    i love that you did a drugstore/high-end tutorial, because i'm quite disappointed when watching a video and they use mac for everything (i'm BROKE), but there are people on here who do benefit from seeing the high-end products in action. if that makes sense

    I have to say, Thank you! I am just starting to learn to do my makeup and I don't have the budget to go in for all of the high end stuff. Often I feel that when watching a lot of other videos many makeup artists focus on high end make up and I feel really lost trying to buy a good product at a drug store. I cannot begin to tell you how valuable this video is to me. I was so worried that I would not be able to create a polished look with out the high end stuff. Thank you for giving the drug store makeups so much attention. It has really given me some serious confidence that if i work at it I can get a great look with out having to spend money I don't really have.

    Finally!! Someone who doesn't have an annoying voice and explains in detail but not too much detail. Don't mind these birds chirpin' negativities. They look like they need to watch a few more make up tutorials before they give they're two cents on what looks good or not. I really like you did one side high end one side budget friendly. I'll keep watching :) Go gurl

    Nicole...you are AMAZEBALLS!! SO FUNNY, SO DOWN TO EARTH, AND BRILLIANT!!! Lol, doing the half drugstore/half high end was an amazing idea! I can't tell which is which, and it really proves the point that most of the time, the only person that knows we're wearing "high end makeup" is US. And the same look can be achieved with products that are half the price or lower!!!! You rock! Your gorgeous and thanks for keeping it real!!!! Lol hugs.

    • @michelleman3310
      @michelleman3310 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ^^ yeah it does look harsh, iknow the name brand things are great quality but it there is always another choice. I go to and buy mostly everything from Walmart,target, 99€ store, Dollor Tree, Walgreens and or from family (barely used, their wrong shade, or just not used at all). I honestly go cheap for make up. Elf, NYC. LA Color lips. Only one time I bought a bares minerals lip gloss/stick. Because it was $8 Lol 24$ to $8 that was a steal. :)

I'm learning how to work with my face & contouring is one thing I always wanted to learn! This is awesome! Can't wait to buy all the drugstore products haha

      Renee Smith
      well, maybe all of you are right but if the ingredients are the same then I highly doubt there is some magical trick for it to last longer or to either break out from...that's just what I think, I just think it looks great either way... shes good, love her personality

    • @brittanywilliams275
      @brittanywilliams275 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Radmila Domingo That's the main difference between them. If the ingredients are the same, then all you are paying for is a name brand, and there is no difference between the two. That's why we have "generic" versions. If there is an exact version of a "higher end" make-up, then you might as well get the generic version, IF it's any good. But generally, high end make-ups have different ingredients, which is why they tend to work better.

    I feel like cream contouring is just too difficult to blend out!!! I tried it out and it looked like I just had a huge brown rectangle on my cheeks and just looked ridiculous on me so I dont even bother with cream contour I just prefer using powder

    Hopefully you can do a video similar next time... I think less makeup suits you more, you are so naturally beautiful that you don't need your eyes, eyebrows, lips, contours and highlights to be so bold. Maybe tone down eyebrows and eyeshadow.... And your natural beauty will suit this contour and highlight routine.

    I think your makeup looks beautiful but when you contoured the sides of your forehead I think it was way too dark and I think you should have blended or even rubbed it out a lot more because it just looked way too dark for your complexion it just kind of looked like two brown spots on your forehead. I'm not trying to be rude at all just trying to give you constructive criticism but you are amazing and make up that is for sure

    I'm glad you show everyone that they can get the same or close to the same results with drugstore cosmetics. My granddaughter is 15 and I purchased her her first high end cosmetics this year for Christmas. I think I may have created a monster. LOL. I tell her to watch your channel so she can see that drugstore isn't all that bad. But she is like, you wear high end.....she got me there. Keep it up!

      I am teaching my daughter how to do her make up. She asked if it mattered what make up we used drugstore or high$$ I simply said it doesn't matter if it is applied correctly. When she replies with well u wear high end make-up... Say... Well I pay for it if u "Have" to have it, get a job and buy it. lol That always stopped me in my tracks as a teen lol.

      I guess we have to improvise and get 3 shades darker or lighter than what OUR skin is. I thought that, too, but contouring is supposed to be dark, but like I said, gauge it according to your skin color.

      Try a shade that's only about 2 shades darker if your new at starting out & also it's actually easier to apply the product to a brush like an angled kabuki style brush & then blend on to the face. It's harder to blend if you directly apply it

    I dont like when people try and contour their forehead.. i feel like it looks weird. And draws attention to a big forehead rather than making it look smaller. Especially if the contour color is orangey.

    High end to me gave better results, even tho it may cost more, it achieves that Hollywood look. The drug store side have the same colors, but did not highlight or contour as good as the high end side. Great Job thank you, I will spend more because I'm worth it.(plus it's not like you have to buy it everyday) God bless you.

    Drugstore looks better, The High end was too much contouring, looks like it can be blended out more, unnatural and looks like dark spots. Im sorry just my opinion. but your eyeshadow is amazing :)

      It does look very bad. How can you advice people to use darker foundation for countour?! Contour is a shadow that is grey cause natural shadows are grey NOT BROWN OR ORANGE!!!

      erica vigil WHAT!?!??! lololo you cannot be serious, GREY???? To contour your face no matter your skin tone you use BROWN, or ORANGE depending on your undertone. When you find a Grey contour powder or cream let every makeup artist know that since your natural shadow is grey that is what they should be using! Then wait for it.....and get laughed out the building.

    Just found this channel! I love love love that you incorporated the low-end products into this flawless look and how thorough you are in the tutorial! The department store products definitely looked greater in comparison to the high-end ones imo. Thank you for the tips, I can't wait to try it! :)

    I can't wait to try this! I haven't actually ever done a full on contour/highlight before, I usually just do my cheek bones, so this will be a fun one!
