I don't have an official Calcharo guide so this will do for now. Also keep in mind that I have nothing but love for these creators. They shared their genuine opinions based on their experience using Calcharo. All I did was offer solutions to the problems they mentioned. Be sure to like the video and subscribe. Calcharo definitely has problems that would have been less annoying if fixed but most of the time everything is exaggerated. It's always cool to see high level calcharo gameplays
watching high level kakaro gameplays is like watching those stylish dmc gameplays xd Dude also deals insane dmg if played right
I have seen carrot by hafis and wallenstein. Their gameplay is insane with carrot.
It's because hte problems can be solved with skill. Which they lack, because all they want is to mash attack
@@Sakuna451 tbf him not generating forte stacks on dodge counter is one of those weird annoying point that punishes you for being skillful, but hey you can be even more skillful and cancel dodge counter into your combo again

Tbh I just wish he got forte from dodge counters and had a slight damage buff

Combine this with his voice (i play in JP)and he's just too cool for me to ignore. I just want his dodge counter to fill his forte.

Calcharo is my favorite character and one of the most funny, rewarding and satisfactory units to play. To me it's almost like Saintontas and stioorg have never played Calcharo or even tried to learn how to play with him. Yes, he has problems, and yes, Kuro made a very cheeky move making a whole new 5* unit, with the same attribute and damage type as Caligraphy with all the feedback they received from his gameplay, instead of making the char a bit less negligent to the player, like giving him KI stacks when dodging or anti interruption buff when he's doing DM, something that XY has in his kit. But players like Kurotura, BzB, hoRg, Wallen and Morment have proven that Calcharo is a really strong character, but not for everyone
Why nobody talk about Changli's long animations or her quickswap playstyle? She has, not all, but very similar problems to those of Calcharo
What's more, Calcharo's community is one of the most united and loving with their main. I haven't seen another community that loves the most the character. Not even with broken asf characters like Jinhsi

@@wildcrown340 I think they have neglected to fix Calcharo because he’s a standard unit and they won’t make any profit from doing so. And you’re right, some people don’t take the time understand how to bypass the problem some characters have in the game and the sad thing is people will absorb the information they provide and conclude that it’s absolute. I guess that’s what i’m here for😄 to help fix some of these issues. I’m getting changli on her rerun. She’s insane with quickswap calcharo
@@itssenpai626 Changli is my second favorite character. Unfortunately, I don't have Encore or a Chixia geared up to play her at her best, but she's fun to team up with Calzone to make your own runs a bit too complicated than it should be xD
And yes, I love when the CCs try to encourage players to play more complicated characters or with very different gameplays than simpler chars. Yes, I mean you, Xiangli Yao
I think they’ll eventually come around to every standard 5 star later on, all it takes is releasing a weapon that specifically works for them individually in a way no other weapon does, I won’t make a full judgement on ol’ Couch or any other character until they get a signature weapon, if they do, but I would bet that’s the plan

Thank you! I was sad watching those videos, and incidentally could even identify the content creator just by their voices (better not name-drop to keep the peace lol). I actually abandoned leveling Calcharo up (left him at UL60) because of the constant negativity surrounding him and his mechanics here and reddit. Your video is a welcome watch; I love Calcharo and Jinhsi for their swordplay more than anything else. So while Xingli Yao is strong and practically ordained as the new Thunder God, I am primarily a sword fan. Cubes are not it for me lol.

As a Calcharo main I approve.
Also I don’t have Yinlin but I do have Varina and the other supports mentioned.
I actually run Calcharo with Havok Rover to increase my damage. My teams aren’t fully built yet. I also run the void thunder set and I am finding it to be quite easy to use. I guess I am weird that way.
Now this is a cucaracha guide i sincerely appreciate with deep dive on his mechanics. This makes his gameplay even more intricate and more fun to master. Thanks for the video

@@itssenpai626 my slight nitpick is not having visual cues on screen on when you perform certain techs like the animation canceling during his stack as I understand better when I see the exact visual button pressing in certain sequence. But again, not a detriment as your video is still super helpful

Chuppacabra is a really solid character, that's why I picked him in my 5* selector, Chicharrón literally carries me throughout Sol phase 2-6. But because of the new resonators that keeps coming and the fact that I already played Carlítos for a bit too long, maybe that's why I lost interest in Chalkzone.

