@divise249 Personally it's the forced stealth sections. Particularly the Argeus section where you stealth around him to then go on and fight him anyway. Also being part of a beloved franchise I'm not sure how well it treats the lore and therefore the long time fanbase.
Gameplay is hideous in almost every aspect. Though story is very good. I mean if gameplay was at least playable, with less backtracking and more logic, it would be true masterpiece. But as it is... It's better to watch cut-scenes alone.
@@kakhakheviashvili6365 the gameplay isn't much different from the First los. Just expanded slightly. The game got ok reviews because it could of been alot better. Start of the game is amazing but the rest isn't. The cinematic trailer shows Gabriel or aka Dracula killing hundreds of soldiers with ease and they all fear him. It sucks the game couldn't have ended up like that.
Okay I think I enjoyed most of this, but my god that scene with Gabriel trying to kill Alucard (Satan) in slow motion was hilarious! XD Honestly this was the finale, the end to the true essence of evil, the demon who has manipulated, enslaved and punished many who fell to sin and he makes that a scream of panic made even more silly with the slow motion effect. XD I'm glad they decided to do the scene like this.
Oh my god, I couldn't not stop laughing cause they did it in slow motion! I mean it was awesome that he defeated satan, but reminded me of Darth Vader like "NOOOO!"
remember, technically gabriel wouldn't mind killing his son, because he knows for a fact that he's sending alucard to heaven. small price to pay to rid the world of satan forever...I guess.
Satan's death scene was terribly anticlimatic for me. He starts off riding through the skies on a snake thing and then dies on a suburban street with his back on a grate. Zobek, a guy who is supposed to be less powerful than Satan had a more satisfying death scene...
Los2 had quite some bad sales and it's director kinda fucked the Los subfranchise. At least there's MoF for those who want more of the Los timeline. If castlevania return it will either be a game in the old timeline or the Netflix timeline.
Am I the only one who thinks Castlevania LOS2 is one of the greatest games ever? I mean, there is underrated & then there is this level of obliviousness. I've never heard, & still do not hear, anyone speaking about it at all. The gameplay is so smooth with combat that is truly top tier. The voice acting is absolutely incredible. The level of detail within this masterpiece is astonishing, making this game wondrously beautiful. Look no further than throne room at the very beginning of the game. Seriously try to take it in....... its glorious. If I just knew how to mod, I would dedicate years to making changes & additions for this game. Being the Prince of Darkness has never been more badass. R.I.P. Kojima's Konami.
I retract my original comment, I first thought the reworking of the story was bad, but after spending time on it, its actually pretty enjoyable. Gabriel's a great character, and I like the perspective it.
Sun light doesn’t kill him, the powers he obtained from the lords of shadow keeps him alive even if his body is disintegrated, only a weapon used by the vampire that has attachment to him can kill him. If you did turn him to ashes using sunlight, it would only weaken him. In this game the sword that is stabbed into his heart took away his powers because it had a fragment of the vampire killer. So if you have a another way of killing him, I’m open to suggestions. It’s is as to say that in order for you to kill someone such as Thor you need to use his hammer for only the weapon of a Norse “god” can kill the “god”
he actually can't die at all he eternally damned in mortal realm close to a fkin ghost but can neither go heaven or hell and maintains the balance god made him chosen one to burden the fate of safeguard humanity
@@ericx6969 I always thought that the older the Vampire, the less likely he or she is to be killed by sunlight. At the very least an elder Vampite would just get a headache or feel slightly weakened.
Man i just love the way they reinvented the castlevania series with these games at the end of the first game i thought they were making an entirely new universe and only using gabriel as a belmont hook. But with this game rhey bring characters like Alucard and Damilla back into this universe i a way it makes sense withing this universe thankfully not in a fanservice bullshit kindaa way. I held off on buying this game because people said it sucked now i see that they were through theirpink nostalgia glasses and just hoped for another SotN, but now that i've seen what kind of effort they made to keep the vharacters original charm while still making them fit in this universe. Next time i have some spare money i will buy this game because these devs deserve my money.
