Great video. We did East Grinstead this weekend and it was incredibly wet and muddy, my trail shoes could only put up a weak fight. If you want to move onto the parkrun alphabet challenge (which I have no doubt you'll want to after doing Namely) - you'll probably end up having to drive down to Queen Elizabeth parkrun. I'd absolutely love a video of you all doing that. Queen Elizabeth has ~120m elevation compared to East Grinstead's ~78m but definitely feels more than twice as hilly.
oh wow well done - it was bad enough when we did it and I don't think we'd had all the rain we've had recently. Very interesting about QE parkrun... I've passed your suggestion on to the lads! Thank you x
This could be the start of a love affair with trail running. It all starts with some cheap trail shoes, then next thing you know, you're signing up to run 100km in the Lake District 😅 I'd have paid to see you trying that race in road shoes though! Good decision on the shoe front.
haha you never know! I did say back in 2020 that I would never run a marathon and have now run two... oh god I nearly thought lets just not get the trail shoes cos maybe it'll be funny but I panicked the day before thinking maybe I'll turn my ankle or something. It was hard enough! x
Much like Scottish country dancing & Prog. Rock, something to be tried once and never again. My attitude, has of course nothing to do with my fractured & dislocated shoulder from a few years ago. At least the buggy warriors didn't fancy it.
haha! Yes I appreciate what you're saying. Sorry about your shoulder though. There was a guy with a dog I think who came in after us but thankfully no buggies. I mean the idea of pushing a buggy up those hills seems ridiculous, but then when we did the Bacchus Half last year with similar hills there was a lady dragging a tyre behind her...
I am partly annoyed that I didn’t hear about this given it is just down the road from me, and partly relieved that I didn’t hear about this given how tough it looks…
ha! Well it's character building... in a way. Luckily they do it every month! www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/surrey/polesden-lacey/events/6ae7564c-7591-4e38-a056-0bea88be8062
@@TheRichKeeble oh good! Will have to give it a go. If you want to get the full £40 worth from your Evadicts then you should give this a go in January… torchlit trail run at Denbies just the other side of the Polesden Lacey hills… www.letsdothis.com/gb/e/dark-skies-surrey-hills-188016

55mins and you walked... 4 times? Sounds pretty bloody good to me. Especially for a super hilly course.
haha well you're very kind. I did do some quite fast downhill kms to make up the time and for context my 10K PB on a flattish course is 43 mins x