Calcharo is my best built character and a definite favourite. Even if it might not be the smoothest ride, especially with my skills on an older phone (please Kuro give us the PS5 version soon). But when you play with him it feels like you are actually hitting stuff very hard with a huge sword.

I do hope they release a better electro set one day. The current is one of the worst ones.
(Especially since I’m excited to get Xiangli Yao as well. No one said I can’t have two electro dps.)
To sum it up I like Calcharo’s design and character and his kit is ok. He’s a keeper. Can’t wait to meet him in the story one day.
Jiyan's parry is a slash which creates a diagonal parry hitbox in front of you that shields you from the parriable attack, calcharo is a pierce and is slightly delayed attack until it connects. I don't think that's the easiest attack to use to parry in the game like you claim in 0:28 but it's not as bad as people frame it out to be. 2 examples of easier to parry characters than calcharo is spectro rover and danjin, they just do the slash like Jiyan does and it's very easy, calcharo takes some getting used to if you're used to those easier options. Parrying some attacks from dreamless as calcharo is super atrocious cuz some of her parriables seemingly happen at a different height than calcharo's pierce. This is what I feel based on what I play, I can be wrong.
@@zydeox1221 you’re right about rover’s parry having a large hitbox but remember that it has a shorter reach when compared to calcharo and parries are very much dependent on you and your target’s distance. I’m not too sure about Danjin though but I’ll test it out. Appreciate the comment❤️
Swear to god I didn’t even notice half of these until I heard about them from other creators 😅 It is a fact that my skill issues are the reason my parry sucks and I dodge about as efficiently as a toddler solving quantum mechanics equations (though it’s gotten much better, frame-rate is partly to blame here), Calcharo was my first main, love using him to this day and while I still need more CR on him, he’s a good unit imo
Also, #JusticeForCalcharo (though that second basic not being counted as a stack has mad bug vibes and should at least be fixed 😤)

Honestly calcharo is my favorite character in the game and I don’t mind what others say about him because he is the coolest character for me especially when his intro skill is cast after his resonance libration end god that cut scene feels satisfying

I literally started yesterday. The game seems quite fun and ofc as a newbie I go for coolest looking characters for me. Got the monk waifu and now you tell me she is great with this Calcharo dude that is literally electric Sephiroth. On top of that he is hard to master which just makes me want to play him more.
I also want to play as that blue hair guy with cool dragon ultimate but alas, I guess I have to wait for a banner that would feature him.
despite my king hasn’t made an appearance in the main story, he’s still slaying 🙏
3 months playing this game, I was today years old hearing about roll over mechanic. We learn something new everyday.
I dont know about others but i particularly like calchy's "clunky" attacks, it makes me feel like im playing souls games

As a Jinhsi main using Calculator for the first time was an eye opening experience because he doesn’t instantly vaporize every boss in the game with a single rotation

I actually pointed out in stioorg’s video that you can cancel his animation skill and was surprised barely anyone pointed that out. It tells me people probably never bothered to play calcharo and experience his full kit and gameplay.

A lot of content creators don’t really take time to test out certain characters which gives them a bad reputation and calcharo is one of those victims. I have no problem with pointing out a characters issues but it doesn’t help the people that actually wants to play those characters if you don’t provide any meaningful solutions to those problems. Some people actually fought me in my comments saying that what they said is still true and I keep asking myself if these people actually play the game. I spend so much time learning about certain characters and how to optimise them and that’s the thanks I get. I digress. Appreciate your comment.

