- Charming American woodcock entertaining large audiences with funky dancing in Bryant Park in New York City.
A group of American woodcock doing funky funny dance walking and foraging in the park and lots of people come and visit to take a look.
American woodcock, also known as Timberdoodle, is a migratory bird and is a sign of coming spring as it arrives around NYC early in spring.

If you look closely, you will see tiny headphones.
A tiny set of beats lol
Gives new meaning to the "funky chicken" ....
OMG. I love these birds. They exude confidence and attitude. Why do they do that walk though?
They’re trying to summon ✨w o r m s✨
they just like groovin
Let's groove tonight
Share the spice of life
Baby slice it right
We're gonna groove tonight
เจ้านกตัวน้อย ช่างสวยงามและน่ารัก
It is incredible the way their heads remain stable whilst their bodies bop.
While watching, I wondered how the males would compete for the females. And then I realized that instead of fighting, they would show off their moves in a dance competition! 😂
Sweet little Angels❤
Удивительная птица
The bird said, “Y’all don’t know nothin’ ‘bout this! This is how we get down in my family! Let me teach you. Come on now! Yeah! Whoo! “
Trop mignon ❤
beautiful birds
ماشاء الله
I love these little dancing potatoes.
People say Snipe don't exist and now they are all over the internet!!! ❤
People also say Elvis is dead. We all know that is fake as well. If he is dead, then why is the peanut butter and banana sandwich always reemerging out of obscurity? Elvis is planting them around to keep them going!
Their heads remain perfectly still. Kinda the opposite of a chicken.
😄☺️❤️
Do they search for food underground by stomping on the ground?
Very interesting movement!☺
That's one theory, but we don't know. Maybe they just dig getting down.
yes, worms
Still way more talent and more entertaining than any Taylor Swift concert
😂❤
😍🥰
потужний птах
I'd like to find at least one of these videos without the music.
Now I know what inspired Michael Jackson to create his dancing style.
This bird is so cute, we have a type of woodcock in the UK ,but I have never caught them dancing. There is also another bird to check out, the red capped manequin that moon walks.
These cuties were born to dance
Just love these birds, nature's gift.
I'm obsessed with these little ones. Just love them soooo much!! LOL
Beautiful birds. I believe they have sensors on their feet and toes to enable detect movement or presence of bugs in the soil. so the dance beautiful as it is is a means of probing for food.
Could be but the Audubon Society says that’s only a possibility, no one is sure why they do it. They do it on paved roads too and they’re not getting any insect movement under that surface. I think they just groove thru life like we wish we could.
Aaaa the Tmberdoodle has soul!💕💕🤩
This bird dances like Michael Jackson 😂😂😂
I love this creature.
These birds and their dance give me faith in the universe !!
Give God the glory, He created all universe
Fantastic- such extravagant birds in the middle of NYC is one thing - but their fab funky dance can`t be topped - great choice of funky beats, too!

Michael Jackson should have seen this!😎

Thats a bird from the 70’s !
love watching these little birds dance it's so cute🐦🎶🎶💞
❤ very cute and funky.x👍👍
Best woodcock video I've seen yet.
The color feathers is nice&your videography skills are comendablr❤❤!
Thx
I like the Grateful Dead one, too.
I would believe the "dance" would have something to do with sensitizing the bird's feet in order to have a better "feel" for underground grubs, earth worms and such.
It’s a theory but not well supported. They still do the dance walk when walking over hard surfaces or ice, and they are intelligent enough to know that food can’t be found on those surfaces.
Cool a few happy Woodcocks! A Friend & I rescue birds(mostly Warblers)that hit the glass skyscraper in Newark NJ during migration. The Raptor Trust TRT made a video of birds we bring in named 'Window Strikes in the Business District' of us collecting the injured warblers ( too long). 85% of Warblers make a recovery. No Woodcocks in video, Woodcocks do not have a good survival rate in Newark; last year we brought in 20 WC only 12 survived to be released. Newark is not good for Woodcocks as just this week saw a dozen expired due to the Glass Skyscrapers ( no big parks just the Glass), did bring one WS into TRT a few days ago it is still recovering ( they give you admit numbers can check status online - his number is 22-162 was in real bad shape surprised it was not DOA as found bloody on his back barely breathing) .
So sad😢
Naturaleza perfecta y hermosa. Bendiciones
Perhaps this bird acts to find earthworms in the ground.
If the leaves are properly piled up, it will be a good environment for earthworms to live in.
It is a beautiful bird, precious video, and comfortable music.
Get the groove - get the move - walk around - with a good sound - shake your hip - that's a good tip - jump around - with that groovy sound! - Have all together a wonderful and peaceful day and enjoy your time with your family and friends and be lucky and happy together! Love you all! ☮️❤🌈🕊🙋♀🤗

What the heck are all the specks of blue? Is there a blue flower that grows around there, or did someone dump a bag of blue confetti? [Update: found web pages that tell me Bryant Park has Hyacinth growing - I suspect that's what the blue is].
🥰 so cute. Love is little sweetheart.
Bustin a move while keeping head utterly still.
Must have been migrating. There is no water in Bryant Park. There are TONS of people all over the place.

Kalau orang yg berjalanya seperti burung ini, biasanya orang yg ingin ngintip.
Are they feeling for movement under the soil?
❤❤❤
This music was created for this .. dancing moves only 🤣😂🤣
Burung apa itu
Erdei szalonka.
God bless all, Israel and the animals in Jesus name, amen.
I do not like their species name. The 1970's porn music just makes the name of the species even worse, even more disturbing, even more sexy!
Here comes the gardener to tell the lonely housewife that she has a severe problem with crabgrass.
Better on the grill
Thank you for your hard work in making the video. I enjoyed the good video. Have a happy day.
What a happy birdie Wish politics have that attitude.
