At the end of our commercial season, all my reels are stripped of line before I Service them for the winter . Then I spool new backing and line at the beginning of our next season. Trust me you will much more confidence in your terminal tackle for your next fishing season .
Thanks for the video, helped me fix the couch disengaging - but despite that now I have a new “sound” that comes with turning the handle. Seems to Come from the pinion gear. Any ideas what I might have missed ?
That's hard to say. I would go back and compare your work against the thematic to make sure that the reel has been assembled properly and that all parts are properly seated. - Dennis
Hi, have a question for you on the 1500HG. Was fishing with it on the weekend and the handle was slipping backwards, about a 1/8th of a turn. I got it home and could emulate the slippage. Pulled the reel apart (with the help of your video) and all looks fine. With the side off I can't make it slip. Am I right in thinking it's a failed anti-reverse bearing? Is there anything else it might be? Cheers Sean
That sure sounds like a slipping anti-reverse. A good cleaning of the spacer or inner collar should help if the A/R is gripping and holding after the initial slip - Dennis
I just dont understand why guys dont strip their line at the end of the season. Sometimes I change my line 2 or 3 times during the season to be sure I don't lose that fish of a lifetime. Line is cheap! Dont be a cheap fisherman and you'll make Dennis life much easier.
Thanks for the tip. I think one of the problems is that folks may not fish every day or week and they forget that the line will age and breakdown even when they are not on the water - Thanks for the tip - Dennis
That is a very nice reel Dennis. Don't forget the power handle setting! Thanks
Will do
Really Sophisticated looking Reel.

That looks like a beauty .

Why dose the anti reverse stop working when the drag is tighten ? 114 H red pen
I suspect that the spring is not installed properly or that the dog tip is worn and not connecting with the gear sleve insets.
@@2ndChanceTackle thank you
Is that a hot dog above your board? lol
Nope!
nice reel
Thanks! I like this one a lot
