The king in Cinderella seems to have had a closer relationship with his son when he was younger. He laments that he's growing farther and farther away from his son (in front of a 50 foot tall painting of him giving the boy a piggyback ride!) In Cinderella 3, they do give him more characterization, and he has some very sweet scenes with Anastasia.
i know widow tweed from fox & the hound isn’t tod’s real mother, but i have to give her an honorable mention because she’s always felt so sweet & motherly to me :,) i adore her
Tbf, King Triton is probably the parent with the most character growth on this entire list. He grew as a character more than Ariel did! In some ways, The Little Mermaid is more a story for parents about how to allow your children to grow into their own people. I give him major points for his growth alone!
I completely agree with you! In fact, a lot of Disney movies follow that pattern where the leading or titular character isn't necessarily the character with the strongest arch. Much like Beast in Beauty and the Beast and Grumpy in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, King Triton definitely has the most growth in the story and I'm very grateful he came around in the end. Thanks so much for your comment!! 😁
Great list! Couldn’t agree more with #1. Mufasa easily beats every other parent for me. Just out of curiosity, why did you include Lady Tremaine but not Queen Grimhilde or Frollo?
Maybe she didn't count Grimhilde because she only interacts with Snow for, what, 3 minutes out of the whole movie? Which is when she poisons Snow as a decrepit old hag.🤔 As for Frollo yes, he took Quasimodo in, but only because the Archdeacon forced him to. And again, I think he and Quasimodo only interact for like 5 minutes in the whole movie.🤔
7:48 Allegedly? 30:59 In a Book of Tiana’s Wedding Eli Actually Gives Tiana Away. Which is very sweet.❤ 31:08 Sarabi wasn’t in the sequel cause The film makers waited to pay Homage to Her voice actress who passed away a Year after lion king was released. 34:21 Hercules Adoptive mother was actually his birth mother in Greek Mythology. Do I think it was Very clever to Make Her and Amphitryon the adoptive parents of Hercules. Buck(Chicken little) Pepa and Felix(Encanto) Tarzan’s Parents Hercules Adoptive parents Alma and Pedro(Encanto) Stu and Bonnie(Zootopia) Mowgli’s Adoptive Wolf Parents Widow Tweed and Amos Slim(Technically) From Fox and the Hound.
I feel an honorable mention should go out to Amphitryon and Alcmene from Hercules. They raised him for 16 years? Living with his super strength had to have been an adventure.
Actually Leah’s voice remains unknown as Disney has no confirmation on this allegation. Also Stefan was supposed to be voiced by Hans Conried before Taylor Holmes replaced him. Also, Stefan can also be a bit grumpy, wrathful and stubborn such as insulting Hubert. He can also be a bit idiotic as he let his wife and Leah insult Maleficent instead of confessing his lack of invitation to her.
I agree that mufasa is definitely the #1 best disney parent of all but I really appreciate that you put colonel hathi on the list for he doesn't get much love and appreciation at all!!
Mufasa Goofy Buck Cluck Sir Ector Cassim Geppetto Great Prince Rama Mickey Mouse Pluto Dallben Jumba Jookiba Baloo Bagheera Kerchak Zeus Lewis Robinson Skipper Riley Tug etc are pretty good fathers
Ooo, I love all your explanations! Some of my thoughts… King Triton-I agree with your points here. But I will say the King Triton of the movie and the King Triton of the animated series are vastly different and I absolutely prefer the animated series version. While he’s still racist toward humans, he recognizes his temper is a problem and legit takes steps to change it and admits his mistakes. So, I actually really like animated series Triton My top 5 1: Pongo and Perdita-They adopt 84 orphans. C’mon. And I love that what interactions we see with them and their children are always full of love and compassion. When their children are taken, literally nothing stops them. 2: Mufasa-I mean, it’s Mufasa. He’s wise, patient, and I love that he has actual conversations with his child and explains why things are important. And yeah, he dies to save his son so… 3: The Sultan-Again, the animated series really shoots him up in the ranking. We see so much more of his relationship not just with Jasmine but also with Aladdin. And we see he absolutely is a good ruler, who genuinely cares about his people. 4: Kala-she loves Tarzan so much. I love how she takes steps to make sure that even though he’s different, he knows how much he is loved and special. 5: All the parents in Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears. Seriously. They’re all so good. Flawed and imperfect characters but so full of love and guidance. Gruffi is stern, grumpy but absolutely would move heaven and earth for not just his adopted cubs but the human children they embrace too. Grammi is like Mrs. Potts with a bit more spice. Ursa is a literal Mama Bear, King Gregor while recognizing the importance of diplomacy puts his daughter’s happiness first

And we all know where Buck "Ace" Cluck from Chicken Little is going in the list!

Aww so true, she's such an angel. Honestly I should have included her, pet-parents are parents too! 😁

So true, they are both wonderful characters. I hope we get to see more of them if a Live-Action Hercules is green-lit! 😁
love kala as mom🥰
What about Sarah Hawkins ( Treasure Planet) Hiram Flaversham ( The Great Mouse Detective)!
That seemed like a lot of work. Good job!
Oh it was, but someone had to do it! 😁

Mufasa is my favorite disney dad to i just love him😊😊❤❤
love thomas as a step father and dutchess as a mother
Yes! Perdita was very strong to give birth to 15 puppies, but she wouldn't have if there was no Pongo, so they're equally awesome!
i love james from princess and the frog
Justice for Felix Madrigal!
