Hey Ross my grandpa had a 2 bottom Oliver plow with the Holland hitch and radix bottoms and he also had a grain master 2 combine that we used for ever great machine and a very good plow. Also when I took over and started working the farm I bought a Oliver plow from my cousin I don't remember what model but it was new 4-16s spring reset spring loaded counters I loved that plow tons of trash clearance. I pulled it with my 5000 diesel Ford. I was very proud of that setup.we had hilly and stoney ground .
The last time I plowed I used my neighbours 6 x 18 JD that I pulled with a 1500 MF 4 wheel drive. Plowed about 50 acres of alfalfa sod, made the 1500 grunt a bit, worked great. That was about 30 years ago.
I'd most like to see your TNT get up and running. Mine does a nice job of plowing. They are so rare, seeing another one working would be neat. I'd like to experiment more with what tractors can pull it in different soil conditions. Here in my area, we have a lot of stones. Stone piles everywhere
We have a 109 here. Took me forever to figure out what it was. Finally caught the oliver decal on the moldboard in the right light. its complete, id like to get it going. uncommon plows for sure
I thought it was interesting to see the subsoiler attachment in operators manual for my 546 plow. I didn't know they offered it years before that. I really don't know much about Oliver plows anyway, ha ha! It would be interesting to see a plow with the subsoiler though
My uncle had a 56?, I believe it was a 5 bottom. From what I remember my dad said that my uncle and his boys put the plow together, so who knows who would have put the serial number plate on it. He pulled it with a 190XT Allis-Chalmers. I only saw it once from a distance.
Nice BIG collection of Oliver plows. The Oliver plow I used to have was the 4340, which was 4 14 inch bottoms and I pulled it with the 1650 in our heavy soils. I broke the hitch on it, which I got fixed, then the right axle, which at the time, in the 90's there was still one available. When the new front axle broke again, I had had enough and that's when I bought a IH 710 semi-mount plow. If I remember right, I gave the 4340 plow to my mechanic friend Joe. I think, though, that I still have coulters for it.
I can’t remember if I did or not. One day I was pissed at it and I made adjustments, then plowed a pass, came back, tried different holes, went again. So it’s probably not correct right now. That is a good idea though. If the front is higher than the back should stay in the ground. Maybe I won’t fire up the torch just yet…
Yep, dunk that screw leveler in a piece of PVC with evap rust and I’ll bet it comes loose with a little heat and love 😂 (remember it’s got to be warm out for it to work) Do you know where a fella can get those barrel compression springs for the plowmaster? Ours is a bit weak, I’ll try stretching it but it’s rusty….
I’m glad you did all the experimentation so all I have to do is have all the success🤣🤣🤣I don’t have a source for new ones but I was thinking that someone just had one on Facebook posted for sale. there was some guy who had pallets of parts and there was one on there.
Nice collection ! Thanks for showing it. If you can take those Oliver cylinders off and store them inside !! They are damn good cylinders and not made anymore. We have 2 544 semi mount plows and a White auto reset .
Another awesome video Ross! Born and raised on the family farm in Minnesota 60’s and 70’s I can so relate to your equipment. Thanks so much for the videos
That’s quite a collection of plows you have there Ross, don’t think I’ve ever seen an Oliver plow,up here were mostly JD and IH and we still have a Wil-Rich 10 bottom plow which hasn’t been used for over 35 years
I’ve gat to send you some pictures of my plow when I get time to get over there and I wood love to find one of them Oliver sub soler and you alt to stat messing with the tnt
Oh dang you got a lot of plows ! I got one 3 pt. 2 bottom plow and I don't really know what it is . I think somebody made it because I never saw one like it and I saw tons of plows . It's really heavy duty it looks kinda like if someone made a 2 bottom out of plow like the last one you showed . I had a piece of crap John Deere 2010 and that plow gave that tractor a work out . I'm going to use it on my M and see how it plows up the garden . Thanks for sharing and have a great day !
Do you have the mounted plow for that vac case by your first plowmaster plow? Grandpa's first new tractor was a vac and we still have it with that same plow.
No, it didn’t even have the hitch on it when we bought it. I would like to find the correct plow for it, but then I also have to get the hitch to lift correctly 🤣
Well if you need pictures or a crash course on how get it set to let me know. Grandpa got rid of ours in the 50s or 60s and we bought one to replace it about 15 years ago
I had to replace mine too. The tire shop had no idea where to get an angled tire like the original. They told me to try Miller tire. I just put on a regular one. It rides on the edge of the tire but should last a long time with how little we use it
Thank You Ross👍, I enjoyed the plow lesson. I have a Oliver 565, 4+1, 5 Bottom. It has 3 curved coulter's on it. I have 2 straight coulter's I got with it, and bits and pieces of 3 or 4 coulter mounts. I'd like to make it a 6 bottom, but I don't know if that would be too much for it. Any ideas for finding the curved coulter's. I haven't had much success so far. 👍🇺🇲🚜👋
You can get the curve blades from AGCO but they’re very pricey. As far as the whole assembly you’re pretty well out of luck unless you buy another plow for parts.
Question we have a6 bottom semi mounted plow pipe type full 6 bottom would you know what model it is ? It's in beautiful shape been inside all its life going on 40 years . I have a two bottom extinction complete my Dad bought it to make a 8 bottom . There's no numbers on it or tag I remember dad plowing with it on the 2150 and I've had it on are 2 155 works perfectly. Any help would be greatly appreciated
thank you for telling us about all your plows an equipment
nice collection of plows thank you for taking the time to show them to folks

