I know this is like 12 year old comment but I hope this answers the question: JM plays his signature Martin guitar which is more like 3/4 size of the regular guitar (think of something similar to today's Taylor GS Mini model from other big size models for size comparison). DRH's guitar is probably regular sized dreadnought guitar which has that big sounds and good with stage use. DRH was also seen playing smaller guitar similar to JM"s in more recent live performances. Also, keep in mind this may have been decision based on where these guitars sound different and how they blend in together when played simultaneously sounds wonderful. I hope that answers the question.
What do you mean by “plugged” guitars ? And plastic ? Very clearly St stringed , when he very rarely plays nylon they definitely sound plastic but others wise I’m lost by what you mean ?
@@TJJJJJJJJJJJ plugged means exactly what the word says. Plugged into an amp, as opposed to mic'd. By "plastic" I mean that the tone of the guitar has kind of a plastic quality to it. I didn't say anything about nylon at all.
@@ArthurWM9 just FYI mate plugging a guitar ,well an acoustic , generally means using a sound hole / feedback plug. Hence my question as he’s clearly not using one. And even with a pickup the guitar is still 🎤 via the amp , unless you go direct to the p.a which he isn’t here I know you didn’t mention nylon strings I’m just trying to understand what you mean by plastic because I really don’t know what you mean the signal chain doesn’t sound plastic at all. The strings do sound slightly dead and he’s clearly running to much compression but I don’t here “plastic ??
@@TJJJJJJJJJJJ at this point you're just trying to show knowledge. The fact that his amp is mic'd is completely irrelevant to my point. Also, the fact that there's no feedback plug doesn't mean anything. The tone still has a clear "plastic" quality to it.
i just can't stop listening to this song
OMG he's gorgeous! Damn I wish I was there! Next year definitely!

Anybody know if there are tabs out there for this version? I really like it.
Wow…………
sick intro..
really!
His guitar seems smaller in this video. at least compared to DRH. He is too fine. Great "Belief" performance. Much slower. I Like.

Am I the only one who hears a kind of "plastic" tone in plugged guitars, like John's?
