Right On! I absolutely love his voice, he is very handsome , always looks impeccable, and is always the best dressed (besides the actors) in these films! 🤩😅
The actors and the reenactments were a pleasure to watch. The relationship between the two men was interesting. The son and his mother as well. Top notch documentary. Because of a few moving moments it rates as one of my favorites.
With the execution of Timothy Evans, an innocent man convicted of murder, so recent in British memory when this case happened, I was disappointed that the public were calling for the reinstatement of the death penalty. It was tragic what happened to the policemen but equally tragic was the execution of an innocent man.
Their knee jerk reaction was based on the horror of the murders, solely on emotion, probably not on any lasting desire to reinstate state sanctioned murder. Great Britain has never wavered on this issue since then, as far as I know.
@@voraciousreader3341 Glad to hear. However, just this month the deputy chairman of the Conservative party was calling for its reinstatement. It was rejected by your p.m., but I’m guessing the sentiment to reinstate is there for some as the deputy chairman had his supporters.
The uk needs the death penalty the uk has become more dangerous now because the criminal justice system is way to emotionally sensitive thankfully in the us we’ve never had that problem
@@alicianelson1252 Do the research. There is ABSOLUTELY NO PROOF that capital punishment is a deterrent in preventing crime. Also, the justice system has always and will continue to do so, get it wrong! Innocent people are found guilty and the guilty are found innocent. Money and influence can and will BUY “justice.”
Thorley Wood must've been a much bigger geographical space than I would have expected, within the London area. Big enough for this bloke to hide for such a long time.
An issue as serious as state sanctioned murder should never be reversed based on such an emotional situation. And the Home Secretary couldn’t re-institute capital punishment when his government had taken such a stance of moral superiority over other countries where the practice was still legal, once their practice had been abolished. Keeping criminals penned up for the rest of their lives _is_ a terrible punishment, though most people think the prospect of losing all of their freedoms isn’t such a bad thing. This shows that they are missing a few screws, imo.
The despicable crime is that the majority of UK public even after all these years still want the death penalty, the politicians along with the judiciary refuse to even visit the thought of reinstatement
It’s unbelievable to me that Britain abolished the death penalty, when back in the medieval times innocent people as well as so called “criminals” were tortured and slaughtered! The States will not abolish it, but the absurd thing about is that the criminals sit on death row for years, and even a decade(s) with tax payers supporting them, until they finally get taken out! That is the despicable crime, here! 😅😂
I believe what they mean by this is that they did not need to worry about making sure their doors are locked because they did not need to worry about anyone coming in and robbing them, ect. because crimes such as this just did not happen in their area.
This Host is Perfect for this channel, Sophisticated, and Elegant.
Yes! His voice and demeanour are perfect.
Nicholas Day! yes, a good narrator and perfect for this series

What a magnificent voice this presenter has!

Gunned down in cold blood for a routine stop. Such a waste. Thanks to all good law enforcement officers everywhere, who risk this every day.
Glad to see Nicholas Day again, great narrator
Hello, and Thank You for a Well Done video!
Good channel and stories
In all of these films, (except the host) Dr. Judith is always the one with the loveliest outfits, and is always the best dressed.
All the police were so young, may they rest in peace.🙏🙏🙏🌹
I could even listen to the host, Nicholas Day, read the back of a paint can.

People often have short memories for the tragedies that affect others, but can hold onto their own tragedies often indefinitely...

Is Paul a fictional character?
Q: what is the advantage of "leaving your back door open"? You hear people boast about how they "never locked their doors", but I don't know why.

Malaya is now known as Malaysia after our independence from the British.
I wondered about that . . .
