Strve smith just gets better....Inspiring to this 73 year old drummer....Ralph Onofrio
Incredible!!!
Superb!!!!!
Zero swing. Zero groove. To everyone who thinks this is valuable in any sense of the word, keep your eyes on that Hi Hat. He does not know where the 2 and the 4 are. It never solidifies into swing. It is all over the place. He has only taught himself how to move around the drums and end up in a place where he can land. It is not cohesive at all. If this were performed live with professional jazz musicians, it would be a train wreck.
Watch Max, Art, Philly, Elvin, Jack, Tony, Billy, Ed. That is where you will find swing, groove. Don't waste your time watching a 2nd rate drummer trying to sell 2nd rate drums. Buy yourself a set of Craviottos and live the real life. Listen to the masters of jazz drumming and now some of he few new young guys who really know how to play. This guy is a fake and he knows it himself.
Exquisite combination of hi-hat and ride cymbal, smooth
El mejor baterista Hi México🇲🇽🇲🇽❤

Are we going to get a reissue of these drums with an 18” FT thrown in this time?
You can take the rocker out ot rock, but you can't take the rock out of the rocker. I hear too many rock-influenced licks in his playing to this recorded jazz piece. A basic 4-piece drum set, too would help, perhaps ? To my ears, today's premier drummer on the scene to play brushes switching to sticks, is the great Jeff Hamilton.
