    I installed the lowered foot pegs from ProCycle. Very happy with the extra leg room. I'm 173cm.

    All solid upgrades, but you must have hemorrhoids like river rocks. Keeping that stock Suzuki seat... you're a better man than I am. I had to go with the Sargent seat on my bush pig.
    "Thumbs up" from this Kentucky boy. 👍

    I highly recommend some engine protection, and the procycle jet kit will be the best mod u have done on your bike. And I just removed the snorkel , did not cut my airbox. The bike purrs now, starts right up, I think I put the 150 jet in it.

    Apparently Suzuki fixed the NSU bolts as of 2017. Planning to do the fix on my 2016 soon

    • @Kyleesler

      Wouldn't even bother with NSU. I done my 2013 model and it has the hex head cap screws in from factory and both were tight enough and would never of came off.

    Love the bike. Ive just got a new one and thinking of a slightly louder exhaust. Dont want too loud and not after more performance either. Just need to hear the engine. Do you find yours a bit too loud?

    • @tassieadventurerider4815
      @tassieadventurerider4815  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was initially with the staintune muffler, however I’ve just fitted a small baffle insert to the end of the muffler and that has made a great difference. Some use a GSXR 750 standard muffler which is non restrictive but still a good sound. ( search this on TH-cam) hope this helps.

    Nice bike. Looks like a great setup improvement wise. How many klm's do you get out of the new tank and have you found that it swells a little as it ages and will hold more fuel like the Safari tanks do ?

    • @tassieadventurerider4815
      @tassieadventurerider4815  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve never tested the tank to the max yet, but have done 400kms before reserve. I haven’t noticed the tank swelling yet but will watch the litres to fill next time.... thanks for the tip 👌

    Hey, I'm curious with the kind of riding you do, what do you think of the DR650's stock suspension? Have you changed anything there?

    • @tassieadventurerider4815
      @tassieadventurerider4815  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, the suspension is still stock, however I’ve wound the rear shock up as much as possible ( didn’t make much difference) I mainly do good tracks ,dirt roads and slow rough tracks. If your doing jumps or fast wash outs ect, I’d recommend upgrading the suspension. The standard suspension is not that great on the 650. The DRZ 400 has better stock suspension. Hope this helps 👍🏍

      @@tassieadventurerider4815 Hey there, I ended up getting one of these in Nov and LOVE it! Very similar to yours. Stock shock is fine for me, but also came with FFRC fork emulators, which are great. I've bought some for my other bike and they made a big difference there as well YSS brand. Cheers.

    • @tassieadventurerider4815
      @tassieadventurerider4815  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@louvega8414 thanks, I may consider upgrading the suspension, especially the rear… the std suspension is average and that’s being kind. 👌

    Hey, me again. I have a similar setup with Mitas EO7 Dakar rear. I find it a bit skittish on gravel. My Scorpion Trail 2 (on Versys) did much better on same gravel tracks. Any thoughts?

    • @tassieadventurerider4815
      @tassieadventurerider4815  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Dakar version is very stiff in the side walls for rough terrain durability... I've never tried the scorpion Trail 2. tyre pressures are important too but on fine loose gravel on a hard surface, most tyres will struggle at some point

      @@tassieadventurerider4815 Yeah, I don't get it. I've got a set of D606s I'll try on next. Any reason you went with E07 rear and 606 front?

    • @tassieadventurerider4815
      @tassieadventurerider4815  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@louvega8414 I did run a 606 rear before and I wanted to compare the wear between the E07+ . I am going back to the 606 on the rear next change simply because where I ride now needs a road legal knobby for more wet muddy conditions

    • @tassieadventurerider4815

      @@tassieadventurerider4815 fair enough. Wasn't a performance choice then just repair/upgrade. Was there a noticeable difference? I remember doing it to my old GSF600 made a big difference. But like you I now have a new dr650 and wasn't sure it would be worth it. Improving the seat seems more of a priority

    • @tassieadventurerider4815

      @@iammrsnesbit6014 yes, the seat is a must for comfort. It’s something I haven’t done yet but will as soon as supplies are available again. I didn’t notice a great deal of difference with the brake line and only replaced it because I damaged the other…. It would be better than the stock one.

      Hi, at the moment I’m running a Mitas E 07+ on the rear and a Dunlop 606 front. I will switch back to the 606 rear as well just for winter months, because the Mitas does struggle in heavy mud and clay. Cheers 🍻
