Got my Zin'rohk today on the eleventh craft after I got the wardrums. So it kinda worked.
just found out tomtom has a option to "play a sound when arriving at waypoint" for max AFK enjoyment.
A streamer tested the "farm 200 and wait method" on 20 chars on the PTR - he got the drums EVERY time.
So idk if its worth to farm around a specific race for hours extra

ur exactly on point with 1. 10 crafts but right now im on 950 crafts and still 0 359 items, all other rare/epic items i got in 1. 400 crafts

In the middle of trying this but gone sort of a step farther. I'm leveling only Night Elf to 300 and have Troll, Fossil and Drawf I'm leaving capped or trying to. I'm only level 225 so far and have had to mine and let many rot already to try this out. Will report back regardless and taking a little longer due to work but should be done by Tuesday.

So the best approach would be to absolutely no-life archeology the next 2 weeks to then have a bigger chance of the vial. Brb, gonna no-life archeology.

Been watching your videos appreciate the attention to detail. Also I’ve been farming this at 450 for close to a week. I am trying to do the 200 fragments for every other one as well. Here is what I noticed there are dwarf digs sites on both continents. Same with all the rest so if you guys need a break from doing the strangle to plague land flight you can go to the other side and do it too. Wish me luck boys
You can take the zeppelin from. Gromgol to undercity (even as ally)
There's only 1 dwarf dig-site in Kalimdor tho
i got zin'rokh after 46 solves i got super lucky! its out there boys and girls keep grinding!
This may just be true. I did this without even being aware of it for night elf. I did maybe somewhere between 3-5 solve's of night elf in total before reaching 450 as I wanted to save and full solve as many as I could once i reached max. Got the doll on my third of fourth solve after reaching 450 skill.
Overall since I'm 450 skill, I'm on 280 Troll solves, 220 Dwarf solves and 240 Fossils solves. No sword, staff or shield 😓. Hopefully, i got nothing else to do before Cata! 😅At least, i'm making some extra golds. I did around 6k.
Can confirm this worked, got Zinrokh on my 3rd troll solve after hitting 450, maybe I got lucky.

Almost 300 Troll solves on my main and no Zin'rokh. I leveled up arch on my gatherer today and no rares on first 10 solves. Doesn't look like this is a viable option.
I just ran a small experiment and the two races I decided to level with gave me three rares between them both within the first 10 solves of each.
I don't feel like it, but I'm actually leveling up archaeology again on the main char. I actually only intended to level up once but I want this sword. I tried Fossil and Night Elf in the first ten tries and got a rare item. So if that's possible, I should have a chance at the sword if I've reached 450. I'll get back to you when I'm ready
So yea you get an rar item after 10 solves, 6 Hours farmed to get to 450 and solved 10 troll artefakts. I was unlucky and get the wardrums. Gl to the ones trying that. But i can still get draw maybe :) 2 solves on that atm
Im alstarted a bit late but just got 85 yesterday. I only have level 85 dk and a level 55 paladin. Is it worth farming zinrok or should i just farm the dungeon weapons? I have no friends to play with, so for me, chances of getting the dungeon weapons arent that great either. Tried to buy the honor point weapon but there isnt one.
Im just stuck with a 333 ilvl axe and im lost, i dont know which weapon i should go for.

Got tyrande's favorite doll trinket after 28 solves, and the raptor mount at 36. Now to work on the dwarf staff.
raptor mount aint even rare, literally everyone gets it in like 30 solves

17 solves into NE, still no trinket. did exactly what you said. I actually didn't even gather a single fragment from NE at all until 450. I got The Gown like I did before on my main. Still gonna go at it.
Yeah he ran a typical copium strat that was all over discords. There was never anythin to it

@@jacobandtommy Sadly its just a terrible system all around. Some people got every epic by 300 total solves. I dont have zin after 580 troll one one toon. 40 on another.
Its rng. None of this works. Its all feecraft.
The dropchances here mentioned are right as far as i know. Back in the days the dropchance for Zin'rokh was the same like the raremounts (A'lar, Invincible). Would mean between 1-2%. I researched old posts to get an average number of solvings in the most common forums. I tried to pick the post that just want help and not flaming about archeology. And the endresult was an average of 1500-1600 Troll-solvings for the sword. But there were people that just farm the trollfragments and others that solve every race. Couldn't figure out the averege numbers for "complete solving tactic" or just "farm one race tactic". Afterall it's very time consuming and i think, luck would be your only friend here.
And to mention, if you would have more chance for the digsites you have to solve nerubian also, cause they can spawn in plaguelands etc..

