I honestly can't decide which item of clothing I like the most!!!! What an absolutely gorgeous wardrobe you have created for yourself!!! So talented!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your capsule wardrobe. I have been holding onto the fabric I love and now I know what pattern I would like to make things out of. They look so lovely. You are a great seamstress and they look great on you and I appreciate your video, I’m going to subscribe
Thank you very much for your sweet and kind words and I'm glad you liked the video and found it useful! Hope you'll enjoy sewing these patterns as much as I did! ☺️🥰🥰
So great to see this much interest in the vintage styles!!!! One important thing to keep in mind tho, the real vintage patterns are sized totally different, a vintage 12 will be about a size 8 in today's' patterns. If you aren't that familiar with enlarging patterns, then look at the current patterns, just about all the pattern companies have a section with "retro" patterns (exact duplicates of the original patterns) in today's sizing. They cover all eras and make life a whole lot easier!!!! Also keep in mind that the original patterns were designed to be worn with "foundation" undergarments (usually girdles) under the outer dress and even pants. Hope this helps, happy sewing!!!!!!!
Thank you! Yes I do know that sizing was different and after a few trials and errors I know now what my size is in vintage patterns. But even if it's a bit more tricky to sew with original vintage patterns, I still enjoy it very much and I also learn new skills every time!
I love your channel, I love this style. Could you tell us readers what size that you are, so I ( we) can see if these styles might look good on our size bodies
@@marybehn3139 thank you so much! I think I'm a US size 6 (UK 10), but sometimes I may go up or down one size, depending on the fit of the garment... 😊
Mad Men was actually set in the 60's. The early 60's clothes were still a lot like the 50's clothes. I still remember my mother's dresses with full skirts and crinolines. I wore Shift style dresses to school in the later 60's. Those styles have come back too.
You’ve made so many fabulous garments! I love all of them and those high waisted cigarette pants are now on my to make list! Such a fun, fab 50s-style presentation too. I saw a certain little ginger person make his presence known on the cat (get it?! 😹) walk too. Also you have an amazing figure for one who says she spurns exercise! 💗🎀
Haha yes Leo made a cameo appearance! Thank you for the beautifull words and compliments! I'm very happy that my mom gave me some great genes and I can get away without exercise. But I also think my diet of no sugar/dairy and meat helps a lot too! 💕❤

Maybe ask a grownup in your family if they'd be willing to download it for you... Or scout the internet for other free petticoat patterns... 😉😉
I'm 76 years old; and, your dresses really do look like the dresses that were worn in the 1950's. Even your hair. Don't forget the hats.

I like everything but the Dolman Jacket is my favorite 6:18. Would love it made into a blouse and worn with a pair of the cigarettes pants.
Oh yes that sounds awesome. I may try to make it into a blouse, thanks for the suggestion! 😊
The Dolman sleeve jacket is fabulous; but then again, all the items are fabulous. You look amazing in all of them.
