    Thoroughly enjoyed watching this video and can definitely relate. Beautiful car! I've owned four Sevens, three Lotus and one Caterham. Two of the Lotus cars were early BMC powered and my current Seven is a 63 non-crossflow 1500 with dual Webers. I mentioned I can relate to this owner. This is the third time I've owned my current Seven. I bought it in 1994, sold it in 1996 and bought it back in 2009. Sold it again in 2013 and repurchased it last year. The last owner made many improvements and it's a much better car than when I sold it. Sevens are not for everyone but at 78, I'm still enjoying it. Thanks again for the feature. Very fun to watch.

    Beautiful car so much more fun and usable than the modern 300hp + Caterham 7's and 900+hp super cars.
    Being able to have a car flat out to the red line in every gear and still be doing a semi sensible speed is more fun than a 3 second blast in a car that will be doing over 60 mph in that time. This is speaking from experience of owning new and old sports cars.
    Nice clear video and sound.
    But I do feel if "one" decides to make car related videos even a basic knowledge of cars/engines should be learnt and if "one" intends to make money from the process I feel it would be a huge advantage long term to have a basic understanding of what you are showing in your films.
    I see this time and time again when the "youtuber" filming cars has no idea what they are looking at.
    To look at what is obviously an A series engine bolted to probably an A35 or MG Midget gearbox and ask " Are they twin Webers??" is simply painful hear. Twin S.U's were the go to carb for BMC. Yes you can fit a Weber or even twin Webers in full race conditions but unless you have a special cylinder head fitted to the A series block you only use one side of each Weber choke . Not sure how much more power this gives over a singe Weber but have seen it used many times so must be to some advantage .
    So many proper technical questions could have been asked about this classic set up and the observation was the shade of Green? Hmmmm.
    In future make an effort and you will be rewarded.

      This is a comment of two halves Darren 😆 I appreciate the feedback, but can’t help feel you’ve missed the point of this series.
      I’m acting as a facilitator and enabling the owner to be the expert. There are plenty of TH-camrs out there giving the technical info themselves, and I’m not trying to be that type of guy. Instead, my intention is to feature people who you wouldn’t otherwise see on here, to celebrate their knowledge/efforts and allowing them to tell the story of their pride and joy. Viewers will still come away knowing which carbs were fitted, thanks to my stupid question.
      The videos on cars less familiar to myself and using older technology I find the most interesting to film, and hopefully bring the viewer along with my learning experience. I can’t imagine everyone has an encyclopaedic knowledge of all engines, particularly if they’re from a different era of car that they’ve never owned.
      I’d be keen to hear other people’s views as well, does this 'owner expert' & 'vaguely informed but curious' passenger format work for you?

      Yes I fully understand that its almost impossible to be an expert on all cars from all era’s.
      I suppose as an older viewer and being very involved with older competition cars I maybe wrongly expect a certain amount of knowledge from anyone connected to making car videos.
      Its the content that matters and the case of this original Lotus 7 its very special piece of history in general and especially motor sport world.
      I also own a similar car and want the youngsters of this modern world to understand what “ Driving fun “ actually is. We live in a world of 800 bhp super cars being the norm and an obsession with 0 to 60 times.
      The fact I am probably over passionate about the “ good old days” when it comes to cars I just struggle when someone who I assume has an interest in cars would look under the bonnet of that Lotus and not have the vaguest idea of what they are looking at.
      There was no harm meant by my comment just had to express my thoughts . As you say you are making videos and are not claiming to be a “ Car expert”
      The video was much appreciated and the car looks great. I hope you enjoyed the ride in it. There are not many cars built in 2023 that come even close to the experience an original Lotus 7 gives not even the latest offerings from Caterham.
      How must this have felt in the 1960”s ?

      Thanks Darren, appreciate the reply. I admit the A series is a bit of a blind spot and I could have asked some more open questions. I have done this in the past when time allows, e.g. I released a separate'Tech Focus' video on the side of the Owner Story on the 1948 MG TC.
      For whatever reason I just haven’t really had any exposure to the A series until now - Crossflows, Duratecs and the 2GR-FE however…
      One of the more selfish reasons I'm making this series is to have the time to experience & learn about different cars. I’m also someone to prioritise light weight & driver engagement, it was a great drive thanks 👍
