      @@thecreativekatstudioThank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! I wondered how to put a stroke on it. So excited. I have made several frames, this way, but always wondered how to put the stroke on it. I like doing the separate frames, as in the dog paw example, where you united the five different layers, I leave them separate. Now, what would you export them as, to sell them? Do you leave them as a PDF, from Fig*, or do you export them as something else, from Can,* since you have to remove that checkerboard pattern? Also, I am not sure if you’ve run across this problem, but under the “Fill” section, in Fig,* sometimes the “image” fill doesn’t show up, so you have to use the drop down menu, to find it. I’m not sure if I had trouble with it because I wasn’t just using silhouettes, sometimes I used any colorful graphic element, so, maybe, that is why it didn’t show up, but I have had that happen a few times.
      *I’m so sorry, I can’t name the full site, because this platform, you have your videos on, keeps removing my comments for naming other sites. They even blocked me from commenting for 24 hours, due to naming sites outside of this platform, and it had to do with design software and such. So be careful, people, they don’t even tell you what comment was removed, they just say it’s for spam, scam, or something else. In the rules of their comments, now, you can not name sites that take people off of this platform, or so they say. I had to figure it out for myself what it was, because they don’t tell you what comment they removed, or why they removed it, and won’t let you even explain anything. They aren’t reading them, they probably have some sort of AI flagging them. I don’t know, it’s weird, because I see other people naming the same sites and they’re comments are fine. It’s so strange. Thanks, again, for all you do, your videos are some of the best. You’re a great instructor. 😊

      @@MissMolly3377 Most people won’t know what to do with it if you leave it as a PDF, so I bring the PDFs into Canva and remove the checkerboard myself so that the frame is fully ready for use by the customer. My frames always come as sets so there are usually several frames on the Canva design file. Then you’ll want to share it as a Canva template link if you plan to sell it. This way when someone purchases it, it won’t destroy your original.

    • @thecreativekatstudio
      @thecreativekatstudio  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow, I didn't know Google was recommending my video!😍
      So you can chose if you want to include the outline or not. By default when you import the PDF from Figma into Canva, Canva will automatically place that outline as the top layer. So in order to add an image or video into the frame you would first need to move that outline to the back layer (using the position feature), next insert the image into the frame, and then finally move the outline back to the top layer. Does that make sense?

    • @vrynstudios
      @vrynstudios 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thecreativekatstudio Yes, I saw that in video. It may cause little confusion to users. I think the position of layers will do the job IMO. I mean, if the image filled layer is on top most and the outline layer below it, Canva can accept the dropped image directly without moving the outline layer. Sorry for my English.

    When I create stroke on text in Figma, export as PDF, import to CANVA, the text image remains in the font selected, but the stroke part changes to a different font. Any ideas on what's causing that to happen?

    • @thecreativekatstudio
      @thecreativekatstudio  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      There are couple things I’ve noticed with Figma if you are only typing out one word...
      1). When you bring it back into Canva, there will be an extra font layer. This layer will be imported as a random font name simply because sometimes exact fonts vary from application to application. You can change it to whatever font you want in Canva, but you honestly don’t need this layer since what you’re going for is the frame itself.
      2). When creating a stroke on a SINGLE word in Figma, it doesn't seem to import into Canva. I’m not quite sure why this happens but I’m looking into it. However, when you add more than one word (like I showed in the video with coffee time) and you join them with the “Union Selection” feature so it’s all one frame, then when you bring them into Canva it DOES work correctly, including the outline.
      A workaround if you want to only use a single word is to type out that word in Canva first, download as transparent SVG and bring it into Figma. Figma will treat each letter as a separate thing, so make sure to use the union selection feature to combine all the letters so they are one frame. Then you can give it the image fill AND a stroke that will import correctly into Canva. (If you plan on doing it this way, when you select the stroke there are 3 options for where the line falls (inside, outside, and center). Set this option to outside. That way it won't interfere with your frame and it will give you a nice clean line.)
      I hope all of that made sense.😃

      Double check to make sure you have all the layers expanded and bring all the vector layers to the top. Sometimes there are hidden layers depending on how complicated your SVG file is.

      Which part are you talking about specifically? Creating words in Figma to use as frames?

      @@thecreativekatstudioYes, putting a outline around text frame. No problem making text frame, it is the outline that is not working correctly

      22:53 of video. I add the stroke. add picture to the fill. Export as pdf, and when I bring it into canva the outline is totally different then what the outline should be.

    Mine keeps turning into a regular square when I put it in figma and I can't figure out why for the life of me D:

      Make sure when you download your image from Canva you're downloading them as transparent SVG files. Any other format won't give you the layers that you need.

    No matter what I do, my frame will not fill, only the background is being filled instead of the image in Figma. Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong, I know it’s, my error, because I have viewed more than one video :(

    • @thecreativekatstudio
      @thecreativekatstudio  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Here are a few tips... 1) In Canva keep your graphic a single solid color. That will help.
      2) When downloading from Canva the format needs to be SVG.
      3) In Figma, make sure you are only working with the vector layer as I described in the video.
      If you are still having issues, send me a message and maybe we can hop on a video call to see where you might be missing a step.

      @@thecreativekatstudio I think I know what the problem might be. I am not using an image from elements. I have a black teardrop shaped object, I took a picture of it with my camera and uploaded the image to Canva. I want to turn that image to a canva frame, but only the background will change colors. The goal is to create a Canva frame for my teardrop shaped earrings, so the shape needs to be an exact match, and the Canva elements teardrop is not an exact shape match. I hope that makes sense.

    • @thecreativekatstudio
      @thecreativekatstudio  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@barbra429 Ok that requires a different method.
      1) In Canva convert your teardrop into a Duotone image and set the colors to black.
      2) Download your image as a transparent PNG file.
      3) Go to the website Convertio.co and upload the PNG. There you can convert it to an SVG.
      4) Upload the SVG into Figma and then follow the rest of the steps in my video to bring the vector file to the top. Then you'll be able to give it the image fill and make it a frame.

    Note to all. After uploading new frame to Canva, refresh the page. It won't appear right away.

      I'm sorry it doesn't work for you. Using Figma isn't for everyone. You can also create frames using Photoshop, Illustrator, Photopea, and other apps.🙂
