I got my SN-04 card yesterday. The samples are still great, but they do need some tweaking with velocity, nuance and decay. I consider the SN04 to be at least equal to the tr-08 and tr8s when it comes to "does it sound like a proper analogue 808?". With some external compression, eq, reverb etc the SN04 is a truely inspiring way to connect with the 808-universe.
I bought a roland drum kit with pd-31 heads and pm 16 pad-midi interface which utilizes the R-8 as its sound module. I like all the sounds except the kick I'm getting thru the midi. I love the kick that is on the pattern button. Would you know how I could get that pattern sound for my midi kick? I have the manual, but can't seem to get the sound to change.
Greetings, I connected the unit to your midi keyboard and everything worked fine (with matching MIDI channels) I think it is to setup your 16 pm pad-midi interface
will anyone help me please!! i have roland r8 but kept for years in my store room. but when i took it out, it has no sound at all. the installed sounds gone, the power is working but has no sound. please advise. thank you!

I just bought a r8 and i can't use the metronome, start don't work. anybody knows if I need a cartridge to make it work? or is it broken?
