I miss all the early halo infinite glitches, scorpion gun, Out of bounds, pelican, fusion coil, chopper launch. Im glad i was able to experience it all cause thats all we were hype about back then. Breaks my heart that infinite didnt get to live up to its full potential especially the campaign.
No no, he said they "shipped about 1/3 - 1/2" of the original plan, meaning 1/2 to 2/3 were cut. So he means that it was roughly more than 1/2 cut, not less than 1/2. It's crazy, and I really wish we could have seen that. I wish they had thrown out a few smaller Halo titles in the years since Halo 5 other than Halo Wars 2 (possibly with third party developers) to tide everyone over and just delay Infinite till it was complete. Truly a rough timeline for Halo. Still looking forward to finding out what new management can pull out for the next big thing in Halo, though.
Lesson for all the people who got angry about Craig. Bc stupid graphic quality is what caused this. Graphics were fine.They destroyed their game over that.
@@dataracer1172 Could be the source of the issue, but it's also possible that Craig's face being emotionless was indicative of them not being on schedule with the rest of the game too. Like maybe the development schedule was already thrown off so much that they had to cut that content, and Craig was actually a clue to that effect. It's all but impossible to say from the outside looking in. Most importantly, though, the team should have the ability to prioritize that content over placating a whining audience who disliked the graphics. If they needed that time to finish the game they should have ignored the bleating of the masses. In other words it's still on their shoulders to remain in control, not on the shoulders of mass outrage.
Microsoft were gonna outright ditch Halo after Bungie left, the only reason why they made Halo 3 ODST and Reach, were because of contract obligations. They've been planning to leave Microsoft for a long time. 343 were the ones who insisted on keeping Halo around. Bonnie Ross was over everything involved with Halo, and she wasn't the right person to steer the ship, yet Microsoft did nothing about it for years....
It still hurts to this day trying to fly to the north eastern areas using the invincibility glitch and Pelican in the Season 1 build but they’re no match for the OOB timer. But if Infinite does get official modding support, then maybe the north eastern area would be restored to its former glory
Man you can really feel it. I remember finishing the campaign and just thinking to myself: "What? That's it?" I felt like nothing really meaningful happened storywise... Probably also because they threw you once again into a story you had no idea about (especially when you didn't play HW 2 like me...)
Seems like the sandbox team had most of the dev control for Infinite overall. Which explains the lack of weapons and vehicles, as one team wanted a classic feel and possibly many weapons and vehicles, while the other wanted modern gameplay and few things, which is what we got. Would love to see if the code for the Mantis is still somewhere in the game, as ot was my favorite vehicle 343 made. Also Eaglestrike core, being my favorite one too, but a lack of customization hurt it greatly. Especially those who play for free.
What annoys me about all this is that 343i KNEW the game was going to release an unfinished mess. They outright KNEW that the campaign was a fraction of what was planned and rather shallow yet they still sold the game. They still charged a full price $60 for a campaign they knew was in an incomplete state. You don't get to say you wished you could have done better in one breath but then still sell the content you are disappointed in to consumers at full retail price in the other.
Calling it an "unfinished mess" is disingenuous. The campaign side of the game was definitely not unfinished. There were hardly any bugs. The story had to start and a finish and it told the story. After finishing the game I did wish that there was more but to say that it was an "unfinished mess" is a blatant lie. Sounds like you didn't even play the game.
@@ygu9425 Ironically, it sounds like _you_ didn't even play the game. There was an ABSURD amount of bugs when the campaign launched. Random death barriers would spawn that made impossible to progress, doors wouldn't unlock when they were supposed to, stuff like that. The story literally stops abruptly at a cliffhanger, and the only thing Master Chief does throughout the game besides killing miscellaneous Banished leaders is learn about the stuff that happened offscreen. Even the gameplay that people like to praise to no end just comes down to fighting the same things we have been for twenty years, and one new enemy thats a worse version of the Drones. Infinite's campaign is undeniably unfinished.