Screw those haters, I love the LOS story. It's not just simple black and white, you get to see how a hero falls in to darkness by being screwed over far too many times, then gets saved by the love of his family and slowly redeems himself. I love the depth of the characters and the story.
So basically aside from Dracula and alucard, the Belmonts are pretty much whiped out? That's fuckin sad, I won't be able to play any older castlvania games without feeling sad now. Not to mention victors death felt pretty needless, he could've escaped.
yes but the Belmonts is a husk of what they are used to be, only few of em still hunts demonic beings since their job is as rare as it can get and not until Dawn of Sorrow that we saw last of the Castlevania chronology.
@@DOT107 Lords of Shadow is not the same storyline as the old school Castlevania it's from a different universe or world if you will personally I like those of Shadow storyline better than the original Castlevania storylines .

how so lol... also i guess that game not being as popular eventhought it's legit that good was due the - nyeh this isn't castlevania anymore, game sucks - general bandwagon though
The somber look he gives when he looks at his handy work is quite nice it's amazing to think that there is some ounce of "why the shit am I doing this anymore..."
Thank you for putting so much work into this video, it's great to be able to watch the story like a movie! It seams though that there have been a few errors when converting (?) the video. Starting at around 1:47:40 the screen goes black for some time while the sound remains.
I liked the game , for those that hated it because of the dream state that takes place and such and the characters therein...this is all in very well perceived chance for Gabriel to redeem himself. The characters in the castle are all those that Gabriel lorded over. Some like Euryale and even the toymaker see that their time has come and wish to help , but their lords darker nature controls them. Even Carmilla has her part, which to be fair i was confused upon seeing her until it is explained that even Dracula has still the lustful workings of a young man. But i digress, this place is only to ensure he takes the right path. To end Satan , to not help Zobek and be at his absolute PINNACLE of greatness when doing so. So much that he is unswayed to kill his son again to save mankind. He effectively kills two of the greatest evils in this game, his darker nature and Satan himself. I loved this game, it had a depth to it, effectively making Gabriel/Dracula still holding out for hope for mankind, after all the centuries, after all they've done, he still makes that choice, this was a great sequel, seeing how both games actually play upon the same prophecy and making it come full circle. At the very end of Lords of Shadow 2, the world in fact knows peace, with father and son chasing down the dwindling masses of demons that still plague the world, instead of ruling over it with the other creatures of darkness.
No you are not but the accent is pretty cool to I just miss the original ... That game shoulda an coulda made it to the movies if someone WOULDA made the effort
I still remember playing Castlevania 2 - Simon's Quest just like it was yesterday lol and being amazed at its whopping 16 colors total on screen and sprite pixels the size of a fist :P
I love how they made the Crissaegrim a centerpiece weapon of Alucard in this considering It was one of if not the most powerful weapon in SOTN. (that i'm sure most people farmed for hours to try to get it to drop...lol..)
5 star to this game and all the cut scenes it makes sense to me that Trevor ended up being turned into a vampire like heck who else could possibly be Alucard? He even looks good 😍 gotta love his long grey hair good thing he doesn't have any wrinkles :D As for Dracula well I'm happy for the guy and anyways it looks he'll be taking another nap while Alucard walks around the city or stays close to his father always protectin him like father like son they wuv each other T.T
these is not the original story lone tho. Trevor and Alucard are not the same in the original game story. but is good to see Dracula being a little good tho. just a little he kill a family at the beginning to recover him self. if they want him to be good then they better make him follow a different game line.
in these one i guess if you ignore the thousand of people he has kill... but in the original well... just don't hold your breath... but it seem to suggest that he stop being dracula. these game has a mix of event quotes and characters from the other castlevania games.
Gameplay issues. Crap setting, boring lifeless world, annoying puzzles. Great characters and story I prefer Lord of Shadow 1. had a more castlevania feel. Nice world, lovely locations and although the puzzles could feel annoying at times, I never felt like I was bored from what I was doing or looking at. Lord of Shadow 2 had me going insane at how I was just running around ruins, elevators and phasing back and forth between reality and Draculas Castle.
