Usopp getting his hands on that?
This was classic "One Piece" right here. Going back to its roots. If I laugh out loud even once during a chapter, we're back to classic "One Piece".

As for recruitment, I don't think it's weakness, Garling was their leader and now he's a Gorosei, it's filling a slot.
Awesome!
So excited for this preparing my "ritual'
TH-camr says "Without further Ado"

it took me one day to get this lmao
I was waiting for this since I saw the tweet lol
1 hour video🤩
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
0:14 literally on the same wavelength lmao I’m bout to roll up
Hehe Im packing my bong
JB! Great vid! I gotta ask though, why are you so confident King Harold was actually a good man?
not that confident, other than his relation to other giants and Hajrudin!
It might be, is the picture you saw from. Skypiea?
Yup it was from the episode 174 of the anime!!!
I hour video! JB thank you 🥹
ngl I thought that when he was stalling, that jb baited himself into talking for another 20 min. But managed to wrap up quickly. A true professional yapper.
"Everybody Loves Loki." I'd probably watch that sitcom
wow you are rly cooking
I see that some reviewers think that Loki may have another version of the Sun God devil fruit. Going off of Oda’s meticulous way of incorporating philosophies and mythologies. I think Loki may have some type of devil fruit that represents Surtr (the fire giant that brings forth flames that will engulf the earth).
LMAO The random stray God got hit with forty something odd minutes into the the video is so unhinged
Hell yeah!!!
Loki's childhood looks similar to Oden's, I think they would have been good friends if they had met each other.
Wait hold up you saying black beard might have been experimented on reminded me of when Saturn & his crew where talking & they both acknowledged BB as special
1. Given how Wano is an archipelago made of different seasonal islands as well as the giants skull on Onigashima what if Wano is made up of the remnants of an older Elbaph that got destroyed
2 I feel the Holy Knights will try to attempt to recruit Colon's dad or even Oars or a member of the Oars Family
3 King Herald's death reminds me of the passing of King Duncan in Macbeth
4 the prospect of Elbaph having been destroyed twice in the past maybe Elbaph in those days was known as Nakrowa aka Dreamland or Nakrowa was part of the old Elbaph
5 the prophecy could be a manifestation of a secondary ability of the owl seeing the bigger picture aka the future
6 in the Skypeia arc we saw the Nika figure with the spear and shield slaying a many headed snake
7 Rudin & Loki are half-brothers
8 I'm hoping we get a flashback on how Who's Who failed in guarding the Nika fruit and Shanks procuring said fruit
I love the way your mind works, it's similar to my own. What if the handed down devil fruit in elbaf (fruits have their own will) works similar to the founding titan in attack on titan which forces you into pacifism!
when you go to like but are too excited and over-shoot it and accidentally d**like
I feel like when they asked Loki if he would join them if they spared the wolf was a test.
Was the first Sun God a giant which explains the giant straw hat?
Zoro getting to cross blades with other Shanks would be super dope too, like a parallel to Mihawk x Shanks
Is there a tutorial to how to shade and color exactly like you
Mosa is King Harold!?!?! I'm with you bro! 💯😗 💨
Man, JB, you sure do spin a convincing yarn. You should write a book or something.
Man 1 hour I’m so pumped
Crazy because if you study the gap theory in theBible, the world has been flooded twice. I wonder if Oda read about it,
I got the impression this chapter that there might've been two Joyboys (who did different things durig the void century) but I find the concept of there only being one better. Bascially, he was such a grand figure that history and its people (including the giant warrior pirates who come with co-captains) can't conceptualize him as one person.
“Ok…hmm…yeah…um hmm” LMFAO!
im getting major 2015 flash backs from this video ahha
Every giant wants to be the sun god even Loki who is cosplaying the Sun god of destruction
“A king of destruction can be a god of creation.” Reign: The Conquerer
Anyone else notice the panel with lokis weapon being an absolutely massive hammer and not an ax? Is that thors hammer mjoulinir? Is God D. Usopp getting his hands on that?
Oda is cooking up a miraculous meal
