Thanks for the peptalk! Seven weeks sober after 15 years of moderate to heavy every day drinking. My moods go from bright days to dark and doom periods. Still determent to push on and stay sober.
The highs and lows can be exhausting. I remember being around 5 weeks sober and one particular day i felt really healthy and optimistic. I got so much done that day. Then the evening came and i fell into hell in my mind for no particular reason. It was so awful that i almost made the decision to go and buy a bottle, but luckily i was too tired to get up. I dodged a bullet that night but what it taught me is that no matter how bad things got i didn't have to pick up a drink. I woke up the next morning absolutely relieved and astounded i was still sober.
Didn’t get to this in time blew a 3 weeks sober. All because of boredom. Worked out, cleaned apartment, got a haircut and could t fight the bored feeling
Can you do a video on if youve been able to forgive the people who hurt you or how you deal with those past traumas and bullying when the memories surface?
Despite the things you went through you look fabulous! It is a blessing that you didn't injure your liver of something else because those are the things that can really drag you down when sober. Bessings Sober Forever! ✌
Alcoholic for decades and knew I had to quit. Tried in my own strength to give up over and over again. Finally I said I cant do this I give up. Thats when I felt an invisible hand on my shoulder and heard a voice that said I'm trying to help you. It was Jesus. He taught me to take every thought captive. The problem with AA is it says once an alcoholic always an alcoholic. God gives us a rebirth spiritually throu his Son Jesus. We are born again into his family. A new creature. Dont be drunk with wine but be filled with the holy spirit.
My last 2 drinks were on May 25th and I went to the hospital after 5 days of no sleep going through DT's. I went through hell to get out of hell. Jun 10th sober still.
Do not do AA ...It’ll make you want to drink ! It’s so depressing but do it if you feel it’s right for you...not me ..I just stopped and grit my teeth eventually the urge will weaken..I don’t even think about it now! Oh I’m a believer in Jesus and it’s important! 😊❤️🤗

Get a punch bag or mountain bike or get into rowing!
Find a few hobbies to fill your free time with and you'll never be bored again

No need to freak. Unless you are approaching a bad alcohol withdrawal. Please see your healthcare provider on advice on this.
....and don’t be hard on yourself...yes have indulgences!

If the higher power isn’t Jesus then it has no power ...there is power in Christ and yes sugar is the enemy...ethanol is a very concentrated sugar!
Amen!
