To clarify, Jowgen needs to discard to the GY, not *just* discard. It cannot be activated under Shifter. The same thing happened to me once when I tried using a D.D. Crow under what I think was Macro Cosmos
Edit: Forgot to say I really liked this more serious/casual video that isn't trying to maixmise humour and jokes. I like those but this was a good change. Glad to see someone else finally talking about how good Unchained can be and how fun it can be. See so many people on r/masterduel just dismissing it since "maxx c kills it", ok it's still good and can break boards, it not top tier but can still be fun to play as shown by you. Will be honest, my biggest issue with the current format is the amount of bullshit blowout cards like Chimera summon dark barrier statue, been beatres rollback mayakashi and hot king calamity to name a few. If they got rid of these ftks I think the format would be so much better as it is pretty fun breaking Snake eyes boards. They also do need to be tweaked but arn't the worst.
Unchained is a deck that can regularly afford just playing into a ton of interruption, the bug included. Your disruption is usually strong enough to keep the gamestate simplified despite playing into Maxx C, while clearing boards is also mostly a nonissue. As long as you can play around Nibiru there really isn't much to fear. That being said, it's like the only deck in the format that can do this on a consistent basis.
Exactly why Maxx C is still an auto ban in my eyes. You can only play 1 deck if you don't want to get bodied by your opponent - that's equivalent to a toxic tier 0 format. Not because 1 deck is head and shoulders above the rest, but solely because of a single card that warps the meta.
No seriously I’ve been having so much fun with yugioh lately. Tenpai in tcg, testing white woods, unchained and R-ace in master duel have all been so much fun
unchained is my main deck and it has been since link evolution. ive been playing it on master duel since launch long before the new support came out. it is such a fun deck. i play go second unchained and while that means you have to sit through your opponent long turn and let tem set up there board you never have to fight over the coin toss and breaking that board is what i live for. that feeling of elation that you get from the sense of accomplishment when you reduce there board to dust is the best.
This adds to the argument that interactive games are fun. And nothing is more interactive than a going-second deck that plays through multiple interactions.
I love this kind of videos and wish we could have them more often. I run almost the exact list in main (1 less thrust for 1 more chamber) but the extra deck is very subjective. Darius is good against Kashtira/Shifter giving full value to Tour Guide specifically while it can also punish Floo by stacking Machinex (remember the SUCC video?? exactly that!! ) This also makes double Zeus wipe + followup by detaching Rhino with the 2nd wipe to send Sharvara and set a trap. 2nd Caesar is also good if you expect grind, same as 3rd Yama. You can definitely play both at 1/2 respectively with better resource management. Totally agree on Unicorn, also the spin removal helps against cards like Mirrorjade although you can also cheese it with Accesscode and Anguish. Personally i have Accesscode over Darius and Underworld over Apollo to counter cheese strats
"...especially for those of you who like something technical" my last functioning braincell for the last 3 months: "normal summon mo-ye, reveal sthana"
Farfa says he has fun.... Thumbnail has Yama so it immediately checks out AgOv in TCG, current format in MD are super enjoyable. And imo even Snakes are responsible for this because i find them the most "fair" tier 0 deck of recent years. Getting on the ladder (or DC) seeing no handtrap going second then normal summon Ash has me "thank god it's snakes" instead of auto scooping as soon as Circular, Wakaushi or Neo Space Connector is the opponent's first move.
10:25 the reason he didn't use Jowgen is because he specifically requires the discard to be *from the hand to the GY*, but he was still under his own Shifter since he activated it turn 2 and this was turn 3.
As someone who recently made an Unchained deck (Whenever the new cards came out in the last few months) I enjoyed this video and would love if you did more little videos like this for other decks you like too! I've been quite enjoying Unchained Twins too if you want to mix it up a little, being able to end with Soul of Rage, Caeser and Trouble Sunny is actually really nice! (Trouble Sunny gets you a pop and draw on your opponent's turn) Although I've not used the D/D/D package in the main deck or Deviser King myself yet, so I think I'll try this variant out too!
fun thing about his deck is, all monster and trap effect it is a destruction triggered float effect that summon monster from the deck, which dodge most of flode gate.
Ironically he didn't play Unchained when the new support came instead focusing on Sprights. But surprisingly for me Farfa and Jesse picked up the deck along with Pak (Pak did DDD so I had high hopes and sure as a fiend enjoyer didn't get disappointed)
Abominable soul is actually perfectly fine to draw, it gives you a free body when your cards are popped, it has a situational pop, and going first if you do draw him you can incorporate him into your combo and then leave him in the GY to revive through yama or escape as interaction
UNCHAINED MENTIONED LESSS GOOOOO that was my first deck i made and still use cuz its goated af the lore is what drew me towards it and its actually a good archetype
Funny having played Unchained for years now and seeing everyone pick up the deck and say “this deck is really fun! You can break boards with just engine!” That’s what I’ve beeen saaaayying
In the past the deck was somewhat lacking in resource generation. You have a strong chain of floaters, but only one of them actually gives you card advantage. And if you link off your twins, you don't trigger their floating, meaning no advantage either even if you eat opponent's monsters. Two new dogs just straight up completely fix those issues by giving your a quickplay aruha that floats into search from being sent to the grave (not just by destruction) and a recursive unchained soul for link fodder. The only gripe left with this deck is that Abomination's Prison isn't an unchained card. If it were, the deck would've got picked up long before the support.
I love how master duel didn't kill any strong decks now we have a lot of decks that isn't in ocg or tcg like kash lab, snake eyes, r-ace, SHS ,unchained purely, mannadium and even tear
UNCHAINED MENTIONED LESSS GOOOOO that is my first deck and best deck i made goated af the lore is what drew me towards it and its actually a good archetype
honestly same, I had so much fun with Unchained these past few days, it was a blast! Makes me kinda miss Sharvara 2 and 3 in tcg, because I would love to play irl again
I really like unchained as well. I’ve been running the gamma package instead of the ddd package for outs to maxx c. Pretty solid for the main pop a trap combo
Chaining Sharvara and popping Tour Guide when getting Veiler'd so it resolves is an option too. Edit: SP is one of the MVPs in this deck. Go first, set up Soul then pop with escape on opponent's turn, bring back with Yama, Link summon into SP with Soul and opponent's monster, then banish another card. That is 3 interruptions and you still have SP's other effect
I can definitely agree with MD being fun as of late since they finally added a bunch of missing support which turned a lot of decks online to play or try. Currently giving the new Salad support a try and I built Memento since I pulled a lot of the cards but haven't practiced with it yet. I still want to try Rescue Ace at some point too as well as Unchained but I need to research combo guides for them.
The only 2 that you absolutely never want to draw are the blue dog and the ddd pendelum. Ging second they make decent cards to taget to destroy a card but id rather have an extender.
I get away going up to 50 cards by playing diabelestar package. They get some interruption on the board if I don't want to commit into a Maxx C or if I don't open any starters
Now you're a dog lover! Aww! Congratulations for unleashing the Cerberus lineage. It is refreshing to watch how people break the chains of the overpowered and unbalanced tears.
No, I'm sure he tried to activate it for a few minutes but was unable to Jowgen (and a small handful of other cards) requires the discarded card to go to the GY as part of its cost. This isn't a weird PSCT thing, this is the up to date card text from 2022. This means it can't be used under Shifter
Me too actually been enjoying the game, recently playing Labrynth Archfiend deck with normal trap that send fiend to gy. Im actually surprised im having fun playing this game with how many crazy thing i can pull with this deck. Just yesterday i have 2 game that last till 10+ turn that not just us need to draw the thing, we actually have action every single turn of it.