I liked Riyan’s video and I took it as 7% chance when you get a rare, not 7% overall
Just to add to this, I levelled entirely through Eastern Kingdoms solves to 450, and then when I started to do some Night Elf ones (I'd done a few from the couple of digsites in EK, but not enough to even get 1 rare) I got the 359 NElf trinket as my very first rare NElf solve before any of the toys or other miscellaneous blues. So I definitely think there's some potential validity to it.
Dont fully understand this all yet. If I want Zin'roc Im not supposed to solve anything until 450 skill that part I get. But after 50 skill level when I stop getting skillpoints from digging, what do I use to skill up further? Just solves other factions that arent troll or what? Havent seen keystones yet for referens.
yes, solve other factions. But also you will cap out on fragments at 200. So really you can solve anything any are likely to get back up to 200 before 450 if you are at 50.
I'm looking for Zin'rokh, Destroyer of Worlds, from the beginning of the cata pre patch until now I haven't got it, im already solved 600+ but I still haven't got it, im so sad for that
Hey Solheim, I’m doing Archaeology after the release af Cataclysm. Do I need to hit 525 before using the failsafe at this stage, or can I still get the pre-raid bis staff at 450 post cataclysm release?
i have done over 500 troll solves alone...not to mention tons of the others. No level 85 epics
I didnt know about all these tips and tricks that TH-camrs throw out there to improving the chances to get the epics. I leveled arch to 450 by solving anything and everything in eastern kingdom took me about 7-8 hrs to max. Then continued doing the same until i got Zin'rohk. Took about 15-16 hrs total time from 1-450 and getting the sword. Maybe i got lucky, but i suggest putting in the time and it will come
no... RNG is RNG. you could dig until MOP comes out and still not get the sword

I know someone who copied his character to beta 20 times to try the "fail safe" tech to try and get the sword, he got war drums 19 times and the voodoo figurine once, 0 swords though.
if you could do that before solving your 10 first ones and report back, that'd be great
I can understand 1 percent rate for epics, though some commons seem like 0 percent? Now that I don't understand

There is no guarante for the sword. even if you do it with your alt an have all blue items with your main. i will try with my 3rd now!
so am I right that i can dig every Faction and just safe the solves of the Faction i want the epic from?

Pls check the the stats before you use random numbers someone put in the WoWHead Comments 13 years ago.
The numbers the user shows us in the first table add up to 99%, which is fine, when you round up and down to full numbers.
The second table adds up to 122%. So there is a pick f***up in his stats. I dont think it needs further explanation
so am i allowed to sole other factions to level up? or so if i need sword so i skill up and solve everything else but trolls? before level 450
there is no way to improve the chance of epics in archaeology. it just doesnt work this way. its all about rng, the epics have a super low chance to "drop" as the next thing to solve.

I wish I’d know the first ten crafts theory so I could’ve atleast tried it. Now I can’t even find a dwarf desite. The ratio for me rn is 1 dwarf dig site per 10 troll ones. Heck I didn’t even see a dwarf dig site last night for hours.
What you do if 3 of 4 digsites on the whole continent are troll and not you’ve reached the limit of 200 fragments.. and don’t want to build any troll pieces? Annoying to fly whole world for one different digsite.. great vid! Thanks

@@AnroisWL Yes, solve one time, uses 35 fragments, and the 5-8 digs you are capped again

It will be easier when I reach 300 in outland .. but for now it sucks having one fossil or night elf digsite per continent lol
@@AnroisWL Well, since you know you will be getting more, you solve once, and then you collect until full again. Only try to bank dig sites when you have enough to hit 450. You are just slowing down your progress.

@Solheimgaming you mention that we can import all digsites from wowhead - how do you do it? I have gathermate2 data but it doesnt show nearly all digsites that are possible..

Well was about to start levelling arch to try to get the staff, if i understand correct, I need to lvl up to 50 skill just diging, then keep diging and solvin anything but Dwarf till i get to 450? then solve only dwarf from that point on? Also have capped fragments to get to 525 asap when we get to lvl 85?
If thats the plan, I could level archeology in outland since digsites are closer therefore faster levelling?
EDIT: Okay u literally said the outland thing 30 seconds after i commented, so i guess yea, get 50 digging, then dig and solve whatever except the one which drops the epic u looking for, and after getting to 450 without ever solving Dwarf (in my case) use the fragments to solve and pray, if didnt work i guess keep farming Dwarf and keep praying from there.

Still not a gaurentee at all. I just re leveled arch a second time to 450 on my alt and did this strategy and no luck. It's just rng. Nothing to do with holding off on solves.
@@darkgreen648 yea probably but since it cant drop till 450, u lose nothing trying this method of getting it to 450, ill do it this way and if i dont get the staff (which most likely is what gonna happen) ill just continue solving dwarf ones i guess
dude there is no fail safe, those other rares just arent that rare. So obviously you get them quick, and you cant get duplicates of rares.

Been farming for sword in EK so I’m mostly getting troll/dwarf/fossil. However I did my 6th Nightelf solve last night and got the lvl 51 robe. Does that make it 3/15?

I had 8/8 troll dig sites and no way to solved other races at 200 skill level. So i had to do 1st troll and I immefiatelly got some rare troll solve after. Does that mean im screwed and hope for forcing zinrokh at 450 are gone?
You didn't have to. You can find the 3 troll artifacts at the site and just not pick them up.

IF anyone is testing lvling a 2nd character, do you know if in your main, if you already have for example trol drums (toy) and the pet, can you get them on your alt as well since you already know them?

I leveld it wrong, with using my troll fragments. can i delete my profession archaelogy and learn it again, so i get the higher chance at 450 with without using any troll fragments before, or i have to use a other char and learn that profession on a other char new?

Maybe sleep before making videos. Too many mistakes here. You said you need 450 item level to get epics. You said "website" instead of "digsite". Those were just some of the mistakes I caught in the first few minutes. How many more that I didn't catch.
