  • Sorry in advance to the poor video, the video was not planned but i decide to share it anyways.
    Anyone could build this type of American muscle if you set your mind to it.
    For those of you that would like to pick apart my work Here is a brief Biography on me: I'm married ( Married 14 yrs sept 2016 w/ 3 children), and own two homes. I would like you to know that I built this without ever using a credit card. (that has always been my number one rule: If I can't use a debit card then I probably can't afford it.) I started building my first supercharged 1967 Camaro within a year after buying my first house at age 20 which I completed by age 24. Then started building my 72 Camaro which I completed by age 26. Each time I build a car it becomes better then the previous car so there is a very large learning curve. To own a car this bad ass without being a penny in debt for it is a huge accomplishment. Obviously everything is not perfect but I have plenty of time to work at it. Plus if everything was perfect I wouldn't have anything to tinker with and that would be no fun.
    I'll try and list as many details about the car as I can. Let's start with the motor: It's a balanced & blueprinted .030 over 454 that was just built at the end of this summer. The block was o-ringed and uses .062" copper head gaskets. It has a fresh forged steel crank, new bearings, resized Eagle I-beam rods, Ross 8.8:1 blower pistons, (Compression Ratio is about 8.5:1 with the .062" head gaskets) it has new Total Seal rings, a new Howards solid roller cam (.702 Lift, 308/314 Duration) new Howards solid roller lifters, and new Howards double valve springs. It has the large GM oval port heads (3964290) that were just ported & polished. The exhaust ports were also D-shaped for maximum flow. It has Manley stainless steel valves, bronze valve guides and new valve seals. It has Crane Gold 1.7 aluminum roller rockers and Manley guide plates. It has a new Cloyes double roller timing chain, a new 7qt oil pan, a new windage tray and crank scraper, new high volume oil pump & pickup. It has a custom "one-off" oval port intake manifold that was also ported to match the heads. It has a Weiand 8-71 Polished Blower, and two fresh rebuilt Holley 750 double pumpers. It has an MSD Pro-billet distributor, MSD 7-AL box with a Stage-2 module (Rev-limiter). It has a Moroso high volume water pump, an Afco Racing aluminum radiator w/dual 12" electric fans, 1-7/8" Dynomax headers leading to 3" exhaust with 40 series Flowmasters.
    It has a built 2sp Powerglide with a shift kit and a 3000 stall converter w/anti-balooning plates. (It also has a Biondo line lock) The rearend is a narrowed Ford 9" with a back brace, 35 spline Strange axles, and 4.88 gears inside a locker center section. It has Art Morrison ladder bars with a diagonal link, Afco Racing adjustable coilover shocks, and it also has (Wilwood) 4 wheel disc brakes with an adjustable porportioning valve that you can adjust from the dash. It has 15x15 & 15x3.5 Weld Draglite wheels. The rear tires are 32x17.5" Mickey Thompson ET Streets, and the fronts are 165/R15 radials. It has Competition Engineering subframe connectors, wheel tubs and wheelie bars out back. The interior has a 12pt roll that also extends through the firewall and ties in with the front clip. It has a custom made aluminum dash covered in black vinyl, and has all Autometer Ultra-Lite silver gauges, including a 5" tach w/shift light. (Gauges include: Water Temp, Trans Temp, Oil Pressure, Fuel Pressure, Fuel Level, Boost, & Volts) It has a Hurst quarter stick shifter with a pistol grip handle. It has black carpeting throughout the inside of the car. The custom seat covers match the door panels. It also has a Harwood 3.5" fiberglass cowl induction hood. It has a new 20 gallon RCI aluminum fuel cell w/sending unit in the trunk. The battery is also relocated to the trunk as well as a Holly Blue electric fuel pump. It has a Barry Grant fuel pressure regulator and an inline fuel filter. It has all A.R.P. bolts in the motor, and all the fuel & vacuum lines are braided steel. It also has dual remote oil filters located under the passenger fender. It has a pair of 7" Halo headlights that are tied into the parking lights. The 4 rear tail lights are ran in conjunction with each other just like the Corvette.
    This motor is Bad-ass but now I will be building a Gen V Four bolt main 454 with a Callies 4340 complete rotating assembly, then I will be making my Gen V motor a 496 stroker motor. Then the final piece will be topping it with my Weiand blower.

    So much torque, it twisted the chassis coming off the line

    I really don't understand when these guys add these bore on these motors and they still want to run carburetion this is why you have a hard time starting it and keeping it started till it's warm if you went to fuel injection you would not have that problem and the throttle response would be right on!!

      My next build will be fuel injected. This was a fun build for me and It will be nice to all of the carburetor issues next time around.

    Nice car. Get rid of those carbs, get an Enderle fuel injector to throw on that blower, instead of that fake lookalike butterfly air cleaner

    What size tire combo do you have in the rear ?

    • @TweekerDan1984
      @TweekerDan1984  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has 15x15 & 15x3.5 Weld Draglite wheels. The rear tires are 32x17.5" M/T ET Streets, and the fronts are 165/R15 skinny's.

      What’s the off set in the rear. Building the same set up with a 42 inch 9inch rear end

    • @TweekerDan1984
      @TweekerDan1984  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t recall the offset but the rear end is a narrowed Ford 9" w/ a reinforced back brace, 35 spline Strange axles, and a locker w/4.88 gears. It has Art Morrison ladder bars w/a diagonal link, Afco Racing adjustable coilover shocks.

    Guy needs to learn how to warm up a car with carbs

    • @TweekerDan1984
      @TweekerDan1984  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are possibly correct but for the first start up of the year I was glad it even started, lol... Although say what you will... but a blower motor with carbs is no long just a car. I have built many cars but the variables are endless when fine tuning these beasts, but I'm thankful to have picked up many new tips the last 6 years.