It was in its own right, but as a Lords of Shadow sequel it fell short. The first one had a much better presentation and pacing in the story. This one was more predictable, boring, overall feels less inspired than the first one. It was an ok game but will never match up or go beyond what the previous managed to achieve.
kind of wish they went with some more forms of vampire powers... i mean he's dracula right, free-climbing just feels so plain; even for his stature. More vampire powers, and more unique attacks (like the dragon form)
+WaveForceful Yeah, if I was Simon Belmont, and while in the afterlife, I figured out that after all this time, Dracula was still alive, I'd be pissed.
Only stupid thing about this game is that zobek can't find the acolytes. They're the heads of the world's largest corporations, and inside buildings protected by an insane amount of magic. Both of these things should kinda narrow it down.
@@laurentiusmcmxcv I agree. Konami should've given some extra time for development. Maybe one or two levels after the getting back the memory and before Zobek and Satan. Like showing more interactions between Alucard and Dracula and maybe Zobek suspecting something but not that soon.
Thanks for the vid! But yeah, Konami: Now you've done this, can we have a proper updated Castlevania game, now? Maybe somewhere between SOTN and Witcher 3 would be a good pointer.
Well I must say I actually enjoyed this game and I've been a great fan of the franchise since I first played the original on an nes emulator for pc back when I was a kid. Of course it has it flaws but overall I liked it. As always this is just my opinion, that may differ from your own. I just felt the need of saying this because of all the negative criticism this game has received.
This storyline alone with previous installment by this Spain-based new studio leads Castlevania series into a new direction, I'd like to see both Japanese-based studio and Spain-based studio together make next Castlevania series installment in future, good gameplay with decent characters unlike some today's self bragging and centered characters designed in video games, Castlevania is a gem in video game history. Very epic ancient visual works with modern factors merged in, a big appreciation. Robert Carlyle and Sir Patrick Stewart bring characters to life with decent dialogue and conversation, they must be back in future Castlevania installments.
The perfect ending would have been with Alucard giving Dracula the fatal blow with the Vampire Killer. Dracula would have finally found the eternal rest and God would have granted him the chance to repent for the evil he had done to humanity since his transformation. The good inside him would have re-emerged and we could have seen Gabriel once more as the brave and pure warrior as he ascended to heaven. The hero has finally completed his path from the blind hope for his beloved one, through despair, damnation, the salvation of the world and God's forgiveness.

Gabriel to Alucard: "The next time you creep up on me from behind will be your last."
Me: "Oh,darkling,if you only knew..."
Honestly seeing Gabriel fight a member of the brotherhood of light and have all the same powers that Gabriel had was kinda weird
I don't get the reviews, this game is a masterpiece !
Kevin-N people hate change ,but you are right, this Castlevania is pure gold
The cutscenes are but I don’t like this type of gameplay
Like god of war cutscenes is my favourite movie but I hate the gameplay
@divise249
Personally it's the forced stealth sections.
XD
Honestly this was the finale, the end to the true essence of evil, the demon who has manipulated, enslaved and punished many who fell to sin and he makes that a scream of panic made even more silly with the slow motion effect. XD
I'm glad they decided to do the scene like this.
The Lord of shadow series really made me want more , so much lore , the scenery, the universal balance of good, evil, nuetral
""Who knows what fate has in store." Certainly not a sequel with Konami as a producer that's for sure!
Los2 had quite some bad sales and it's director kinda fucked the Los subfranchise. At least there's MoF for those who want more of the Los timeline. If castlevania return it will either be a game in the old timeline or the Netflix timeline.
You mean no sequel!
Wow... Its just now that i come to realise that Richard Madden voiced Alucard. And he nailed it.
To me, it's Rumplestiltskin and Robb Stark taking on Captain Picard and Lucius Malfoy 😂
I really don't care what anyone else says, the Lords of Shadow games were pretty awesome.
That said, I do hope the next game is of the main timeline.
I feel disappointed with LoS 2 compared to the first LoS.
"What happens now?"
"Who knows what fate has in store "
A few fates later:
EROTIC VIOLENCE!!!
HIT THE LEVER!
