  • Lapland magnet fishing video of copper mine from the 1700's. This time the True Vikings are in the very north of Sweden hiking and exploring the wilderness. Besides exploring Emil is an eager mineral prospector and he finds interesting minerals such as chalcopyrite, bornite, azurite and pyrite.
    After a long trek trough the wilderness of Lapland he finally finds the abandoned old historical mine where the ancient people was mining for copper among other metals. Magnet fishing yields some results and after looking around the arctic landscape for a while he discovers two mining pits together with two dump pits with lots of geologically interesting rocks.
    Keywords; magnet, magnet fishing, exploration, geology, mining, abandoned places, remote, wilderness, lapland, prospecting, rocks, minerals, treasure hunting, fishing for metals

    The views are spectacular! The story & the geology was interesting! Not a bad trip even though the magnet fishing was a no go, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. A nice job. Thanks for taking us along on the trip/hunt and sharing a part of the world that I would have never seen if it had not been for your channel! H.H.

      Yes this was filmed in lapland. The home of reindeer and mosquitoes. Some places have some ww2 stuff to be found, mainly along the Sweden/Norway and Finland/Russia border. Sadly the metal detecting laws in Sweden prohibit metal detecting :(

    It would have been surprising to me if you would have discovered much at the location. The men working the mine would have been very poor and careful not to loose property. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and your information very informative. Hard to imagine the amount of work would have been worth the effort. Thanks for sharing.

    • @TrueVikings
      @TrueVikings  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you are absolutely correct Jay. Poor buggers working the mine on that hill in all kinds of arctic weather. It was a very good day trip none the less!
