Awaodori (Awa Dance) is one of the most famous traditional performing arts in Japan, with its history of more than 430 years. "Awa" is the old feudal administration name for Tokushima Prefecture, and "odori" means "dance". Awaodori Festival in Tokushima City is held from August 12 to 15, attracting over 1.3 million tourists every year.

下駄（GETA）。These are footwear called geta. I'm really dancing on my toes.
These geta are exclusively for Awa Odori.