Dracula and Alucard:
"...........OH HELL NO!"
* goes to Japan and beats the shit out of Konami with assistance from Solid Snake! *
Bogyman Noobman Ahhh, now THAT would be a worthy sequel.
I retract my original comment, I first thought the reworking of the story was bad, but after spending time on it, its actually pretty enjoyable. Gabriel's a great character, and I like the perspective it.
28:05 - Me (Playing the game): Wait, there's a family trapped here...am I here to save...
28:34 - Also Me (Playing the game): Oh no...
Im amazed on how good the game looked, 2 console generations ago and it often seems to keep up with today!
totally agree with you
If Dracula wants so much to die, he just need to wake up in the middle of the day and open the kitchen window.
It’s is as to say that in order for you to kill someone such as Thor you need to use his hammer for only the weapon of a Norse “god” can kill the “god”
put him in oven ? after become ash ?
@@ATalesTruth- yep we found out that he cannot die from when he was defeated by Alucard and Simon in mirror of Fate
he actually can't die at all he eternally damned in mortal realm close to a fkin ghost but can neither go heaven or hell and maintains the balance god made him chosen one to burden the fate of safeguard humanity
@@ericx6969 I always thought that the older the Vampire, the less likely he or she is to be killed by sunlight. At the very least an elder Vampite would just get a headache or feel slightly weakened.
This was a very well written game the dialogue was very well done! I felt like I was watching a movie! Thanks for the upload!
I held off on buying this game because people said it sucked now i see that they were through theirpink nostalgia glasses and just hoped for another SotN,
but now that i've seen what kind of effort they made to keep the vharacters original charm while still making them fit in this universe.
Next time i have some spare money i will buy this game because these devs deserve my money.
i love ppl like you. I want to support this game too bec i can tell Love went into it
Immortal Dracula in a 21st Century? Interesting.....
I don't think it's 21st Century. More like late 20th.
Kulkowa its in 2057.
Alucard is very well done
Dracula: "Ironic, don't you think?"
Me: "IT'S LIKE RAIIIIIIIAIIIIIN ON UR WEDDING DAAAAY"
Lol I had to do a paper on that finding and explaining the ironies in the song...oh 8th grade.
Phoebe Belmont *slaps you hard* No! That meme is dead!
What an amazing game, the design and the score is fabulous. I kept my ps3 just to play this game few times a year
That part were they both chanted with the cross in hand ..is always awesome to me....
Not to mention victors death felt pretty needless, he could've escaped.
unicron3000 Don't worry. This is a seperate continuity. In the original series, the Belmonts live on into the 21st Century!
yes but the Belmonts is a husk of what they are used to be, only few of em still hunts demonic beings since their job is as rare as it can get and not until Dawn of Sorrow that we saw last of the Castlevania chronology.
@@DOT107 Lords of Shadow is not the same storyline as the old school Castlevania it's from a different universe or world if you will personally I like those of Shadow storyline better than the original Castlevania storylines .
alucard could have had children lol raised belmonts too
@@ericx6969 In a different timeline. And even then, it would be hard to distinguish the differences between man and vampire. If the kid's lucky, they'll be humanish Dunpeal. Not vampires, but not normal humans either
The dash in the game was truly beautiful ,it really makes you feel the amazing speed of Dracula.
This game is an example of how spinoff games should be. While completely different from the original castlevania games, it should be considered a "tribute" reboot to the original series.
DmC is what you'd call an insult...
Didn’t expect to finds you here? An awesome Bleach music in Lord of Shadow is very accurate.
DMC5 fix DmC everything what had established. CA: LOS deserves better.
@@HsienKoMeiLingFormerYANG It seems my reputation precedes me...😁 And yes Dmc5 was by far the most mature and complete game of the series...
Just finished this primary game (still have revelations) and all i can say is AMAZING!!! Everything was so perfect such an underestimated game...I know in today's world comercialism is everything and this game had almost none...but I will always hope for a new game following the stories...some critics gave this game 4...wth it was in my opinion at least as good as God of War 3, it had everything I was looking for...A fantastic story with a twist nobody expected, a beautiful gameplay that required skill in ataking and Defending, beautiful dialog...can't wait to start revelation too
dont play the sequel, youll have your heart broken
how so lol... also i guess that game not being as popular eventhought it's legit that good was due the - nyeh this isn't castlevania anymore, game sucks - general bandwagon though
what is the sequel called?
