Local Railgun Expert here, finally dealing with Railgun speeds! Assuming the thumbnail isn’t clickbait an object weighting 436.2kg moving at Mach 8 (9878kph) would produce 1,642,059,074.4887 Joules of force. Which is 1.6 billion! To put it into tons of TNT, that would be an impressive 0.4 tons of TNT. (imperial) Should have made it heavier. And yes, I know a good portion of the weight gets cut off by the detachable blocks. But I’m NOT going through the effort to calculate that

Your best hit was at 28:18 with 5998 km/h. That results in 638,239,102.2 Joules, that's 638 million Joules. That's enough to leave a 10.25 metre crater if you crash into normal soil ground and ~8.96 metres if you hit solid rock. Calculations: KE = 0.5 * mv² m = 459.9 as shown at 26:45 v = 1666 (5998 / 3,6) as shown at 28:18 That comes to 638,239,102.2 Joules. You're gonna have to trust me with the crater, I'm too lazy to write it out now.
If you didn't know this already but building alien engines next to each other they cancel each other out and make the build slower (on console) Idk about PC but all I know is that's a less efficient way than putting engines behind each other but you do have to sacrifice space forward and backwards, so that's why you don't see many drag racers that don't look like a noodle other than people with warp drives
I make a lot of super fast things in trailmakers, if you put the Stabilizing fins as close to but still behind the center of mass as you can, it works the best for agility, and If you put the fins as far back as possible, it max's out the stability in sacrifice of agility.
i have an idea to make hitting the targets easier, place a altitude sensor on the target and on the missile, and make so they are set in the same altittude, that way you can see if ur in the right altittude to hit the target which should hopefully make it easier
Can you re-visit this Project after the next trailmakers update? they are adding screen controlled servos and im sure you will be able to create a build that uses those with wings in order to fly in the direction you look, giving you far greater accuracy for cruise missile builds
I think you should make a logibob that's much bigger (sacrifice the programming for the sake of a larger target), specifically for high speed target testing. Call him Largibob. XD Also, if you want to minimize phasing at higher speeds, the game really does not like calculating single block thick collisions, so if you double-up and add another layer of thickness to the strike face, that *should* lower the chances of phasing and crashing from weird impact calculations.

I experimented with different layouts while testing for this video, but I found that this was the most stable method for planes.

You need to no drag the 2x2x1 sloped pieces on the sides. They will act like an air brake when using the throttle.

Your already using zero drag glitch. why don't you make it easy for yourself and went space map. there's also no boarder that you can hit.

You should put it right on the outside of a tunnel or bridge gap so you have more of a bigger area to hit
