- A majority of people who try Skimboarding for the first time romanticize gliding on the sand and out to waves within hours of getting their new board. It is a bit more difficult than it appears. Brad Domke, Bill Bryan, and Blair Conklin have been practicing for years and are able to make it look easy.

Amazing how many different places that sider breaks from!! Back in the day my favorite spot was just north... but this one was the most consistent. November 19, 1989 had overhead siders and broke 4 hours a day all week. We would walk up the stairs getting the worst cramps and we were stoked!!

This spot seems to be so fun, whatewer the size. Here, in Corsica Island (France) i'm trying to find conditions to get better in skimboarding. I'm a surfer primarly. But, i want so much, riding a skimboard, and going far away on the water like you. That's magical! And, it opens doors to a lot of fun in small shorebreak waves.

As a surfer I would hate (love) to be at that break. Just as I am lining up a tasty left, here comes a skid kid sliding in from the right. And they are even snaking their own groms (6:28).
Bruh that little shorebreak is custom made for skimming! If you want to surf there are literally THOUSANDS of much better spots in Cali and Baja alone ;-)

Haha that reminds me of the time me and my water polo team from Hawaii went to Cali for a tournament and we all went in the beach in speedos the waves were huge too beat times
Sooo sick. Wish I had a crew like that to hit the skim with. Alls I got is a bunch of “soul” surfers riding fiberglass lookin at me funny cuz I’m learning to skim at 40 on a soft skim foam board😛

Luv it! The wave looks so interesting, one of a kind. The drone pictures are great, such a difference from gopros, although it would be perfect if this video had some of those close-ups mixed in.

I have been a Bowl skater for years cause I never get to go to the beach or at least a good one. I always have a skimboard but never understood HOW it should be ridden. Watching you fellas makes me think even Corpus Christi Bay could be fun

One place I surf is difficult when it's cloudy and glassy cuz you can't differentiate the ocean from the sky and you don't see a set till it's too late.

I’ve been seeing a lot of leopard sharks this year along the cost from PV to Laguna durning my dives. It seems as if a lot of them spawned in the past year compared to the previous years. Or maybe I’m just getting lucky and seeing them more often.

Where the waves crash together in a v is that where the rips are? My thought is the water moves towards the beach from 2 directions and where the waves meet is where the water travels back out. I know surfers aren't to worried about rips as your extremely good swimmers and infact use the rips to get you out quicker
