Thankyou for an informative talk.Brig TM was commanding the Parachute Training Wing in Peshawar when I did my Parachute course.Later on we became friends as well.I left the army after 11 years of service,but our association lasted till Brig TM passed away in that unfortunate accident.I cherish the memory of our association. I'm very happy to learn that TM's daughter is married to Gen Sharif.He has a solid background and has a proven record of consistent excellence . I'm sure he'll prove to be an asset.However,I feel his talent would have been better utilised in Wah or Taxila where his education and creative qualities would allow him to contribute much more than he can in ISPR.

بیٹا میں نے زاتی طور پہ سلطان بشیر الدین محمود کے ساتھ ۱۹۷۵ سے ۱۹۷۶ تک کام کیا ہے بیشک ایٹمی پراجیکٹ کی بنیاد رکھنے والے وہ تھے اور یہ پراجیکٹ جن چار افراد نے شروع کیا ان میں سے ایک میں خود تھا-اسکا پہلا نام DIL تھا-اسوقت تک بشیر الدین محمود بلکل بھی اسلام کے قریب نہی تھے مگر نیکلیر ٹیکنالوجی میں انکی ایکسپرٹی ضرور تھی مگر جو ٹیکنالوجی ڈاکٹر خان لے کر آے انہیں اسکا بلکل تجربہ نہ تھا جس کی وجہ سے تقریبا اس پراجیکٹ کا آدھا سال ضائع گیا جس کے بعد ڈاکٹر قدیر خان نے اس پراجیکٹ کو سنبھالا اور بشیر الدین کو مرزائی ہونے کے الزام یا بہتان کا بتا کر اس پراجیکٹ سے فارغ کر دیا گیا-کہوٹہ پروجیکٹ کے بلیو پرنٹ بننے سے بہت پہلے ہی بشیر الدین محمود فارغ ہو چکے تھے-کہوٹہ پلانٹ اور ایٹم کی تیاری کا سارا کریڈٹ ڈاکٹر قدیر خان کا ہے کہ کس طرح وہ شخص اپنی جان کو خطرے میں ڈال کر مائیکرو فلم اور سینٹری فیوج مشین کے پارٹس پاکستان لے کر آیا-
آپکا اس کامیابی کا کریڈٹ بشیر الدین محمود کو دینا قطعا غلط اور ڈاکٹر قدیر کے ساتھ زیادتی ہے جو کہ شاید حالات سے مکمل نا واقفیت کی وجہ ہو سکتی ہے۔

Bilal bhai General Asif Ghafoor has not worked as DG ISPR in the rank of Lt. General. Rather, he was transfered to command 40th Infantry Division Okara from where he was elevated to three star rank and posted as IGC & IT at GHQ if you can remember.

8:45 Rashid Qureshi was brigadier when he assumed the ISPR office. He was later promoted to the rank of 2 star general after the Mush toppled the PMLN govt in 1999

CJCSC, DG ISI and DGISPR are supposed to be appointed in rotation from all three services but it is weakness of Govts that they could not implement this law and it is weakness on part of CNS and CAS who could not forcefully plead their case to the Govt.
ISPR should be commanded by all three forces turn by turn
