How do you set up flash function settings to fire my studio strobes? I do not use triggers. I want to plug my old 30 year old White Lighting studio strobes in the sync terminal on the camera body with a sync cord from the strobes. My screen goes almost black and can not see live mode when I try to do this.

@@anthonydennis460 you probably need to turn off “preview exp and white balance in manual mode” I can’t remember which menu it’s in but you can map one of your buttons to cycle through the different settings. If you’re using flash you just need to make sure you’re not previewing your exposure so you can actually see.

Very informative video, thanks a lot ! I have few other questions : (1) do you use back button focusing ? (2) Generally, are you in AF-s/c/m ? (3) Do you expose manually or in aperture/shutter priority ?

Hi some great tips here. I have just bought an X-T4. I have it set for focus but I’m noticing I’m able to still shoot when focus has not locked on and the red warning simple is flashing is there another setting that is needed to set this up as it seems odd that it is not doing what it is intended to do and that is focus then shoot.

There is a setting for that! I can't remember off the top of my head but all you need to set your AF-S or AF-C priority to Focus rather than Release. I believe the default setting for AF-C is release which would allow the camera to take a picture if it wasn't in focus.

Very informative. I'm mainly a video guy but I've been dabbling more with photo. I liked your video and subscribed to your channel!
