I just installed a new turn signal switch on a '65 SS. There's a fair amount of play in the bearing of the new switch and as a result there's play in the steering wheel. Not sure if this is a normal amount of play or a bad/cheap part. Did your new switch have any play?
    Thanks for the video!

I think they all have some, the new parts are cheap china parts now though

@@ImpalaCadillacRestoModDIY The old switch that I took off had play - not sure how old, but might be OEM and the new one both have enough play where you can wobble the steering wheel 3/4 inch in any direction. The wobble is why I switched out the parts!

Got one more question. My friend sees a gap between the steering wheel and the switch housing and thinks we pulled out the steering wheel shaft out a half inch or more during replacement! I say no way is that shaft movable by pulling on the steering wheel! Now he wants to adjust the shaft at the axle bearing!
    What do you think?

I’ve never had that problem, it’s hard to imagine that happening. If you used a steering wheel puller, you wouldn’t have been pulling on the shaft.

Does this part fit a 64 impala ? If so where did you get yours ??

I bought mine on EBay. I can’t answer your question about a 64, but it’s probably similar