Yeah so soloed everh hologram 6 minus Memphis, 30 crested toa with calcharo soloing 1 crystal.
I'm going to ahead and tell you that you're coping. In no universe is calcharo anything but disastrous to use.
Also, most of you coping because all I ever see (minus 3 CCs) is overworld clears. Like it's overworld...that's nothing.
Yes, let's just blame the player skill instead of acknowledging the character's clunky kit design that requires goober cancels, mental gymnastics and a whole lot of copium to be usable.
@@Natsuke1104 those mechanics are part of the game, therefore they are there for a reason. Some people may like it, some don't, that's it. Not every character in the game has to be balanced around accessibility by people who want another shiny thing on their account. Yes, Calcharo is hard to learn and annoying to master but boy he is fun to play, at least for me XD

@lingyang_senpai as bad as these takes can be this is probably the most resistance I've seen against it given how many times I've mained chars like this, I really appreciate you guys who can understand the value of something and not letting user bias make the decision for you. You've mentioned some things even I forgot about in this video like the resistances at the beginning and end of DMs, legit tools towards skillful play if you choose to utilize them but most rather have no personality and all units play the same which is a madman's world to me

another helpful video, thank you. I have builded him since day 1 and i don't want to bench him, losing so much resources ends up not using him in ToA because he's too hard to play, his (effective) gameplay is not suitable for mobile 😅

I've been saving Yinlin for Calcharo's team but it's so good to hear that Jianxin is enough for Calc as it's not recommended to use their full outro buff on him anyways.
Also what is your rotation for Calcharo Jianxin & Baizhi/Verina?
@@erluq9309 you start with Verina Ult( if available) and her skill. Swap back to Jianxin and complete her basic attack sequence. Hold her skill and swap back to verina. That will make her stay on the field longer to parry incoming attack and recover more forte stacks. complete Verina’s basic attack sequence to recover another stack, jump and normal attack until concerto energy is full. Swap back to jianxin and her forte will be full by then. Hold heavy attack( make sure bellborne shield is active on her to take 0 damage) once her shield is fully maxed out, use heron and switch to calcharo. This team is good for tanking damage with calcharo because if his own resistance to interruption and Jianxin’s shield
The one of the few creator that actually plays chalcharo pretty good says facts mate✨✨👆🏻
Btw if u want to cancel ur basic attack with skill rather than only dodge since u can have a bit more dmg especially if we're using jinshi's weapon but its up to you :D

me personally didn't really agree with what many people say...yeahhh there's many better options for DPS but he's not as bad as what they say...plus he carried my team until early sol 4 before I change to Jinshi just because I prefer her combat style

He is one of the most hyped characters, and yet no one uses him anymore. Sad reality
Meta-wise, all I'm going to say is that I look forward to what's in store for Calcharo. Are we going to get a buffing character like Zhezhi? Are we going to get a weapon that fits him better? We shall see.
All calcharo needs is 1 second longer liberation duration and stagger resistance during liberation.
Also revert the nerf and let everyone keep buffs when they swap.
So yinlin calcharo combo can be OP again.
Why nerf in a pve game.
Make bosses and enemies harder if you think characters are too strong!

3 months playing WuWa, I just found out that there is a rolling animation when timing the jumping after a plunge atk :O

Since when I started in the game, I saw that the Calcharo had a bad confidence and I was afraid of losing my 50 50 to him, but today after months a friend leveled him up and made him level 80 all leveled up with weapon 5 standard stars, and I used his account, I swear it was one of the experiences I had, the calcharo does good damage and it is very simple, I would like to have it on my account
Yeah i just shock that why they say calcharo is bad right now, I main my calcharo until now still i didnt encounter problem using him, I just dont understand why streamers calcharo became weak or nerf 🤦♂️
Don't think he's as terrible as people say. I think the people who say that, but specifically creators who have made videos like that are stuck in CBT2. The ironic thing is that they all complain about him but never add any kind of way in which he could be fixed outside of "bring back the swap buff from cbt2". I've only seen 1 creator actually give constructive feedback on how to make him better without doom posting about him, or without bringing back that easily too powerful cbt2 buff mechanic. This was a cool vid, specially the rolling.

