    If anyone can't find the "Transfer Attribute" node in blender 3.4, its now called "Sample Nearest Surface"

      I used the Sample nearest surface node but didnt make any diff, is there anything else i need to add along with that ?

    • @retroshaper
      @retroshaper  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@martynjamez It basically should work the same. No additional nodes needed.

      @@retroshaper Doesn't look like it plays out exactly as intended though... or I'm doing something wrong. The [Subdivision Surface] to [Sample Nearest Surface], then that into both 's of the [Align Euler] nodes. First one set to Y pivot Z and second set to Y pivot X. All the windows I have now face... inward? EDIT: Putting a [Flip Faces] node before the [Sample Nearest Surface] fixed this for me, though i'm not sure why it happened in the first place.

    Great video, thank you!
    whoever follows along:
    ctrl-rightclick cuts the connections, and ctrl-j adds a frame to the selected nodes.

    This doesn't feel like a tutorial - or anything like, felt more like a meditation session, in the end my mind was ""Nice! click!". Will do this definetly when I'm back at home. Really easy explanation and geonode usage, thanks and bravo for both.

    Great tutourial! Not gonna lie, I kinda fell off at the end with figuring out what parts was supposed to be linked to materials and I couldn't really zoom in to see the unexplained nodes for the trees/bushes (just some stuff for the randomizing of the scale). If this was a paid course, I'd polish that more.
    Otherwise really great, learned stuff! =)

    Is it possible to get the city grid layout to conform to a certain shape?

    • @retroshaper
      @retroshaper  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey! Thanks for the comment. Yes, that is possible, with a few adjustments.
      Instead of using the grid in the geometry nodes, you may use the plane with a needed number of quads.

      Hey bro i am adding this feature in my road generator
      thanks alot for very good tutorial
      but i m facing a little problem
      random color of building worked good in cycle but not in eevee. why?

    • @retroshaper
      @retroshaper  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you in Cycles or Eevee? For Cycles - it is enough to add "random per island" in material. For Eevee - you would need to add "random per island" node in Geometry Nodes and pass it to the output, then use it as attribute in the material. Hope that helps ;)

    • @retroshaper
      @retroshaper  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I think it is possible. Just a bit more complex. I assume we can get and store the IDs of islands and generate start and end points for the bridges.

    OMG how has it taken so long for me to find your channel? Please may I ask if you wouldn't mind doing some videos explaining how to actually think when using geometry nodes, I can't get the theory right in my head, I understand what vectors are, but trying to think how to use them the way you do is so hard.
