This is why I love your channel. It is so informative and you show things other channels do not show. You teach us so much about shelling, the animals and the beaches. It’s great!!! So many channels just show you the stuff they like and pick up. Sometimes passing over all kinds of shells, especially if they are common shells or broken shells. But they may not be common to the viewer and I love broken shells. You can find unique common shells so I say investigate as much as possible. And that is definitely what you do. Thank you for sharing.
What a great video. So amazing to see so much life on the beach. I haven’t seen so of these beautiful creatures since I was a little girl. Thank you very much.
I have never ever seen a video with such awesome footage of low tide.. so green with rnvy.. I wad excited right along with you at the wonderment of it all.. esp at the point where there should be s huge drop off.. A a concrete path right thru psradise.. heaven knows what the pier would have! Thank you for providing this to us Laura!!
Thank you Laura for such an incredible video! Wow I never new the concrete structures were there. I really loved seeing the birds too. Last June when I went to Sanibel I saw a lot of sand dollars too. Just incredible. What a joy it is to see these videos! Thank you!
Oh my, I love the starfish, and the tiny shells--so delicate and angelic. But sand-dollars, now they really attract me. Not sure why exactly, but I love them. What a cool beach walk, really enjoyed the crab with the "hat"--was that a barnacle maybe? LOL, Mr. Krabb probably thought he was wearing the latest fashion and would be handsome for the lady crabs!
Wow...I have seen a lot of sand dollars, but nothing like that humongous live one in the video and the one that was broken! 😊💖🙏 Blessings and happy shelling!
You would need to carry a small sifter. It wont take as long to collect. I wish I was there with you hun. I would be in my glory. Sand dollar island....lol. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.....Janet.
What a cool video! I watch a guy in Australia who is always rescuing sea slugs, but I didn't realize they are native to Florida also! I guess the ocean is a world in its own right! Thanks!
Hi I came across your channel and subscribed. Thank you for sharing so many amazing sea creatures and I had no idea that the the debris along the shore is actually micro shells. Amazing 🐚💕
Pretty cool to see the critters. We have seldom seen much alive on Sanibel. But then the beach goes in cycles and we are not there every year. There have been fighting c onchs and lightning whelks one year, a few sea stars another. I like the birds including osprey. Thanks for posting.
Beautiful starfish & design!!! The sand dollar is pretty as well. You seem to know quite a bit about these creatures!!! I'm still very new to your channel. My 2nd Video. I used Florida shells to decorate my memory boxes & natural wood pictures frames.
This is so fun. We've been on the very sand which you are now. We've stayed on. East Gulf lately, several summers ahead and after covid renting a lovely condo 5 nights. Isn't the new camera toll neat ?l Have fun. Be safe.
Beach friendly waterproof lip colors! They're pretty awesome! They provide UV protection and don't come off in the water! You can learn more in my fun Facebook group: facebook.com/groups/beautyandthebeachwithlauramanson
You can usually see the operculum, esp on white shells (most shells that small don't have their coloring just yet). And (unfortunately) hatching shells usually wash up on the beach because they didn't make it. They cannot withstand the high impact of the waves, like the adults can, and they also cannot withstand long lengths of time out of the water.
Just found your channel and I’m loving it. So different from most. Very informative. 👍my favorite part is the tiny shells!! Thank you for filming!
That video was AMAZING!!👏👏👏👏👏💖💖

I love that you pick up the slimy stuff too! I’m not that brave!
Love all the love stuff at low tide!😊❤️ Thanks, Laura!
Thanks for sharing that! I would think seeing all those things alive is probably more fun than collecting shells.

Still here. An inquiry of Sanibel birds says little blue heron.
If you're referring to the crazy little bird it's a Reddish Egret 😊
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💖💖💖💖
😍
the sand dollar was so big
Why no other commenters? They must be getting pastry at Baileys and Jerry's. Sue wants to shop along Perriwinkle . Say hi to the birds at Jerry's.
Where was this video taken?
Nice video. What's the red paint on the back of your hand?

How do you tell if a micro shell has a living creature in it?

How low was the tide that day?
Any Wentletraps ??