Cool! Thanks for watching Clayton!
That's quite the collection of plows
Thanks! It took a few years to get to this point.
I want to see you put that oliver together! I'll be waiting and watching
If you’re talking about the 1365, I just got the part yesterday so I should be able to start putting it back together as soon as I get free time
The last time I plowed I used my neighbours 6 x 18 JD that I pulled with a 1500 MF 4 wheel drive.

Enjoyed that video. Just started my plow collection with a 201 plowmaster 2 bottom.
Those two bottom plowmasters are good plows!
Went to an auction over the weekend. Was suprised to see a 550,1250, 1250a, 1365,1850diesel . Don't usually run across that many in one place.
That must’ve been a very interesting auction!

I know, I really want to get it done but everything else seems to get priority. Hopefully soon!

You’ll have to make a video of it! I’d like to see one complete. I don’t think I’ve seen one in person
@@rosstheoliverman Yes I will. But will have to be later. Its currently under a white camouflage 😂
Awesome stuff man!
Thanks Cory!
👍👍👍
Thanks Paul!!!
My neighbor has a 6 bottom oliveron land hitch and pulls it with a Oliver 1900 front wheel assist with a Detroit
That would be a cool thing to see in action!

They were definitely ahead of their time on subsoiling. People just didn’t understand the value of the idea.

It was probably a 565. There were tons of those plows around in various sizes.
Damn Ross you're addicted plows LOL
🤣🤣🤣
I enjoyed seeing your collection of plows !
Thanks Scott!

Thanks Charlie! If you still have those coulters, I know a guy who could use a few….
@@rosstheoliverman I gotta check in the old gray shed - I think I have some there. If so, I'll send pics.
The hitch looks to be mounted all the way up on the front. Have you tried moving it down a set of holes?
I can’t remember if I did or not. One day I was pissed at it and I made adjustments, then plowed a pass, came back, tried different holes, went again. So it’s probably not correct right now. @@rosstheoliverman I read somewhere at one point someone was remaking them, maybe McMaster Carr has something close.
I have bought plows just for the gauge wheel and coulters….lol
It happens 🤣
Excellent video Ross and waiting for the horse drawn equipment tour.👍👍
Thanks Tom! I have to do some cleaning to make that part happen. I’ve got a lot of stuff stacked on the horse tools 🤣
I have a 565 Oliver semi mounted
There was a bunch of them around for sure!!
Ok it’s working now so I can watch
Cool
The green stuff in your clothes are called Caribou lichens
Hey Ross you're doing a good job really enjoy your videos and those square beam plows always did a good job
We always had excellent luck with them. That 565 would plow perfect every time
Nice collection ! Thanks for showing it. If you can take those Oliver cylinders off and store them inside !! They are damn good cylinders and not made anymore. We have 2 544 semi mount plows and a White auto reset .
Thanks! Yeah that’s a freshly rebuilt cylinder. I thought of that the other day I should probably hang them indoors.

Thanks Scott!!!
Awesome video. My favorite is the TNT plow. Never seen one before. Now I want one. What a unique plow. 👍
I think they look sharp when they’re fixed up!

Hope your tnt plow has a good trailer wheel tire because to replace it costs about $135 speaking from experience @ miller tire
Yeah, I don’t look forward to that part of the adventure but hey, got to do it to fix it right.

Hey Ross. Just wondering. Any chance for your conversion to God's Righteous Minneapolis Moline or not- just wondering....
I’m afraid I’m too far gone to convert to yellow 🤣

What happened to the last combine you got running? Did you ever get it home?
I’m working on a trailer right now to be able to bring it home. Hopefully it will be soon

If you could send pictures of it that would help. There’s so many different models of plows that you about have to see it
well you gota have a plow if you want to get plowed
🤣🤣🤣
What happened to the guy with The 560
He never brought it yet, but that’s ok because I have a whole line of stuff to fix. I’m sure he’ll bring it out sometime
Well I’m sure it’s an awesome video but every time I click on it just says no stream
my access works fine.
I just watched it thru my hot spot as we are in the RGV of Texas and not at home where I have fiber optic service.
I’ve had that trouble before too, it eventually will work
