Very well done, Deb and Eric. Like all your videos, this one is well focused, well lit, and very well explained. I just bought my very own Sailrite Ultrafeed, and I am on my way to replacing our canvas/vinyl on our Silverton. They have all the materials we need, and everything ships really fast.
BTW, the people at the Sailrite Company are some of the nicest people we have ever met.

THANK YOU DEB! You taught me to do something that I have been so intimidated by for years. THANKS FOR THE POWAH! You rock.

How was it? I've never done this before yet I'm forced to because the amount of money they charge me to put zippers on a tarp is enough money to buy a sewing machine. I just want to put zippers on a tarp, that's it

@@BOREDANDWELLBORED I have been doing this for years, and for me it is mostly fun and easy. But once you buy the machine, you will find you will never run out of people asking you to do heavy duty sewing projects and repairs. I have turned a "hobby" into a well paying vocation. see my other comment; I did redo the canvas on our boat and it turned out beautiful. Machine paid for itself many times over. I am now well paid to do other boat canvas jobs, and enjoy it very much.

I'm looking to make side windows like this for my can am x3 side by side. Really glad I found these videos and your website. They charge an arm and a leg for the boat style canvas windows.

I'm replacing regalite that has zipper marks from rolled up panels and wear marks from webbing straps with 30 Osea, will the better scratch resistant Osea not scratch up and leave wear marks from webbing.

very nice and thank you! Could you make small and evenly spaced relief cuts on the inner curve instead?

      Yes, that could be done.

I am doing this same technique on an enclosure that I am constructing but my thread nots is not pulling up through the vinyl like this. Once i sew the zipper the stitch is fine but not when its binder and vinyl only. I end up with a long straight stitch on the bottom and occasionally a loose stitch on top that curls like a pigs tail.

I make my window opening closer to the top so when I secure the roll up strap it is secured at the top and I install another snap at the top so when window is shut I snap the dangling strap along the top so strap is not dangling and scratching expensive window material.

So you guys just leave the strap hanging free when the curtain is not rolled up?
Seems like it would scratch the vinyl when it swings around.

When I made our windows I added an extra post snap on the top facing to attach the strap when not in use. This can't be done when you have a screen, but works perfectly with this kind of window. Hold the bottom of the strap, swing it up, and where it falls on the facing is where to put the other post.

I would like to see a way where you can leave the screen in permanently, but have a rollup window on the outside that is the same size as the screen. The only way I can imagine is to have two zipper slides at the tops and sides. Kinda stacked. I'm tired of taking out the windows in the summer, but then getting soaked in the rain. I want to have both installed full time.

Why do you roll to outside and not inside, as it seams easier to roll up on the inside, I just looked at it again bimini poles are in the way otherwise it looks like it's irrelevant.