The amount of developers I saw in the credits this game was outsourced to was astronomically high and all the contract work when they hire people is a shame
I assumed the health packs were for Marines, you don't need them, but they do. And makes sense because Marine survivability is one of the biggest complains people have since the CE era, they don't regen health or armor at all. And most of the Regen abilities or even equipment have never healed them either. This makes more sense development wise.
I'm kinda glad the health pack got cut it would have slowed Down the gameplay I wouldn't have minded it though if it was Only like that in the campaign that would have been kind of cool And with how opened the world was it would have really encouraged exploration I think that's the reason why all the weapons in infinite Can barely hold any ammo
The more information that comes out about Halo: Infinite's campaign, the more heartbreaking it is. It was poised to be so fucking good. I have been missing the health system since Combat Evolved and Reach. It was such a good balancing failsafe in those games' multiplayers.

They cleaned house pretty extensively, specifically changing the head of 343 to Pierre Hintze who had previously been in charge of fixing 343i's fuckup with MCC by making as good of a product it is today (hackers be damned).
I hate Microsoft so much. I will never forgive them for what they did to Halo. If they gave 343 another 2 years we could have gotten the best Halo since Reach
I wouldn't be so sure. 343 still would've had all the management disfunctions which hindered the devolepment for almost all their games. If it was another two years, campaign team would end exhausted (if you don't know how they were treated).
My friend was a sandbox designer on Infinite, and he told me that his lead hated Halo 1, and would specifically push against any efforts to recreate the halo 1 sandbox. It sounded like really toxic lead.
It really seems like they're trying to remedy their wrongdoings under the Bonny, Wolf, and A Franky. But to do that requires them to look at the original game and understand what made it beloved honestly if a proper Halo CE Anniversary/Remake is being made PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GET MARTY to supervise it.
@@Borgron Yeah it would never happen, but that would go a long way to regain trust with fans if they hired Joe, Marty & other OG team members. Joe is possible as he still works for MS and helped shipped Infinite, but I'm not sure what terms Marty is with them these days.

It would of been healthy for the game had they put different biomes in those playable areas. Seems like were lucky with what we got ,becuase 343 during infinte development stage was a hot mess considering they had 6 years since halo 5, and they barely gave us any content. Honestly it feels like they weren't put in the best position to succed in the first place.
People dont seem to know just how horribly the game was fumbled. Another reason the campaign is so short, and end without wrapping up the story, is because it wasnt supposed to end there. A new campaign was supposed come out with each season. Each campaign containing another portion of the story and taking the player to a new location on the ring. We didnt just end up with a third of the finished game. We ended up with an EIGHTH OF IT. From what dataminers could uncover, the second campaign would take place in a desert. But due to poor management decisions (as it often is) and layoffs we'll never see the full game. They made a whole new engine from scratch and marketed halo infinite as the Xbox Series X's launch title. Halo infinite was supposed to be THE halo for the next DECADE, but it hardly lasted a couple years. Its very upsetting for me.
Health could work but just for challenge runs, normal Infinite gameplay wouldn't work with them unless the Health value was cranked all the way up like in CE. Overall I like the end result better.

Bro. I was hoping if you could play my friend's forge map called "The Silent Cartographer:Mission" By Nilphz in Halo Infinite. It's a new interpretation of the classic mission but in Zeta Halo, with a modern style, hight detailed environments and more enemie Bosses ;)/
Infinite was supposed to be Halo's new open world platform for the next 10 years... And 343 QUIT after 3 years. Basically after launch. This shouldve been the damn campaign seasons. 343 are such failures. Sigh.
Infinite should have been Halo’s best campaign. But considering what we got it’s undeniably the worst. Simply because it’s not a complete game. What we got was unacceptable. Every aspect of the campaign was half assed and incomplete. From the story which was just plain dumb, to the sandbox being so small that they had to put banished weapons on some of the sentinels. The fact that people still enjoyed it for what it was really goes to show how much potential it actually had. Even in an extremely unfinished state it was still fun. Imagine how it would have been if the game was actually complete

I want to see the more classic mech suits. The mantis looks WORSE than the other YGGDRASIL models we saw over the years.
