I don't want to be that person, but for the Singlish section, there are a few words that are wrong in meaning / usage. firstly: the word chiobu is actually sort of a bad word. it might seem like something to call a pretty girl, but to put it in simpler terms it is sort of like cat-calling(??). it isn't comfortable for most girls. lah; it is right to say it is used to cause a more 'singlish' feel, but it is mostly used for negative things. eg; "Okay lah!" / "I know lah!" / "Don't be like that lah..." . Saying "I love you" with the "lah" added sounds negative or insincere because "lah" is mostly used for negative terms. Singaporeans honestly don't have a special way of saying they love someone?? they mostly just say "i love you". thank you! do correct me if i am wrong anywhere. this is just from my experience living in singapore
Hi Hannah! Thanks for the feedback :) This video was created for its fun element, so we're sorry if you have been offended by the choice of words. We did our research before, and we've seen how Korean artists actually do pick up these slang words just to interact and connect better with fans at their concerts and fan meets in Singapore. Fans love it because it is unique to them and they only get to hear this in Singapore. We completely get your point about how the words may sound like when they're used, especially when different tones used can bring about different meanings to everyone. At the end of the day, it's just to introduce a part of Singaporeans' unique culture to the boys so they may feel a closer connection to Singapore fans. :) Nonetheless, we hope you'll enjoy the rest of the video! (P.S. The boys actually signed off with "I love you lah~" in the official postcards for Singapore fans, we're sure that they did this with sincerity, specially just for Singapore fans.)
HallyuSG haha yes! i saw and we all know it is because there is no real dictionary for Singlish. I understand why you want to teach them such words and i appreciate your efforts :) regardless, this video is joyful to watch and just a big thumps up overall. SG arohas can understand, but i was just worried the wrong usage might cause some..?? confusion??
As a Singaporean i cringe each time a Kpop group tries to connect by using SInglish. We REALLY prefer standard English; clear and concise.... It's painful to watch every video with Singlish.
Thank you for sharing this. I was wondering may I make Mandarin subtitle and re-upload on my own channel in order to share it to whom don't understand English? Thank you
Unfortunately we had to switch to black and white for consistency as the room was a little too dark which created several different lightings... :( Thanks for watching though, we hope you enjoyed the video! :)
I find it cute that Rocky is shy around girls 😄😄😄
Omg Rocky got a lot of recognition in this interview
Wow Rocky really is my bias indeed. I was thinking of "Innocent Love" too which he mentioned ^^
