Yeah I thought it might have been !! must have just had him with the front set of trebles and not the rear single hook!! Thanks for the support mate I really appreciate it 🍻
I reckon they are unreal! Got big coral trout, golden Trev, mackerel last time I went out. I find if you do a slow jig then pause, they like to hit it on the pause.
Good video and amazing conditions - mate I’ve come to the same conclusion with the vertrex and squidtrex they are effective but not cheap and easy to lose.
I've started using the Penn Slammer IV 6500 with 50lb braid and 80 lb mono leader on a Ugly stik bluewater rod. 22kg of drag on the reel so it's been pretty much catching everything I want it to! awesome reel!
Hey mate, you have to do slow jig with squidtrek, watching your video youre doing the quick jigging and that squidtrek ain’t swimming the way its was designed. Also if you want to troll the squidtrek you have to buy the one with the extra ring that’s on top and in front of the present one. Good luck
Hi Raul, i'm using the Squidtrex 150 which comes in at 135g (fishing 45-55m with a fair bit of run). Looks like there would be some good fishing around Davao! Thanks !!👍
I always use leader, the braid to leader knots are a bit annoying but the leader is much stronger, braid will get cut very easily on some structure on the bottom or if it rubs on the side of the boat so always leader for me, and some of the fish i target have very sharp teeth so I even use metal wire trace also sometimes.
They are great lures! getting bit off by a shark is not the lure's fault. Or your fault, it just sucks to have a shark around doesn't matter what you used for bait. I use mine in the Cape Cod canal in Massachusetts. One of the hardest places to fish on the planet and it kills it there. I have lost a few, but is what it is. We got bluefish, alby, bonito, and sharks but the lure takes a beating..great video nice fish!
Hey thanks mate, you're absolutely right! I guess for me loosing a hook and sinker with some bait is cheaper :) They do seem to catch pretty well though hey! Cheers 🍻
I don't think I did it properly, i was going too fast and I didn't hook on to the front ring so it didn't go very deep at all, so i'm not really sure how deep, I will have to try again and do it properly, I will let you know when I get a chance to do it again and find out.
The best fishing bait at the moment that I have seen from the bait I have used from other bait👍🎣
wtf?
Yah was a sailfish coming out on its side, love the vids brother keep them coming

Yeah they definitely do catch! and you're right it wasn't until I stopped moving it so much then I got hook ups.
What knot do use to tie the squidtrex?
@@MrLoveAmanda21 im a bit lazy and I've just been using a heavy duty snap lock clip. So I go braid line to nylon leader then clip
Good video and amazing conditions - mate I’ve come to the same conclusion with the vertrex and squidtrex they are effective but not cheap and easy to lose.
Ohh good it's not just me!! Thanks 😂Yeah I might try hunt around see if there's a cheaper version available!! Thanks again, appreciate your feedback!!
What kind of reel are using?

Excellent advice thank you very much I appreciate it!!
Nomad themselves recommend speed jigging it as well to imitate a fleeing squid. These vibrate on the jig up, not on the fall.
Hello mate how much weight you use on your nomad squidtrex watching here in Davao Occidental, Philippines thanks mate enjoy your fishing 🇵🇭

Did you tie your squidtrex straight to braid ? Or use leader ?
I always use leader, the braid to leader knots are a bit annoying but the leader is much stronger, braid will get cut very easily on some structure on the bottom or if it rubs on the side of the boat so always leader for me, and some of the fish i target have very sharp teeth so I even use metal wire trace also sometimes.

What size squitrex id that??
That's the 150 model (weighs 135 grams) 🙂
@@saltyseadogs4422 cuz i had order the 85 and its super small 😕
@@YDvette The sizing is in length in mm. The 130 is around 90-100 grams and the 150 is around 120-130 grams
@@muddpuppy07 Yeah I wish they would just call it by how many grams it weights instead of the length. less confusing

Wow, la Sardegna è così bella!! Grazie
Every thing in the ocean loves a squid so the squidtrex gets eaten all the time
Yeah there were plenty of takers before the shark took it for good!!😤
Got two of these. Never had a bite on them.
Yeah right, my biggest problem has been the sharks wanting to eat them!! Managed to at least catch 1 keeper this time!
You have to fish it SLOW
Retrieve like a madai, not like he does in the video.
Fish it as a dead bait, it’s very effective!
I did notice better result when it was still in the water not jigging or moving it around! thanks for the tip!
So you just cast it out and leave it alone? No jigging or moving?
@@lw3969 yep, exactly. I just let the movement of the boat do its thing.
Look like a marlin jumping out
Yeah I reckon your right! you can kind of see the sail flop over at one point there !
Stop moving squidtrex so much, and please turn off clicker. Good content. Nomad rules.
Hey thanks for the feedback and for watching! cya on the next one :)
Lose that obnoxious music
Thanks for your feedback, could you recommend what music would be more suitable that you would recommend? Thanks