What twist was there in LoS 2?
Damn doing the Camila fight i didnt even suck Marie's Blood once, i guess i forgot to do that, i was too busy Wiping the floor with Camila lol.
I knew Zobek couldn't be trusted! I just had the hunch from the moment I saw him, but I enjoyed watching it. I've never played the Castlevania series.
this game looks and sounds like Hellsing Ultimate
Kenneth Burright in a good way or a bad way? Jw
Dracula: I like to take VERY enthusiastic walks through the woods
The somber look he gives when he looks at his handy work is quite nice it's amazing to think that there is some ounce of "why the shit am I doing this anymore..."
The story line to this game is absolutely incredible
8:06 "You shall not pass!" Gandalf, is that you?
though this comment will have disagreement i personally enjoyed the game and its story line, a bit hard to follow but good none the less :)
I love how they represent void with cold and chaos with heat, it somehow makes sense in physics way
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, for the movie version plus the perfect edit on parts and stuff, thanks again!!!
Thank you for putting so much work into this video, it's great to be able to watch the story like a movie! It seams though that there have been a few errors when converting (?) the video. Starting at around 1:47:40 the screen goes black for some time while the sound remains.
mini mei soo I am not the only one good

"Goodbye, old man. Guard your heart well"
I liked the game , for those that hated it because of the dream state that takes place and such and the characters therein...this is all in very well perceived chance for Gabriel to redeem himself.
I wish I could summon my clothes from the ground, would save me so much money
I love how the game brings the truth that the castle is alive in a way.
I can watch it forever! The best game about vampire ever!:) it is sad that Castlevania 3 doesn’t exist. :,(
13:40 most badass scene from almost any video game.
Just this cut-scenes compilation is already a better movie than the Avengers.
Well you've got some baggage that makes you sound idiotic
Was I the only one hoping that Alucard would have been voiced by the same guy who did Alucard from SOTN?
No you are not but the accent is pretty cool to I just miss the original ... That game shoulda an coulda made it to the movies if someone WOULDA made the effort
Waas Or HELLSING
Doruk Ünal I would have been happy with that.
+Waas I agree, Robert Belgrade' s voice was better.
I still remember playing Castlevania 2 - Simon's Quest just like it was yesterday lol and being amazed at its whopping 16 colors total on screen and sprite pixels the size of a fist :P
Netflix: are tou still watching??
Someonelse doughter: 1:37:08
Best Dracula, best story, best characters. I love the original storyline but this is more tragic, dark and adult.
Strongest vamp
this game s trailer still brings shivers down my spine to this day!!!
Doesn’t it drive you crazy that castlevania has become so big and popular now.
I love how they made the Crissaegrim a centerpiece weapon of Alucard in this considering It was one of if not the most powerful weapon in SOTN. (that i'm sure most people farmed for hours to try to get it to drop...lol..)
Is it stronger than alucard's shield doe?
The battle with the Toy Maker is my personal favourite.
5 star to this game and all the cut scenes it makes sense to me that Trevor ended up being turned into a vampire like heck who else could possibly be Alucard? He even looks good 😍 gotta love his long grey hair good thing he doesn't have any wrinkles :D As for Dracula well I'm happy for the guy and anyways it looks he'll be taking another nap while Alucard walks around the city or stays close to his father always protectin him like father like son they wuv each other T.T
i like his eye shadows

***** But its sexy
***** Probably only you.
***** Do you have eye shadows?
Anyone know any other games like this? The combat mechanics is amazing! I wish to play other games similar to this!
Devil may cry
So...Satan is Arnold Schwarzenegger?
Dracula be like at the beginning "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU A-HOLES DOING TO MY CRIB !?"
hahahahahahahahaha,great comment!!!!!!!