The only Limited banner chara that I have only Yinlin for now, because I'm gonna keep saving my Astrogem for Camellia (IDC when she's gonna shows up, I'm just gonna save it fir now until then)
For my ToA now, I just use Calcha+Verina+Yinlin and Danjin/Havoc Rover + Baizhi + Taoqi
Yeah, I ain't do the middle ToA because I lazy for that, lol

he singlehandedly carry 2 & 3 floor or 12 stars of my ToA at lv60, meanwhile my full build lv80 Jinhsi can ONLY get 9 stars at 1,4 & 2.
My only gripe with calculator is that playing him outside of the CN servers is miserable in my region cause all inputs have a delay due to how far I am in the reccomended servers.
The thing is, Calc is just impossible to play in max capacity on mobile or even Tablet. And that's why he'd be mid in performance. But PC? I never doubt him clearing the floor with blood
I play wuthering wives, yes wives, to collect chars. I do not main any specific characters. I also don't try to pull for character duplicates. And I try to level them all up at the same time. I don't care if it takes time but I enjoy playing and leveling different characters(as a dota player who doesn't want to play 10 games in a row of 1 character after my meepo days). However, calcharo is the first 5 star that I played and absolutely enjoyed it. I can't understand why people think he's bad. I honestly think he's very easy to play as long as you're careful and avoid attacking mindlessly as his ultimate might seem to work best. He's not a berserker😅

Been maining calcharo since 1.0 Here are his 7 main problems imo:
- Deathblade gear last for 11 seconds (This is his main problem)
-Deathblade Basic attacks are not converted to resonance liberation dmg
-Deathblade gear Dodge counter does not stack his forte
-You lose outro buff support value if you do quickswap with yinlin, changli, etc. I have never seen a single video on yt where a yt cc was able to beat ToA using calcharo w/o 5 star weapon, yinlin, changli and xiangli yao. Meanwhile Ive seen yt cc's clear content with a xiangli yao using a 3 star weapon and jiyan using helios cleaver.
-His reso skill doesnt stack forte during deathblade gear
-The reason why people use yinlin and changli w/ calcharo is because of he has lower dmg unlike xiangli yao
-Lustrous razor looks ugly on him. It takes away his sephiroth aura. Helios cleaver is better
This problems I provided are not because of skill issue but because calcharo's highest potential is locked behind the mechanics kuro gave him
@@Morichoradio the sephiroth aura part cracked me up😄 but it’s true. He looks way cooler with Jiyan’s weapon. The problems you mentioned are also very valid but I still enjoy playing him than Xiangli Yao
Compare to encore , he's challenging n hard to master....
to be able to use him to defeat hardest enemy is satisfying
not everyone's gonna take the time to learn mechanics, so from a general view from an average player, he's right. but if you really dive in and learn the character, he's wrong, frankly i care more about easy of use rather then how mechanically good they can be if you learn combo's. i have this guy at 3 dupes but that's cause all my 50/50's where him lol.
@@Honed- that’s insane😲. I have only S1 and i wish i all my 50 50 losses will be either his dupes or lingyang’s dupes. But yeah you’re right. Calcharo demands skill to be played efficiently which is something the average player might not be interested in but that doesn’t mean he “sucks” or is a “bad character “ which is specifically why I made this video to prove it’s a skill issue😄
is it bad im just kinda building my dps' more/better than any of my supports and just kinda... smack the enemy til they die? i dont think i rly switch often or use sub dps' etc.. just a supp or 2 and a dps

They need to make quick swapping an actual feature of the game. As in, you keep the buffs if you are fast enough. Also, have Calcharo's dodge counter fill up his forte. These 2 things will have him absolutely busted
if his dogde counter can stack then he will be a lot better 😢
I have Calcharo 80Lv. S3, and I have no absolute problem with him, at lest playing only resonant and echoing towers
Me who has built very good Calcharo; He's strong, guys! I can say! He's my second strongest character in my ID (my first is Jinhsi). His main iconic is the Q skill (I forgot the name of it), just like Raiden in GI, he can deal a fast with strong damage (actually not too strong but he can deal a lot because of the speed). So just up his Q skill a lot and you're ready to go, trust me!