I love this game. I just wish they didn't put him in a modern city. At that point it felt like a DC game
the last castlevania I played was simon's quest but this game is incredible
these is not the original story lone tho.
Trevor and Alucard are not the same in the original game story.
but is good to see Dracula being a little good tho.
just a little he kill a family at the beginning to recover him self.
if they want him to be good then they better make him follow a different game line.
they did make him become good little by little tho.
meganabaja
Does he end up redeeming himself at the end of the game?
in these one i guess if you ignore the thousand of people he has kill...
but in the original well... just don't hold your breath...
but it seem to suggest that he stop being dracula.
these game has a mix of event quotes and characters from the other castlevania games.
Wait he kills thousands of people? I thought this whole game was about killing Satan, his demons and his minions, etc.
George Washington apparently you are not familiar with castlevania
ugh, this was so amazing!!!! I hope there's more.
😂😂😂I'm deadass watching this as if it's a movie
i wonder what he saw on the mirrior, guees we'll never know for sure :D
Think he decided against trusting the mirror and decided to find out for himself.
What the fuhk is wrong with you people? This game was amazing.
Gameplay issues.
Crap setting, boring lifeless world, annoying puzzles.
Great characters and story
I prefer Lord of Shadow 1.
had a more castlevania feel. Nice world, lovely locations and although the puzzles could feel annoying at times, I never felt like I was bored from what I was doing or looking at.
Lord of Shadow 2 had me going insane at how I was just running around ruins, elevators and phasing back and forth between reality and Draculas Castle.
The dash in the game was truly beautiful ,it really makes you feel the amazing speed of Dracula.
It was in its own right, but as a Lords of Shadow sequel it fell short. The first one had a much better presentation and pacing in the story. This one was more predictable, boring, overall feels less inspired than the first one. It was an ok game but will never match up or go beyond what the previous managed to achieve.
Nostalgia blinders and unwillingness to think outside the critic box.
Twists and turns are my master plan, to find what you seek go back to where to where you began
kind of wish they went with some more forms of vampire powers... i mean he's dracula right, free-climbing just feels so plain; even for his stature.
More vampire powers, and more unique attacks (like the dragon form)
If you summon someone to your castle to beat them, don't leave three bodies lying around to be possessed...
That guy should be playable in Smash
A majestic castle in the middle of the city.
People and historians:- ahh who gives a fuck
at the beginning, man Gabriel is powerful as fuck.
+WaveForceful Yeah, if I was Simon Belmont, and while in the afterlife, I figured out that after all this time, Dracula was still alive, I'd be pissed.
what is a reply......but a miserable pile of humorous remarks!
I didn't hold X and repeatably tap X for nothing. Fuckin' love that move.
Only stupid thing about this game is that zobek can't find the acolytes. They're the heads of the world's largest corporations, and inside buildings protected by an insane amount of magic. Both of these things should kinda narrow it down.
The cross is not only meant to kill vampires, it is also meant to be used on any unholy creature.
The ending left much to be desired. Great motion capture though.
The ending was rushed
The rest of the game was alright
@@laurentiusmcmxcv I agree. Konami should've given some extra time for development. Maybe one or two levels after the getting back the memory and before Zobek and Satan. Like showing more interactions between Alucard and Dracula and maybe Zobek suspecting something but not that soon.
cutscenes are better than the game lol
That is something really common in videogames(since the NES Ninja Gaiden actually)
21:47-22:08
had a giggle fit. I can't imagine badass "recovered" dracula ever sounding/acting like that
I dont give a shit what people think,i liked this game. Bring on the hate fanboys!
lol at 1:52:00 monster thinking hes Gandalf
Thanks for the vid!
But yeah, Konami: Now you've done this, can we have a proper updated Castlevania game, now? Maybe somewhere between SOTN and Witcher 3 would be a good pointer.
When I first saw the giant robot at 4:20 I was like "well fuck, the Templars have a Jaeger. The assassins and mages are totally screwed."
2:35:32 So what there are sith lords in the game now? *FORCE LIGHTING* xD
Seriously that guy in the banded splint mail looks like Palpatine. XD