His basic attack fill forte he use skill like anytime he wants + inhans skill in normal mood and 5 second cool down and his skill fill forte as well so easy to fill forte because of basic attack and skills.
Even his liberation state is very long and kinda granted 3 nuks

that dodge attack during liberation doesnt work in boss fights because if u trigger a perfect dodge he'll instead use a dodge counter which doesnt increase his forte gauge, so yes his playstyle is clunky in that sense
Every substat on my echo electro has Energy Regen and crit, Chalcaro uses them and I can say his Broken for me as well as Havoc Rover 😅 but as Xiangli Yao comes and I only have one set of echo for 1 character, I need to make a tough decision 😢

His skill animations can be cancelled yes, but they are still clunky. Just because there's a solution, it doesn't necessarily mean that it makes him "playable". His kit is just fundamentally unintuitive too. He has to hit something for his Forte to stack up. Other characters can stack it without having to hit them. Knowing how bosses work isn't really a great argument since it should act as the barrier for maximizing gameplay and not a hindrance. Because his kit actively punishes you if you aren't pulling all stops to min-max his gameplay.
The parry thing is subjective. I find his N1 to be really slow to work with, even if it has a lot of active frames. I'd pick any other sword user for parrying over Calcharo any day of the week, even if he has a good range. Ultimately, the range doesn't matter as much so long as your parry does actually hit in the window.
PGR for example is perfect to use as an example. Each character has their own unique style of play and their kit isn't that "clunky" nor does the game punish them for what they do, unless you do make errors like not dodging or positioning properly, or messing up the rotation.
Well if i am being honest, Putting so much effort into learning a character which deals so less dmg for the effort, whereas a character like jinhsi doesn't need so much effort and still deals good dmg. I will rather play brainless than use my brain to play a character who deals way worse dmg.

So let me get this, he is better that we think but he does need to do a load of things to reach optimal DPS? so what's new? because as far as I remember Calcharo calcs placed him as the top DPS among standard units but the nuance was that he has to do so much crap to reach that place while Encore for example has to do two cancels so how is he better than what we think?
Calcharo problem is that he needs too much to be on the same field as other units, call it a skill issue if you like but I don't feel like it's the right approach to have a character like this punishing you so heavily and we are talking about 25 up to 40% DPS loss if you screw up vs characters that at most lose 20% with way less windows for screw ups, even in your example it showed how he can be punished for playing as intended, 00:55 you took a hit in OW that was 25% of your HP, we know that ToA and holograms hit WAY harder than that, but let's ignore that to look at the real problem, Calcharo gets punished by dodging during his liberation twice as much as others in timed content, the timer is still ticking and the liberation is still going but while Jiyan still has his dragon going around and others are nukes that take less time, and Encore has a far more forgiving window he has a tight gap for 3 DM and it's affected by ping.
Don't get me wrong, he is competent enough, I've been using him to clear ToA and he is consistent but if you ain't into his optimal gameplay he feels weaker than the alternatives, I just don't think it's fair that you have to do so much more to get a minuscule edge over other units.
@@drekhunter That’s the issue with gacha gamers. Every character is judged by based on how much damage they can deal and comfort of playstyle. This might work for you but it does not work for me. It’s the experience that counts and I don’t want the game to be boring for me. Jinshi can delete every enemy in the game but it gets boring unless I’m playing her with zhezhi who can literally dance around on the battlefield. That’s why I main characters like Lingyang and Calcharo. So yes, he’s better than you might think if you’re willing to put in the dedication to main him and I’m sure most people feel that way too. If you love a character’s playstyle but you can’t afford to play him because of his nuances, just sit tight and let others do the work. Pointing out his problems without providing any solutions like the creators in the video helps no one. In fact, I generally believe that there are people who have calcharo but have never touched him because of what they’ve been fed on the internet. I never thought i would love Lingyang’s playstyle until a viewer told me to make a video about him.

I didn't even know carrot (yes i call him carrot bc i can't spell his name) was lacking and not that good (ig?). He'd been nothing but a great help for my team so i don't really pay attention to the meta or whatever. I just be patient when playing him lol
it's good. people complain they one shot everything. also not a problem, fight trash mobs and play him with style points instead. sacrificing dmg for fun.
